1994 MERCEDES S-420 LWB LUXURY SEDAN

78K ORIGINAL MILES / NO RUST!!

Moonroof / Non-Smoker/ Clean Interior

Looks, Runs and Drives Great!!

Here is an opportunity to buy  a very clean & original 1994 Mercedes Benz S420 luxury sedan.  There is no reserve for this  big body Mercedes with only 78,000 miles.  The exterior is Artic White with a Gray leather interior.  Both body and interior are in excellent condition for the age of the vehicle.  This car is 20 years old not new, but no one would guess it's age based on the look and condition of the car.    The S series is known as a W140 Body.  The motor in this S is a a gas friendly 4.2L DOHC small V8 and is gets about 14/18MPG!

The interior of the vehicle is very clean with dual 12-way power front seats and 3-position memory option.  The S body gives the rear seat passengers lots of leg and head room.  Options include  a leather trimmed, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel,  power slide & tilt Moonroof, Power adjustable tilt/telescoping Steering Wheel, Soft-Closing Doors + Trunk & Power Folding Mirrors, 4 wheel ABS, Fog lamps, Elegant 16” factory alloy wheels and factory alarm system.   This is a top of the line Mercedes with all the options and special features of the S Class luxury.

Mechanically, the car is in great shape.

Overall, the car looks great for being 20 years old.  On the interior: it looks great as well for the car’s age.  To my knowledge everything is in working order including the vacuum system for the doors and trunk, the A/C blows cold, all windows, sunroof and door locks work as you would expect.

Please feel free to drive or inspect the car.  I have it for sale locally as well - so it will be gone when it sells.  NO RESERVE.

Man makes record-setting drive across the US in 28 hours, 50 minutes

Fri, 01 Nov 2013

Records, as the say, are made to be broken. Whether that's cramming the most hot dogs down your gullet, running a faster mile, or yes, driving across the United States, odds are that there's someone out there wants to eat more, run faster or drive harder. Speaking of that last example, the record for driving from a set location on the east coast, in particular the Red Ball Garage in Manhattan to the Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach, CA, has been one that has fascinated gearheads since a guy named Cannonball Baker made the trek from New York to LA in 53 hours, 30 minutes, in 1933.
The competition saw its glory days when Car and Driver's Brock Yates came up with the Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash (more affectionately known as the Cannonball Run), although the record was most recently set by Alex Roy and his 32-hour, seven-minute trek behind the wheel of a BMW M5 in 2006. Now, there's a new champion, who made the trip from east to west in a scarcely imaginable 28 hours and 50 minutes, behind the wheel of a 2004 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG. That's works out to an average speed of 98 miles per hour over the course of 2,813.7 miles.
His name is Ed Bolian, and Jalopnik has a writeup of the epic voyage that details everything from the history of the Cannonball Run to Bolian's preparation and trouble finding co-drivers, to the trip itself. It is well worth a read.

Mercedes to market Tesla-powered 2014 B-Class EV in U.S.

Thu, 05 Jul 2012

Looks like another Tesla Motors investor will be looking to cash in on their connection. Autoweek reports Mercedes-Benz will offer their B-Class in the U.S. with Tesla propulsion.
The magazine says their source at the German automaker confirms plans for a B-Class electric-only vehicle. While Tesla already provides battery packs for the battery-powered Smart ForTwo, the B-Class EV will reportedly have Tesla batteries, motor and other components. U.S. residents should be able to procure one sometime in 2014.
The same Mercedes source says plans for a hybrid B-Class have been postponed for now. Adding a range-extending, gasoline-powered engine to an electric vehicle would put the car into a different class for which rebates and incentives aren't as favorable in the States.

Next Mercedes S-Class stretching into this 600 Pullman limo

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

To the concern of nobody in particular, Mercedes-Benz will not be re-upping its Maybach line of ultra-luxury limousines. No, instead the German automaker will be stretching its already roomy S-Class, to make this upcoming 600 Pullman version of the decked-out beast.
The car in our new gallery of spy shots is sporting beefy B-pillars and a massive set of rear doors that should allow perfectly graceful ingress and egress from what is likely to be a palatial rear space. (In one photo we can even see a long-wheelbase S-Class in line with the new Pullman, handily exhibiting the size of the new variant.) The exterior modifications are otherwise obscured, though we can guess at revised front and rear fascia and lighting elements, based on both end being heavily taped for these test runs.
It's a good bet that the Pullman will make use of M-B's twin-turbocharged V12 engine, though sources indicate that a hybrid version might eventually be in the offing, as well.
