This is a vehicle that I had tried to auction last year for a friend. He has lowered the price and has asked me to relist it. It is an "M-110 6 cyl. 2.8 liter double overhead cam engine, carbureted Solex 4 A 1. Disc brakes, front and rear...4 owner history, confirmed, since new, always garaged. Paint original, except for cosmetic repaint to passenger side front door, result of minor injury. Ziebart ... with careless overspray on OEM muffler, rear axle mounted fuel pump, and rocker panels. All floors original, no rust in wheel wells, original trunk mat. clean underneath, tool roll, tire iron, bilstein jack, aged spare tire in place. All lights functional. Non working radio, shorted ground wire to manual antenna. A/C fan, clutch, and compressor functional, but not cooling and will require leak-down, dye test, and overhaul. Heater working, passenger side core partially seized. Very minor pitting of windshield, no rainbows or chips, excellent original Sekurit glass all around. Rubber, good for age, newer hood insulation mat, rotted trunk lid seal. Roll down window channels, tight, in need of cleaning and lubrication. Instrument cluster gauges functional except for clock. Center section of exhaust system very rusty, but intact, with no evidence of holes or noise." This information was quoted from a letter to the car owner from a gentlemen who looked at the car in Nov. 2012. The comments are entirely his own. The owner shared this letter with me as he was very impressed by the man's knowledge of the vehicle and the information needs to be attributed to him and not the owner.
Seat covers were custom made for the vehicle and are shearling, in very good condition. The provenance of the vehicle is documented. It was formerly owned by Margaret Truman, daughter of President Harry S. Truman. She was concert singer, actress, radio and TV personality and mystery writer. Born Feb. 17, 1924, died at age 83.
All of the owners manuals are present. Please contact the owner Joe at 765 730 5939 or 765 747 9888 if questions. Any work done on the car since Joe has owned it have been done at Motor Imports in Muncie, IN and all service records are available.
(I know nothing about cars except how to drive them. My apologies if pertinent information is lacking. This listing is on behalf of a friend who would be glad to answer any questions.)

Mercedes-AMG previews new C63 Coupe ahead of August 19 reveal
Mon, Jul 27 2015Mercedes has been spending the month of July preparing us all of the debut of the new AMG-fettled C-Class coupe. It dropped an enigmatic teaser video on us at the beginning of the month, followed by a handful of teaser images, and another video after that. Now it's released another batch of images to give us a taste of what to expect. These prototype pictured is still heavily camouflaged, so there's little more to tell from them than we already saw from the spy shots we brought you back in April. We can see the front end a bit better, bearing what looks like the same lower air dam as the C63 sedan, but everything save for the front part of the greenhouse is covered up in the swirly stuff. While the photos posted on the Mercedes-Benz Facebook page refer to this as the C63 Coupe, the AMG post references the Mercedes-AMG C-Class Coupe. Either way, we're expecting it to pack the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 as the sedan (as well as the AMG GT), likely to be made available once again in 469- and 503-horsepower states of tune. Affalterbach has also posted a countdown timer on its website, with 23 days left to go until the new muscle coupe makes its debut. So mark your calendars for August 19, and watch this space for more as the German automaker is sure to keep trickling out more photos, videos, and information between now and then. Related Video:
Mercedes CLA facelift spotted in Germany
Tue, Oct 6 2015It's only been a couple of years since Mercedes launched the CLA-Class, but it appears the German automaker is already preparing mild revisions for the compact four-door. Spotted undergoing testing at the company's R&D center in Sindelfingen, Germany, this disguised prototype is likely packing many of the updates that were recently applied to the A-Class hatchback with which the CLA shares most of its underpinnings. As you can see, the front end is camouflaged to disguise the shape of a new grille, bumper, and headlights. Expect similar revisions to be applied to the back as well. Don't expect any drastic mechanical changes in most of the models, which will surely cut the svelte model's fuel consumption and carbon emissions incrementally. We can likely look forward to the arrival of the new AMG version that will hopefully pack the revised 2.0-liter turbo four that produces 381 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque in the updated Mercedes-AMG A45 – a not-insignificant boost of 36 hp and 18 lb-ft over the existing version. Mercedes won't pass up the opportunity to update the interior with new trim and equipment. That should mean a bigger infotainment screen, a new instrument cluster, and even more comfortable seats. Look for all this and more when the revised CLA arrives sometime next year, likely as a 2017 model. Related Video:
Regulators consider adding more carmakers to Takata recall
Tue, Sep 29 2015Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal has been getting a lot of press recently, but the Takata airbag inflator affair could be grabbing headlines again soon. According to Bloomberg, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is contemplating an expansion to the campaign that could add seven automakers to the 12 already affected. They are Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Spartan Motors, Suzuki, Tesla, Volvo Trucks, and VW Group. To be clear, there's no recall for any of these automakers, yet. The government is simply asking for a full list of vehicles that each of them have with Takata-supplied inflators containing ammonium nitrate propellant. The agency is concerned this substance could play a roll in the ruptures. "NHTSA is considering not only whether to issue an administrative order that would coordinate the remedy programs associated with the current Takata recalls, but also whether such an order should include expansion of the current recalls," the letters say. All seven can be viewed, here. From a report supplied by Takata, the government already knows that the company supplied 887,055 inflators with ammonium-nitrate propellant to VW and 184,926 of them to Tesla. In an incident during the summer, a side airbag allegedly burst in a 2015 VW Tiguan. In early September, NHTSA put out a revised report that there were 23.4 million inflators to be replaced in 19.2 million vehicles in the US. An earlier accounting from the agency had about 34 million of the parts in 30 million cars. High humidity is still believed to be among the biggest risk factors for the ruptures. Although, if ammonium nitrate also gets the blame, some already recalled models might need to be repaired again. Related Video:
