Here is my 1979 Mazda RX-7. This is a collectors car since it was the first year it was made. The value will only go up over the years. It has the 12A Rotary Engine and 5 speed transmission. It was built buy an old racer guy a few years ago to race in a local rally car event but he never raced it. It has a roll cage in it and it sounds really mean.
Here are all the modifications that have been done to it. If you don't know what they are please google them and they'll come right up.
-Upgraded to the 1985 5 speed transmission
-Nikki Carburetor stripped (all the solenoids and diaphragms removed)
-Upgraded Intake manifold ported and polished
-Upgraded to the 1985 distributor with CDI electronic ignition (eliminated the points setup)
-2.5" Custom Exhaust from motor to tail pipe. It's pretty loud and raspy
-6 point roll cage
-OMP Eliminated (which means you have to PREMIX GAS but it's safer and better and not a lot 100:1)
-Rat's Nest Removed
-Fuel Regulator
-Rally Lights
-Hood Pins
-Fire Extinguisher
Other things that have been done recently:
-Fresh Oil
-Fresh Coolant
-New Spark Plugs
-New Cap and Rotor
-New Spark Plug Wires
-New Battery
-New Alternator
-New Fuel Filter
It has more power than stock and sounds really mean because of the modifications. The only draw back to the mods is that it's a little hard to start when it's cold out but after its running for a minute it purrs and runs perfect. It shifts through all 5 gears and reverse great, the clutch feels great with lots of grab. Everything works including the pop up headlights, hatch release, rear defrost, windows, signals, horn, lights, It has a pop-up moon roof that is removable too. This is a quick, light, nimble fun little car to drive.
The interior is in very good shape. There's one rip in the driver seat and that's it. The body is in good shape too. It has a couple small bumps and bruises but nothing major. All the glass is in good shape. It's very nice and clean for it's age. I don't see any rust anywhere. If you want me to take pictures of a particular area please email me.
It has 53K miles on the speedo and I'm told those are original miles.

Automotive Grade Linux will be the backbone of your connected car
Fri, Jan 6 2017Creating a backend for a secure, reliable, and expandable infotainment system is costly and time consuming. The Linux Foundation, a non-profit organization, has set out to promote and advance the Linux operating system in commercial products. Automotive Grade Linux, or AGL, is a group within the Foundation that seeks to apply a Linux backend to a number of automotive applications in a variety of vehicles from various suppliers and manufacturers. AGL's goal is to create a common, unifying framework that allows developers and manufacturers to easily implement applications across platforms. Currently, the focus is on infotainment systems, but AGL has plans for instrument clusters, heads-up displays, and eventually active safety software. At CES, a display from Panasonic showed a completely digital and customizable dashboard that allows information and apps to be moved from the gauge cluster to the infotainment screen and back, all through the use of gesture and touch controls. Although the organization has been around for five years, it's really only been in the past three that the group has been working hand in hand with automakers and suppliers. The first two OEMs to participate, Toyota and Jaguar Land Rover, have since been joined by Mazda, Suzuki, Ford, and, as of this week, Daimler. The latter is important as until now most of AGL's partner's have been based in Japan or the US. Other partners include suppliers Denso, Renesas, Continental, Qualcomm, and Intel. AGL want's to supply roughly 80 percent of the backend, allowing partners to then finish and refine the Linux system for each individual application. Think of how the Android operating system is refined and customized for individual smartphones from Samsung, LG, and Motorola. While the final product looks different, developers can have an application that will work across all AGL systems. Because it is open source, anyone can use and develop for AGL. You can even go onto the group's website and download a copy right now. There is also a software development kit available that helps facilitate app creation on the platform. Vehicle development cycles take roughly five years, so there currently are no cars that run an AGL backbone available for consumers. AGL Executive Director Dan Cauchy says products should be hitting the market later this year, with even more coming in 2018. Right now, the industry is relatively fragmented when it comes to infotainment and related systems.
Fiat 124 Abarth Spider spied, may get Alfa 4C power
Tue, Jul 14 2015We've long been excited to see, hear, and drive the car that results from the in-process Fiat-Mazda partnership. The Italian brand has had access to the excellent 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata on which to base its own roadster, and the fruits of that labor will soon ripen. Spied here is not only the ensuing Fiat 124, but a hotter Abarth tuned version of the spider. At least, that's what we're hoping. Our spy shooters indicated that the car seen here not only sounded more aggressive than 'standard' 124 mules seen previously, but that it also accelerated away from their long lenses with a smartness. The 124 Spider is already rumored to make use of the 1.4-liter turbo I4 that makes 160 horsepower in the Fiat 500 Abarth, and this version may have a still-more-powerful engine. Another tell about the added output are the quad tailpipes in place of the lesser car's set of two. There's no hard evidence to support exactly which engine might be under the 124's hood, however. It's possible that the 1.7-liter turbo from Alfa Romeo 4C could be in play – with its 237-hp output – as the 124 was originally going to wear an Alfa badge. If that were to happen, however, the Fiat would almost certainly get a dual-clutch transmission instead of the purer manual box. In any event, more details about the car will no doubt crop up closer to the expected reveal this fall. Related Video:
