Up for sale is a 2007 Mazdaspeed 6 Grand Touring, 79,xxx mi., daily driven, black on black, sunroof, 2.3l turbo, 6-speed manual w/ Sure short shifter, custom front mount intercooler, HKS diverter valve, Cobb intake, Cobb access port tuning (tuner included), upgraded fuel pressure regulator (believe its the same as the GTi's), bc racing adjustible coilovers, 19x8 RX-8 factory BBS wheels, downpipe, custom Magnaflow exhaust, 289 whp/ 286 tq (have Dyno sheet) , factory Bose sound system, heated front seats.  It has just about every option possible but the Sat Nav.  Auction also includes the Access Port Tuner and factory parts (factory air box, top mount intercooler, factory diverter valve, etc.).  New turbo (k04), replaced on recall from Mazda and the chain guides were done around the same time.  Clean carfax (I have most of the records from the previous owner, as well as the records for the repairs/maintenance I have done).  I have a loan on the car which is held by a local bank, but the title is clean.  We can meet at the bank to complete the paperwork, and you are on your way with your new car!  

When I first got the car, I did a coolant flush, clean (coolant system cleaner), and "upgrade"(if you will) to Zerex asian blend. At the same I replaced the thermostat since I was in there, along with the coolant temp. sensor.  I also replace the purge valve recently and cleaned the throttle body and MAF.  I also just serviced the driveline, i.e. fluid flush for diff, trans, and transfer case (reg sch. for every 40k), had the car aligned, replaced rear lower motor mount, and new passenger side front axle (over $1k in parts and labor). Just had the oil changed a week and a half ago.  The throttle occasionally bounces once or twice before coming to a complete stop, but I just read a post on the forums suggesting the AP's program needs to be updated, so I just wanted to disclose.  Brakes are in good condition, but the rear brakes may need to be done soon (still a good amount of pad left) as they will sometimes make a chatter/click noise.  Fronts are great.  Brakes were next on the list for upgrade (was going to replace once the pads were worn), so this is your opportunity to put a killer set of brakes on and get exactly what you want!  We are selling because we really need an SUV.  Contact me to set up a time to come look at the car or if you have any questions. Mazda shows lightweight MX-5 Spyder and Speedster at SEMA

Ever since Mazda dropped the first teaser on us last week, we've been looking forward to seeing what it had in store for us at SEMA this year. Now we've seen it what Mazda has dubbed the MX-5 Spyder and MX-5 Speedster, and they were worth the wait. The Spyder goes vintage with a silver paintjob and a brown top stretched overhead. It also has an aero kit, grille, and tonneau cover done up in carbon fiber, rides on 17-inch wheels, and features a natural leather interior. The blue Speedster, meanwhile, goes for the stripped-down, wind-in-your-hair experience. It has no roof or windshield, just a tiny deflector at the front of the dashboard. It's dropped an inch closer to the ground on an adjustable coilover suspension with 16-inch alloys, and features a center-exit exhaust. Carbon fiber helps trim 250 pounds from the curb weight, along with a stripped out interior trimmed in Alcantara. Both look pretty slick, and disappoint only in so far as they (like so many of their predecessor concepts) won't be heading for production. If they were, we'd be hard pressed to choose between the two. Which would you go for? But what if that sense of lightweight performance were taken to the extreme? Mazda's new Kodo design language is set to quickly spread across the automaker's entire lineup, judging by these spy shots of the next-generation Mazda3 that show some very familiar styling cues. No matter, we're impressed with what Mazda has done on the CX-5 crossover and Mazda6 sedan in terms of design, and we're happy to see the C-segment hatchback ditching the smile-for-a-mile Nagare design.
It's unclear what sort of architecture is found below the new Mazda3 - our spy shooters suggest that the car could simply be using a heavily massaged version of the Ford C1 platform found under the current car. Our best guess is that it's actually a reworked version of the platform used in the CX-5 crossover, however, chocked full of weight-saving Skyactiv technologies. After all, the CX-5 plays in the compact CUV segment, and those vehicles are commonly based on C-segment platforms. And besides, there's probably some economic savings at work with the new chassis - both in terms of fuel efficiency and economies of scale. Still, no one is totally certain what lies under all that black-and-white paper at the moment.
The new Mazda3 is targeted to arrive for the 2015 model year, meaning we could see a final production car debut as early as this year. We expect the hatch you see here to debut along with a traditional four-door sedan, and unless we hear otherwise, we don't doubt that a Mazdaspeed version will be far behind.

Next-gen Mazda MX-5 could use carbon fiber to cut weight

The current Mazda MX-5 Miata has only been out for a few years, but the automaker is allegedly looking for ways to lighten the next one. According to a report from Autocar, Mazda is looking to carbon fiber to help the next-generation MX-5 cut weight and use a smaller engine. Despite having more safety features, modern amenities, and a stiffer body, the current MX-5 is the same size as the original sports car from 1990 and weighs less than its immediate predecessor. In a recent interview with Autocar, Nobuhiro Yamamoto, head of the Miata program, revealed that the next generation of the Miata will probably stay the same size, but could be even lighter thanks to the utilization of carbon fiber. The current MX-5 uses high-strength steel and aluminum, and Mazda doesn't use carbon fiber in any of its cars. Carbon fiber is expensive to incorporate into road-going vehicles, and so Yamamoto notes that Mazda has been hard at work making it more affordable. A lighter car could result in a smaller engine, Yamamoto said. In the US, the MX-5 comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 155 horsepower, while the Japanese and European version comes with a 1.5-liter, 130-hp engine. A smaller engine would make the sports car even lighter. It's unknown at this time if the automaker is collaborating with another automaker or a supplier to make produce carbon fiber, or if it'll make it in-house. There's no word on how much carbon fiber the next MX-5 will wear or how it will affect the sports car's price. Autocar reports that the next MX-5 won't arrive anytime before 2021, which could make the ND MX-5's lifespan an unusually short five years long. With cars getting heavier, it's nice to hear that Mazda is working on finding a way to make its lightweight sports car even lighter.
