I bought this car at an insurance auction with the intent of selling the car to someone who needed an engine/transmission, or to part it out. I am going to try to sell it as a whole first, but if it does not sell for what I need, I will list everything separately. The car does run, and it would move, but the driver side front tire is touching the wheel well, so it can't spin. If I take the tire off everything spins as it should.

Usable parts:

Engine with turbo and intercooler, transmission, ecu are all in great shape (low miles)

3 wheels are usable, but only 1 wheel is undamaged.

2 18" Yokohama tires are usable, but only 2 are undamaged

All seats are usable, but the driver seat has the airbag blown and would have to be sewn or replaced

The gauge cluster and misc dash parts are good

The carpet is nice

The complete exhaust is good from the turbo back

both driver side doors are good

The rear hatch with spoiler is good with a ding and a couple scratches on the hatch

3 out of the 4 tail lights are good (driver side outer is cracked)

Jay Leno celebrates Mazda Miata's 25th birthday

Ask a car enthusiast what the best driver's car on the road is, and the Mazda MX-5 Miata is very likely to come up rather quickly. Unjustly saddled with a reputation as a "chick's car," the Miata has been, over its three generations, one of the finest driving instruments ever built - it's light, agile and rear-wheel drive with direct, snappy steering, an engine that revels in being revved and a precise, smooth-shifting transmission. The fact that it's ridiculously affordable and reliable is simply a bonus.
It should come as no surprise then, that a car with these traits has endured for 25 years, a milestone reached only by some of the most famous nameplates in the auto industry - Corvette, Mustang, F-150, SL, M3 and so on. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Jay Leno spent some time with the little roadster that could, while also chatting with two of the Mazda employees that were central to the MX-5's arrival on the world's automotive scene, Bob Hall and Tom Matano.

Jay Leno brings a rotary-powered VW Beetle to the garage

It takes something really unique or inventive to pique Jay Leno's interest. His show, Jay Leno's Garage, has featured everything from concours-worthy classics to completely custom, home-built machinery. How do you get Leno to feature one of more than 20 million Beetles on his program? Stick a turbocharged rotary engine under the hood. The Beetle's owner, Mario Markakis, swapped the car's stock flat four-cylinder for the Wankel engine from a 1990 Mazda RX-7 Series 5 Turbo. The engine's 250 horsepower are fed through a reinforced version of the Beetle's stock four-speed transmission. That's about five times the original engine's output. It works well, with the car putting down some impressive times at the drag strip. Markakis did most of the work to the Beetle in his garage.
