I purchased this car in 2008 or '09 from a reputable dealer who I was acquainted with. At the time it had about 20,000 miles on it. It has been a excellent and reliable car. The only reason I am selling it is because I purchased my best friend's car who moved across the country. I have never had any major repairs or accidents. Routine oil changes, very prompt about that, tires, brakes, etc... Great car for winter driving. I live out in the country with a steep and long driveway and have never had a problem. I did purchase snow tires and steel wheels for winter. I do have two sets of alum wheels, for some reason I purchased another set thinking - snow tires. The picture posted is with the steel wheels and snow tires on the front. Never removed them because I was contemplating keeping the car for winter driving only. Exterior excellent except for a few minor scratches on mirrors due to getting to close to mailbox, inside excellent. A/C excellent, 6 disc player excellent. I have taken excellent care of this vehicle and it has been a pleasure owning it

Mazda's Hofu plant builds its ten-millionth car
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Ten million is a lot no matter which way you cut it, and no matter what you're talking about: Ten million dollars, ten million miles, ten million people... certainly ten million cars. And that's the milestone that Mazda's Hofu plant in Yamaguchi prefecture of Japan has just achieved.
The Hofu facility has been in operation since 1982, and was supplemented with a second plant on the same site ten years later. Hofu reached a million units built in 1986 and five million in 2002. But with production now at 482,100 units per year, it took less than twelve years to double that previous milestone.
The magic ten-millionth car was a new Mazda6 (known locally as the Atenza), which is built at Hofu Plant No. 2, while Hofu Plant No. 1 gears up for the new Mazda3 (aka Axela). Scroll down below for a related press release.
Feds investigating 2010-11 Mazda CX-9 CUVs over braking issues
Mon, 17 Feb 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating 62,000, 2010-2011 Mazda CX-9 models over brake problems. The government safety watchdog says it has received seven complaints of an observed loss of power braking power to stop the crossover, according to the The Detroit News.
The NHTSA complaints say that the problem causes a hard pedal, increased braking effort and reduced braking effectiveness. Some complaints allege that they hear a hissing noise during braking similar to the sound of air leaving the tires. No injuries or crashes have been reported.
"As always, we are fully cooperating with NHTSA on their investigation. We cannot comment further at this time," said Mazda spokesperson Tamara Mlynarczyk to The Detroit News.
Mazda begins building Mazda3 in Mexico for US
Tue, 07 Jan 2014With fluctuations in international currencies and rising shipping costs to take into account, foreign automakers can't get away with building cars overseas and selling them in North America as easily as they used to. Particularly with inexpensive mainstream models. And given the benefits of cheaper labor and free trade under NAFTA, many have opted to assemble their cars for the North American market in Mexico. That's why the likes of Toyota, Mercedes and BMW have all opened plants in Mexico. And now Mazda has followed suit.
Ground was initially broken for Mazda de Mexico Vehicle Operations at Salamanca in the state of Gunajuato back in 2011, but production has just now gotten under way. The first vehicle to roll off the line? A Mazda3 sedan destined for the United States. Soon, the plant will begin production of the next Mazda2 as well, selling it alongside its larger counterpart across the Americas and in Europe as production expands to 230,000 units annually.
