We absolutely love this vehicle. It was collected from Brunswick, GA only a few days ago and driven the 300 miles back to our showroom in Kissimmee, FL (the back roads!).
This G Wagon is an absolutely superb drive, customs commented that it was one of the few vehicles that they never had to jump start once after coming over on a boat for two weeks with no gas and a disconnected battery, it starts first time, every time.
The drive is great, very responsive steering and surprisingly light to steer. Gear changes are smooth and feel tight. The visibility is excellent due to the huge rear windows. The 2.3 gas engine never feels underpowered and zips along nicely at a cruising speed of around 70 mph.
This G Wagon is a real head turner. It has spent 4 hours in our workshop being valeted and looks stunning. A brilliant red combined with black arches and trims really pop.
We would say that this is an entry level vehicle, for someone who loves and appreciates the G Wagon and wants something special. I have personally driven the vehicle and find the drive excellent, my wife drove it for 5 hours back from Brunswick and didn’t want to get out at the other end. It is the kind of vehicle that you quickly grow attached to and will want to tinker with it.
The reason we call this an entry level vehicle is that there are minor things that an enthusiast would possibly want to consider, although it is stunning as it is. There are some cosmetic jobs that could be done which would only improve the vehicle. There are areas where the paint is flaking, not through rust, just old paint. If this G Wagon was to be resprayed it would soon look like the $50,000 plus vehicles you see up for sale. The interior is in great condition, the only flaw is the tear in the drivers seat, the kind that comes from climbing up into the vehicle and squashing down the edge of the seat, this has been stitched and repaired as you can see in the photo, but would benefit from being removed and repaired.
The best thing is that the bones of this G Wagon are superb, the chassis is in excellent condition as is the running gear. We do not import any vehicles that do not pass our stringent tests in the UK and that have not been ‘pre loved’ by their owners. We ensure that all of our vehicles have great bones, cosmetics can be done to taste, but you have a superb foundation.
If this vehicle captures your attention as it did ours when we saw it for sale by an elderly gentleman owner in the UK, then please get in touch asap using our contact form or alternatively give us a call.

Sunday Drive: Classic American nameplates and one exciting new German
Sun, Mar 25 2018Our look back at last week's biggest automotive stories focuses first on the Jeep Wagoneer, an unequivocal American classic. Not only did the Wagoneer play a pivotal role in kicking off America's current love affair with the sport utility vehicle, it legitimized the Jeep brand in the mind of consumers looking not just for something to ably take them off the beaten path, but to do so in comfort, with the entire family along for the ride. So it comes as little surprise that Jeep decided to take one vintage Wagoneer, modernize it with a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine, and put the thing on display as part of its annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari. We're in love. Our next two stories focus on Cadillac. First up is news that the striking Escala Concept is headed for production in 2021 to serve as the brand's flagship luxury sedan. The second story involves Caddy's current top rung, the CT6, which gets a new twin-turbo V8 engine as part of its V-Sport package. And finally, we round out this look at last week's headlines with the 2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet. We're mighty keen to try out Benz's new AMG-fettered turbocharged inline-six engine, and the C Coupe looks like a fine point of entry. As always stay tuned to Autoblog this week for all the latest automotive news. Is Audi getting complacent and suffering from brain drain?
Wed, 27 Nov 2013The argument is made in a Reuters article: Audi is falling behind other luxury brands, such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, due to a lack of research-and-development spending and "brain drain," or the migration of top executives and R&D chiefs to other parts of the Volkswagen Group. Reuters notes that Audi's current R&D chief is the third in 16 months.
Audi, which contributed to 40 percent of VW Group's $11.6 billion in profit the first nine months of the year, is delivering cars at a record pace: 1.31 million were delivered from January to October 2013 versus BMW's 1.35 million. Yet Audi, Reuters reports, doesn't have a halo car akin to BMW's new electrified i3 and i8 or an answer to Mercedes' plug-in-hybrid S-Class, and the R&D spending at Audi is less than BMW and Mercedes by a fair margin. It's noted in the article, however, that Audi benefits from other R&D spending within VW Group.
Reuters mentions that BMW "trumpets its new 'i' series" and the new Mercedes CLA and GLA ranges are winning "rave reviews" as part of its argument that Audi's recent lack of technological innovation could hurt future sales. Those cars do pack tons of new technology, some of which are firsts for mainstream production cars. But last time we checked, the i3 could be causing BMW's stock to slide, the CLA isn't receiving the rave reviews that Reuters would have you believe and the GLA hasn't been reviewed yet.
My year in EVs: 8 electrics that are changing the car industry
Wed, Dec 1 2021The year 2021 will go down as an inflection point in the auto industry’s transition to electric vehicles. It's when many much-anticipated models became reality. No longer sketches or sketchy prototypes, electric vehicles appeared from all corners with everything from the Lucid Air to Ford Mustang Mach-E changing how we think about transportation. I managed to drive a lot of them, and as I went through my notes, I realized IÂ’ve got a mini memoir of the seminal EVs of 2021. HereÂ’s my take on eight of them. Hummer EV Easily the most over-the-top EV I tested this year. The 1,000-hp super truck lived up to the hype with its domineering presence, stupendous power and simply being a reincarnated Hummer. I took it for a short spin on- and off-road at the General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford, Mich., and was impressed with the airy cabin, removable sky panels and expansive touchscreens. Yes, I crab walked, which felt like steering a pontoon boat, though I can see why it would be useful. Lucid Air Dream Performance The most beautiful sedan I tested all year, EV or otherwise. Unlike the futuristic Mercedes EQS — which is quite attractive — LucidÂ’s car is a blend of mid-century modern interior aesthetics and classic European exterior styling. When I walked up for my test drive, someone who IÂ’m pretty sure was comedian Jon Lovitz was sitting inside and taking it all in. As it sat in the valet of a hotel in a wealthy suburban enclave north of Detroit, the Lucid drew more attention than any of the Mercedes, Cadillacs or Lexus models passing by. The driving experience was enveloping. Starting at $169,000 for the Performance model (reservations are closed), the Lucid I sampled packed 1,111 hp and 471 miles of range. From the precise steering to the comfortable suspension, the dynamics were spot-on. It's a formidable product, and all the more impressive given itÂ’s LucidÂ’s first. Chevy Bolt EV The Bolt was the most pleasant surprise for me. It handled well, offered low-to-the-ground hot hatch dynamics and the steering was dialed-in. Adding a crossover variant for the new generation was a smart play. On a summer morning where I went to a first drive of the Ford Bronco at an off-road course, my hour-long commute in the Bolt was an enjoyable appetizer. The Bolt was also my biggest disappointment due to its extensive recalls for fire risk. Ironically, I had the Bolt in my driveway when the initial recall went out for the previous generation (2017-19).
