Beautiful, one of a kind Classic Red 2001 Mazda Miata. The standard 1.8L engine and 5 speed manual runs beautifully and shifts flawlessly. This little beauty has over $8000 of extras and upgrades on her! And just in time for summer. This excellent example of a Miata is running the much sought after Kenne Bell Supercharger kit. It also comes equipped with a Borla racing dual exhaust and Greddy E-manage ultimate, which takes care of properly running timing and fuel management for the supercharger. This beauty also comes with two full sets of wheels(one summer set and one all-season set). The original wheels come with the all season tires, and the other set is a combo of LS Limited wheels and high performance summer tires. This Miata also has a custom push button start out of a Honda S2000. A color matched red hardtop to keep you warm when the temps start to drop is also included, these hardtops are very desirable and tend to go for $1000 and up used. Of course as a 12 year old car, she does show some wear, and has the usual highway chip marks on the hood. But even with the signs of age she shows, I always get compliments on how great it looks, and how it looks much newer than it is. This is truly a one of a kind, and extremely fun to drive Miata. If you are looking for the most fun and enjoyable drive you can have, no need to look any further than this two seater convertible. Huet Brothers working on new Miata-based retro coupe
Wed, 14 May 2014Does the name Huet ring a bell? The Dutch brothers started out doing classic car tours in Europe before they started designed and building their own retro sports cars. The first was called the Huet Brothers Special. It was based on an old Triumph TR6 and surfaced back in 2009. But a few years later they started showing designs for a new coupe that called for a straight-six engine under a long bonnet with a fastback roofline, and started taking orders. Over the past two and a half years we didn't see anything materialize out of the Huet Brothers' plans, but word out of the Netherlands has it that the design is back on the table.
According to the Autovisie section of Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Tino and Paul Huet were planning on building their coupe on the base of the MX-5 Miata. But now that Mazda is preparing to launch an all-new model, the Huets have decided to wait until next year and build their dream car on the new Skyactiv roadster chassis.
Rather than trying to shoehorn in a bigger engine (or the subsequent diesel model that was set to follow), the Huets are reportedly prepared to stick with Mazda's four-pot, offering it in stock form and various states of upgraded tune.
Updated Mazda6 Wagon to look lovely in Geneva
Tue, Feb 6 2018For the 2018 model year, Mazda updated the Mazda6 sedan with some design and mechanical tweaks. It will take the stand for its European debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. There, it will be staged alongside the Mazda6 Wagon, which will be getting its own global debut at the Swiss expo. Unless there's some sort of miracle, we won't be getting the five-door version here in the United States, which is a shame, because it's a beautiful wagon. Customers here — apart from a handful of die-hard fans and, perhaps, the entirety of the American automotive press — prefer something with a bit more elevation to it. Ask a Mazda dealer in Michigan or Arizona for a Mazda6 Wagon, and they'll probably try to sell you a CX-5 instead. That frustrates the wagon fans. "It's gorgeous," said Autoblog Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale. "It kills me that we don't get it." The Mazda6 Wagon, like the new sedan, features an updated exterior and interior design, new seating, better performance, and improved driving dynamics. The Mazda6 Wagon will be on the show floor with a number of other beautiful cars, including the Mazda Kai and Vision Coupe concepts, which bowed at the Tokyo show. Mazda will also showcase its new gasoline-powered Skyactiv-X spark controlled compression ignition, which we were recently able to test in a prototype vehicle. Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?
Thu, 25 Sep 2014People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.
