1998 Mercedes Benz Ml 320 W/ Upgrades Needs Work And/or Salvageable Clear Title on 2040-cars
Oak Park, Illinois, United States
|
Hello, you are bidding on a 1998 ML 320 with approximately 223,650 miles. Please read full description before bidding. This has been my regular car for the past 2.5 years. Former owner was a dealer's father in Metro Detroit. He put upgrades into the car from the ML55 including front grill/bumper, rear bumper, side moldings, mirrors, front and rear headlamps and also ML55 alloy wheels. A new engine was swapped in at approximately 195,000 miles and currently has ~100,000 miles on it. This was all done to give the SUV's appearance of a 2003-2004 model or so. The interior is very clean and the leather seats are in great shape for its age. The cosmetic problems are slight rusting of the passenger front fender as well as slight rusting on front wheel wells on either side. Overall not bad at all for a car of this age. Also, I was backed into by a parallel parker and the front bumper was severely cracked and is slightly detached at each side (see photo). Main reason I am selling is that recent repairs have arisen that I can not afford. The power steering is completely shot/gone out and needs new front lower ball joints to the tune of $3200. The $3200 quote I received was for new power steering rack and coupling, o-ring, power steering pump, power steering reservoir, power steering reservoir gasket, and front lower ball joints. Car can be driven but as expected with vehicle's weight, takes a lot of force and requires a bit more than usual turning radius and some muscle to get it going (especially from a stopped position while turning).
I have been searching the forums a bit and was told that if you know what you're doing, parts are not that expensive and can be fixed on the cheap. Problem is I do not know what I'm doing and can not afford the $3200 hit. So I suppose this is a sale that can either be repaired and/or junked out. Hate to sell this car as I've had some good years with it and it is an absolute tank. I have driven it mostly highway miles to my place of employment and multiple trips back and forth to family in Michigan. Great in the snow and provides a good ride along with cargo. In February of this year $1500 was spent on new front inner tie rods along with a new serpentine belt, tensioner and idler pulley. Truck has been on synthetic its entire life. I am just outside the Chicagoland area in Oak Park. Buyer agrees to send deposit via PayPal for $400 of the auction price within 1 day of auction end. Rest due in cash when picking up. Please message me if you have any questions or would like to see the car. Its my first time doing anything like this on eBay so I hope I have provided everything you need on this auction listing. Thanks! |

Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury SUV concept shown in leaked images
Fri, Apr 20 2018Just days ago, we posted the interior teaser image Mercedes-Maybach released of its Ultimate Luxury concept due to be presented at the Beijing Motor Show. Now photos of the entire vehicle, inside and out, have leaked online courtesy of the manufacturer. Thanks to the concept's own microsite being live for a short while, we've gotten a good look of the concept. And it's not just a dressed-up GLS by any means, even if there might be a GLS platform underneath it all: It's a high-riding four door sedan with a clearly formed trunk instead of a traditional SUV shape. There's a big waterfall grille flanked by low, aggressive three-unit headlights, and the detailing is a combination of SUV cues and something a lot more luxurious. It's not easy to design a three-box sedan that's still recognizably an SUV. Inside, there's white leather and rose-gold detailing everywhere. But the big deal is the powertrain, which in the concept is all-electric. The all wheel drive is propelled with four electric motors, with a combined power output of 750 horsepower. The battery, said to be a flat underfloor design, is good for 80 kWh and an EPA range of over 200 miles, and the vehicle's top speed is limited to 250 km/h, or 155 mph. There's DC fast charging at up to 350kW, meaning that the range can be boosted by 60 miles in just five minutes, and induction charging is also available. All in all, the vehicle reminds us of the 2009 Lagonda Luxury Utility Vehicle concept, which was also created around a three-box sedan shape and also based on a Mercedes platform, GL-Class in that case. It did not yield a production version, but maybe the Vision Ultimate Luxury will. Mercedes pays tribute to 1955 Mille Miglia with special-edition SL
Wed, Feb 18 2015The Mercedes-Benz SL is one of the longest-running nameplates in the business, and its history has been marked with numerous achievements. But few were as impressive as the 1955 running of the Mille Miglia, and Mercedes pays tribute to that race and the results it achieved there with this latest special-edition roadster. Called the SL Special Edition Mille Miglia 417, this roadster starts with the eight-cylinder SL550 with dynamic stability management and adaptive damping and adds on several highlights. Red trim adorns the front spoiler, the stripe across the matte carbon rear spoiler, the brake calipers and the rims of the black AMG Performance wheels. The red pieces accent the matte black paint, while the interior features AMG Line sports seats with carbon-finish leather and red trim, along with a red and black nappa leather steering wheel and carbon trim. The SL arrives 60 years after the Mille Miglia in which a 300 SL driven by American gentleman racer John Fitch - bearing the number 417 and starting at 4:17 a.m. - led a 1-2-3 class finish, landing fifth overall and leaving many purpose-built racers in the dust. The special edition is confirmed for the US, arriving this fall with pricing to be announced closer to launch. SPECIAL EDITION SL "MILLE MIGLIA 417" Exclusive SL passion February 17, 2015 - Stuttgart -- Mercedes-Benz celebrates the 60th anniversary of a memorable motor racing success with an extraordinary special model of the SL Roadster. Its name commemorates the unexpected victory of a 300 SL in the production sports cars class at the 1955 "Mille Miglia", one of the world's most challenging long-distance races. What's more: the SL Special Edition "Mille Miglia 417" provides a special experience of the unique symbiosis of maximum comfort and motor racing spirit that traditionally characterizes every SL. The Special Edition adds a distinctive note, among other things, with red exterior highlights and fine materials in the exclusively appointed interior. The Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster is more than an icon. Passion shapes its character and its charisma – in the past and today. Legendary vehicles and their stories dominate the model history. One of them is told by the SL that started the famous "Mille Miglia" in 1955 with race number 417 at 4:17 am. After 11 hours, 29 minutes and 21 seconds it had completed the race distance of 1597 kilometres on public roads from Brescia to Rome and back.
