I bought this car for myself a few years ago, and I've loved it. The car is perfect except for some of the wood trim inside starting to peel, a short tear on the pad of the driver's seat, a small dent on the passenger's side, and some scuffs on the hood. Also the driver's window and the cruise-control stopped working a few years ago.
I added a dual 2 1/8" exhaust a few years ago with a Magnaflow muffler. It's a little loud, but I've always liked it. I also added an airbox from a later 560SEC for more airflow.
The prior owner had what was then a top-of-the-line stereo system installed (Nakamichi amplifier, ADS amplifiers and crossovers, JL Audio coaxial plates, 8" subwoofers). I removed the existing Alpine cassette-deck and installed my top-notch Eclipse CD player.
Also, the original front AMG air-dam for this car was damaged years ago, and the new, unpainted replacement in sitting in my garage and of course will be sent with the car.
This is the European-edition of this car. It had more power than the US version, and I've left all the German writing inside alone. Also the proper VIN for this car is WDB1260441A174659. Ebay wouldn't accept the proper VIN when I posted the ad.
This is a great-looking car. I'm frequently asked about it and where I bought it.

Mercedes-Benz killing Maybach in 2013, replacing with S600 Pullman
Fri, 25 Nov 2011According to an unnamed Mercedes-Benz source speaking with AutoWeek, the German automaker is killing off its Maybach line in 2013.
The unsurprising news comes after the brand was resurrected in 2002, but failed to meet sales expectations with its two core models, the Maybach 57 and 62. Further solidifying its fate, a deal with Aston Martin to aid in the development of future Maybachs fell through earlier this year.
According to the AutoWeek insider, the plan is to continue to sell both Maybach models through the end of 2013, after which the fifth-generation S-Class will go on sale. When that happens, three new variants of the S-Class will be available, including an all-new, range-topping S600 that brings back the Pullman moniker and may be better suited to competing with the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce.

There is absolutely no reason why any two-seat roadster should be fitted with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 developing 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, but I sure am glad that Mercedes-Benz doesn't see things that way.
Drop into the leather-lined cockpit of this $213,145 provocateur, floor the accelerator pedal as I did over and over again, and 60 miles per hour falls in a traction-limited 3.9 seconds. Top speed has been electronically held to 186 mph (this apparently saves Gulfstream jet owners from embarrassment). Forget the SL550 and SL63 AMG, the valets will trip over themselves attending to the tycoon driving this thoroughbred - it's the real deal.
Mercedes considering GLA-based crossover coupe
Wed, 30 Apr 2014BMW opened a whole Pandora's Box when it introduced the X6 back in 2008. Sure it made little sense, sacrificing all that "utility" for a little more "sport," but it's been a solid success for BMW - especially considering the nominal expense it cost to develop the X6 on top of the X5 on which it's based. Little wonder that, while BMW has already followed up with a smaller version in the form of the X4, other automakers are starting to catch up. And that includes Mercedes-Benz.
The German automaker is preparing to launch a new MLC, based on the M-Class but with a sportier silhouette, and previewed it with the Concept Coupe SUV at the Beijing Motor Show. But that's just the start, according to the latest report from Automotive News Europe.
Mercedes is reportedly considering spinning off an entire line of crossovers more for use on the road than off it. Which may go without saying for most crossovers on the market, but considering the Geländwagen with which Mercedes got its start in SUVs, would mean an even further departure than it has undertaken already.
