A Beautiful and Rare example of a 1987 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 16V Cosworth with only 96410 actual miles. This Mercedes has been collector car owned, garage kept and never smoked in. It has never been involved in any accidents and looks to have most if not all of its original factory paint. A perfectly clean Carfax report is available upon request.
This 2.3 16V runs as good as it looks. It has been very well maintained and many Mercedes service records are present. The 4-cylinder engine runs super smooth and has very quick acceleration. The rare optioned 4 speed automatic transmission shifts flawlessly through all gears. This 190E drives down the road very smooth and tight with no shakes, rattles or vibrations. All power features are working properly including cold A/C, power seats, windows, locks, sunroof, mirror, instrument gauges and even power antenna. The oil temp, stop watch and battery gauge only found on a 2.3 16V work perfectly. The outside temperature gauge and clock do not. The original Becker Grand Prix stereo/tape player works but has some static through the speakers.
The Smoke Silver paint looks to be mostly factory original and has a nice glossy finish especially for a 27 year old car. The body is laser straight, completely rust free and shows zero signs of body work. The roof has some fading from the sun and a couple blemishes from the clear chipping away. There are a few scratches and stone chips present but nothing significant. Brand new Bosch headlight doors were just installed to freshen up its iconic front end appearance. 17" AMG style wheels with newer Continental Extreme tires have been added to enhance the sport look.
The interior is as beautiful as the exterior showing very minimal wear on the original black leather Recaro seats. The original carpets, door panels headliner and Zebrano wood console all look excellent as well. The dash does show 2 very small inevitable hairline cracks. Both vanity mirror covers are intact and illuminate when opened.
Included with the sale are the original owners manuals, service history receipts, dash cover, front end bracket for a US license plate, tool kit and completely original and unused spare wheel, tire and jack.
Please call me with any questions you may have or for more photos of this beautiful and rare 1987 Mercedes-Benz 190 2.3 16V.

How could a lifted Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG be more awesome? Add an axle
Fri, 01 Mar 2013We are fully confident in saying that this will be the most amazing thing you see all day. First of all, it's a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen - in AMG spec, no less. And it's being shown off in high-definition video glory, blasting through the desert, jumping over sand dunes, and generally being awesome. But here's the kicker: It has six wheels. Three axles. And they're all driven. Holy $%!#.
Under the hood is AMG's usual 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, and total output is rated at 536 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. That's impressive and all, but do keep in mind that the G63 6x6 weighs in at 8,322 pounds or, you know, the weight of two E-Class sedans. Combine that with its 18 inches of ground clearance, 37-inch tires and five locking differentials and you've got a vehicle capable of, well, everything you've ever imagined or will ever imagine for the rest of your life.
But the goodness doesn't stop once you open the doors. Oh, no. This thing is fit for a king - or a sheik, more appropriately - with ultimately luxurious seating for four. The rear bench seat has been removed in favor of two bucket seats with a fixed console in the middle, and the rear seats have been moved back beyond the usual B pillar to allow for more legroom.
Henrik Fisker interview, and driving the Polestar 2 | Autoblog Podcast #643
Thu, Sep 3 2020In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder. They've been driving the updated 2021 Honda Odyssey, the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 and the new Polestar 2 electric sedan. After reviewing those, they talk about how the Chrysler 300 appears to be withering on the vine. Next, they take time to talk to legendary automotive designer and eponymous Chairman & CEO of Fisker Inc., Mr. Henrik Fisker himself, about jeans, horses and, of course, electric cars. Finally, they help a listener pick a $100,000 supercar in the "Spend My Money" segment. Range Rover versus Mercedes-Benz: Which makes a more appealing SUV?
Mon, Aug 14 2017From time to time — truth be told, all the time — the Autoblog staff enjoys a good debate on the merits and demerits of the cars and trucks we drive each week. This week, we spent some time in a brand-new Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged SUV, a model some of us think sits at the pinnacle of the luxury utility vehicle segment. Others disagree. The following is a real-life online debate that took place over the course of a few hours. Have a read, and feel free to take sides. There's a poll at the end so you can make your voice heard. Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski: Strange as it may sound, Jeremy Clarkson and I have a few things in common, most obvious of which is that we share a given name. But we also both love cars so much that we decided to turn our automotive passion into a career — with varying degrees of success, of course — and we both have come to realize over time that there's no point in trying to topple the Land Rover Range Rover as the world's best luxury off-road utility vehicle. Thing is, this universal truth isn't quite as universally shared as I think it should be. In fact, my esteemed colleague Alex Kierstein believes that Mercedes-Benz makes the most desirable four-wheel-drive off-road vehicles. He's clearly wrong, but I feel obligated to let him explain his choice, though it won't go without a rebuttal. Senior Editor Alex Kierstein: That's correct, and so am I in this regard. I'm sorry, Jeremy, but it's an irrefutable fact that Mercedes-Benz is doing the best interiors in the business now. And the interior is where you're going to spend most of your time, at least when the thing's running. The Range Rover's interior simply isn't as special, and frankly it'll be in the shop enough that you won't enjoy it. Now, stepping into pretty much any contemporary Mercedes sedan interior is a "wow" moment. They seem special — posh, exclusive, luxurious. The SUVs, all older vehicles coming due for total redesigns at some point in the future, are lagging a bit, but it's still a premium and upscale experience. Especially since performance is almost academic at this point. Anything in this class is going to be powerful, almost absurdly so. So why not go for the one that makes you feel like royalty, rather than your mechanic? JK: I just want to point out that it was you who brought reliability into this discussion.
