I'm selling my beautiful, nicely equipped and maintained 2006 E320 CDI Mercedes diesel. The car has been always garaged. I really love this car, but we are downsizing. :( My loss is your gain. Only 145k miles and it drives like it's brand new. I have owned several MB diesels and this has been my favorite.

The leather interior is spotless and the burl walnut wood in perfect condition. A factory iPod connector was professional installed in the glovebox so you can listen to whatever you like while it charges your phone or iPod.

Of course, there is a litany of standard Mercedes comfort and convenience features such as dual zone climate control, speed sensitive wipers with rain sensor, auto dimming rear view mirror, cruise control, ambient interior lighting, VDO-sourced gauges, programmable remote locking system and the integrated garage door opener to name a few.

On the safety and security side, dual front/side airbags and head protection curtain, TeleAid emergency calling system, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), night security illumination. anti-theft alarm with engine immobilizer, and the list goes on.

The 3.2L 24 valve turbocharged in-line 6 diesel mated to a 5-Speed Automatic Transmission consistently delivers 40 mpg cruising at 70-75mph and sprints from 0-60 in about 6 seconds; that's fast! It never lacks for power and loves winding Idaho mountain roads.

Clad in Michelins all around with alignment, both batteries were replaced less than a year ago.

The car is in good condition with the normal amount of wear on a 2006 vintage. There's a spot behind the front license plate that has chipped paint. It was like that when I bought it. And there a little dent on the right front wheel well. Also there when I bought it. These are not the important things. What is important is that powerhouse workforce engine that gets you 40 MPG and does it in comfort and style.

I hate to see it go, but that's how it goes sometimes. Everything works.  I am listing the car locally as well and reserve the right to end the auction early if I sell it locally.

Race Recap: Singapore Grand Prix is about a safety car and submission

Mon, 23 Sep 2013

The Singapore Formula One Grand Prix is the Monaco GP of the Orient - a weekend known more for its glamour and time-slot than on-track action, with a temporary circuit that punishes every mistake, usually terminally.
Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas got the best of Free Practice 1, opening the curtain on a possible resurgence of Silver Arrows performance. By the time qualifying was done, though, it was his teammate Nico Rosberg who lined up second on the grid, followed by Romain Grosjean with a beautiful performance in the Lotus, Mark Webber in the Infiniti Red Bull, and Hamilton all the way back in fifth. Behind them were Felipe Massa outqualifying Ferrari teammate Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button getting the McLaren into eighth, Daniel Ricciardo with another good Q3 effort to get into ninth, and the shocker of Esteban Gutiérrez getting his Sauber into the top ten for the first time this year.
At the front of the pack was Sebastian Vettel. Again. But he was only ahead of Rosberg by a single tenth of a second...

Mercedes-Benz CLA stars in sweeping short with supermodel Karlie Kloss

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

The Mercedes-Benz CLA earned itself a spot on our list of the top five unveils of the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, and for good reason. The German luxury compact is the first small car from the Silver Arrow that looks suitably premium inside and out. Nowness.com has turned out a new video of the CLA featuring super model Karlie Koss in the lead role. We aren't entirely sure what the premise is, but from what we can tell, it looks as if the CLA comes to life and proceeds to be a giant jerk.
After Koss stops to take a closer look at a white horse, the CLA gives the supermodel the old stop-and-go treatment before leaving her on the side of the road. Eventually, the sedan makes nice, but Koss has to ride shotgun instead of taking the controls herself. You can check out the video below to see for yourself.

Daimler employees can set email to auto-delete during vacation

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

The Internet has shrunk the world in terms of the way people communicate by making it possible to send an email from Oslo and have it show up in Cleveland almost immediately. But that instant contact has wrecked the work/life balance for many. They get home from a long day at the office, yet they can never fully put their feet up and relax because another hour or more of checking and replying to emails awaits. However, German automotive giant Daimler is putting an end to that churn, at least while its employees are on vacation.
About 100,000 Daimler employees in Germany are eligible to opt-in to a new program called Mail on Holiday, according to The Atlantic. When the workers go on vacation, they can switch it on, and the service auto-deletes all of their incoming email. "Our employees should relax on holiday and not read work-related emails," said Wilfried Porth, board member for human resources, to The Financial Times as cited by The Atlantic.
Mail on Holiday puts a thumb on the scale of work/life balance in favor of a little more free time. The system means that Daimler employees shouldn't even be tempted to check their email on vacation because there's nothing there - and it also avoids them coming back from a relaxing holiday only to find a mailbox packed full of hundreds of unread messages. These days, people are absolutely obsessed with their work, often to the detriment of their health, not to mention spending time with their families and friends. On one hand, Mail on Holiday sounds like the sort of vacation breakthrough we'd need to truly unplug and unwind, but on the other hand, it makes our skin crawl just thinking about the lack of communication. What's your perspective? Have your say in Comments.
