Only 19,600 Miles With Tan Leather Interior, Torsen Lsd And Power Everything on 2040-cars

Year:1995 Mileage:19623 Color: and tan interior is quite rare on these cars
Location:

San Diego, California, United States

San Diego, California, United States

This Miata has spent it's life in Southern California, primarily in the previous owner's garage (1 previous owner - title shows 2 previous owners as he transferred it into a trust a few years after he bought it).  It has been properly maintained and comes with all maintenance records from new, even the original window sticker comes with the file on this car.

The car is pristine and does not look like it is almost 19 years old.  The paint is excellent, wheels do not have any curb rash and even the convertible vinyl roof looks like it has barely been used.  The leather interior is  like new and looks like it was regularly conditioned to keep it in perfect shape.  I believe the combination of white exterior and tan interior is quite rare on these cars.  In addition, the car is fully loaded so I think there are extremely few Miatas of this vintage around with the same equipment level and color combination.

Options on this car:
Air Con (works perfectly)
Miata floor mats
Tan leather interior
Leather steering wheel
Headrest speakers
Alloy wheel and locks
Torsen LSD
Cruise Control
Tan Top - perfect condition - the plastic window is remarkably clear
Power Steering
Power mirrors
Power antenna
Power windows
The options cost an additional $3,965 new (I have the window sticker)

I can't think of any negatives - even the underside still looks new.......  The only very minor blemish is behind the front license plate where it put a small mark in the paint (the plate must have been temporarily pushed against the bumper) - but this is hidden behind the plate.

Most Miatas in Southern California are driven regularly (great climate) so generally they rack up the miles very quickly.  This is one of the few that has the best of both worlds - low miles and pristine condition that is generally only found in cars located in dry climates.  I don't think this car was ever driven in the rain - no mud or dirt on the underside.

Interested bidders are encourage to come and look at the car in San Diego.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Serious bidders only please.

Mazda recalling 88k vehicles for ECU glitch

Fri, 04 Apr 2014

Need a break from news about the General Motors ignition switch recall? This Mazda recall should serve as a nice change of pace. It involves 88,000 cars across the globe, and focuses on the brand's three most recent (and important) models - the Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5.
The issue rests with Mazda's new i-ELOOP regenerative braking system. Apparently there's a problem with the ECU program that monitors whether a capacitor in the regen system is working. Acceleration is affected, and in severe cases, the engine could stall. There have been no mention of accidents or injuries due to the issue, and the glitch itself can be cured by an ECU reflash.
As i-ELOOP is a fairly new system for Mazda, particularly in the US, the total number of affected models is rather low, with just 6,500 US cars affected. Europe is hit hardest, with 38,000 models while Mazda's home market of Japan adds 27,600 cars and crossovers. Affected models were built between October 2012 and January 2014.

Mazda's awesome Hiroshima museum now navigable by Google Maps

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

Visiting an auto museum is one of the best ways we know to connect with car culture and to commune with the past and bone up on one's knowledge. Most of us have a decent museum within a few hours drive of where we live, but that doesn't mean it's easy to see the world's great collections - factors like cost, time and mobility can get in the way. Videos are great, but they don't allow us to browse at our own pace or choose what we'd like to focus on. The folks behind Google Maps have a solution - the virtual museum tour, as seen here at Mazda's fantastic museum in Hiroshima, Japan.
The Google Maps tour allows viewers to take a walk through the main exhibition area of the museum, and you can focus on specific classic cars from Mazda, or check out displays featuring new technologies like Skyactiv. To take a quick spin through the museum - or a leisurely stroll at your own pace - scroll down to start your own virtual tour.

Mazda's Hofu plant builds its ten-millionth car

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Ten million is a lot no matter which way you cut it, and no matter what you're talking about: Ten million dollars, ten million miles, ten million people... certainly ten million cars. And that's the milestone that Mazda's Hofu plant in Yamaguchi prefecture of Japan has just achieved.
The Hofu facility has been in operation since 1982, and was supplemented with a second plant on the same site ten years later. Hofu reached a million units built in 1986 and five million in 2002. But with production now at 482,100 units per year, it took less than twelve years to double that previous milestone.
The magic ten-millionth car was a new Mazda6 (known locally as the Atenza), which is built at Hofu Plant No. 2, while Hofu Plant No. 1 gears up for the new Mazda3 (aka Axela). Scroll down below for a related press release.
