5 Speeds 2000 Mazda Miata Ls Conv 2-door 1.8l (excellent) Low Miles, clean Title. on 2040-cars
Saint Louis, Missouri, United States
For sale by a PRIVATE OWNER so no surprise fees or anything of that sort and YES NO RESERVE. Very clean, well maintained 2000 Miata. Currently has 48,xxx ORIGINAL documented miles and will go up since its my daily driver. Almost 10K of these miles are highway miles between states in road-trips between me and the previous owners. 5 speeds stick shift with power mirrors, power windows, cruise control, AC/heat both work. Its the upgraded LS that comes with leather interiors and the Bose system. I drove it all the way 14 hours straight from PA state on May without any single issue. Has upgraded stuff like: - Slotted rotors all the way. - Rear spolier. - Cold air intake. - Strut tower brace. - Muffler ( sound awesome). - Chrome gas tank door. - Ground effect. - Foglight (not working, needs a fuze I think) The roll-bar you see in the photos has been removed and I installed the stock wind-blocker so the car will NOT be sold with the roll-bar. Rear tires are almost new and the front still have more than 80% left. Not a single mechanic issue, no burning, no leaks, no vibration, no over heating, no check engine light, drives straight. No rust, no dings, no cracks, no door dings, no scuffs, paint is shiny. Convertible soft top has no tears or any damage, its in a very good condition with the leather seats. I have a clean CarFax ( no accidents, no lien, miles documented ). I also have a clean clear MO title under my name and READY to sell, no liens/loans. Passed MO state safety and emission 2 months ago with flying colors. You will not be disappointed. NO RESERVE so bid with confidence. I own it since couple months but getting tired from driving a stick shift due to an old knee surgery. 500$ down-payment immediate via PayPal upon winning the auction and the rest of the money to be paid in CASH upon picking up the vehicle. I am willing to pick you up from the airport if needed. Winning bidder has to pick-up the car on weekends ONLY ( Saturday-Sunday) due to my work schedule. |

White House clears way for NHTSA to mandate vehicle black boxes
Fri, 07 Dec 2012At present, over 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States today are equipped with event data recorders, more commonly known as black boxes. If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gets its way, that already high figure will swell to a full 100 percent in short order.
Such automotive black boxes have been in existence since the 1990s, and all current Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Toyota vehicles are so equipped. NHTSA has been attempting to make these data recorders mandatory for automakers, and according to The Detroit News, the White House Office of Management Budget has just finished reviewing the proposal, clearing the way. Now NHTSA is expected to draft new legislation to make the boxes a requirement.
One problem with current black boxes is that there's no set of standards for automakers to follow when creating what bits of data are recorded, and for how long or in what format it is stored. In other words, one automaker's box is probably not compatible with its competitors.
Recharge Wrap-up: Mazda, Toyota earn environmental awards
Tue, Nov 10 2015Electric mobility nonprofit Drive Oregon has launched a campaign to invite the electric car industry to perform testing in the state. The campaign tells companies to, "Test Drive the Future in the Living Lab," citing Oregon's density of EV owners and charging infrastructure, varied terrain and climate, funding opportunities, and the state's technological reputation as the "Silicon Forest." Plus, as Drive Oregon Executive Director Jeff Allen, points out, "if you really screw things up here, it doesn't make as much noise as it would in California." Already, Jaguar Land Rover has announced plans for an Innovation Incubator in Oregon. Read more at Green Car Reports. Mazda's new paint system has won the Prime Minister's Award in the category of Manufacturing and Production Process at the 6th Monodzukuri Nippon Grand Award ceremony. Mazda's Aqua-tech paint system significantly reduces emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and CO2. The Aqua-tech system uses a water-based color basecoat and a urethane clear coat to reduce VOC emissions by 57 percent. It consolidates the painting process and reduces energy in paint-booth air-conditioning and flash-off processes to reduce energy consumption. It also allows Mazda to create such colors as Soul Red, which looks quite nice on the MX-5 Miata. Read more at Green Car Congress, and learn all about the Aqua-tech paint process from Mazda. More 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary editions are heading to America
Tue, May 14 2019The 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary edition made its debut a few months back at this year's Chicago Auto Show. The special model was limited to just 3,000 units worldwide, with just 500 heading to the U.S. Miata enthusiasts were so excited by the car that the entire allotment sold out within four hours. To help satisfy demand for this limited edition model, Mazda is allocating another 143 cars for the American market, bringing the total number of cars heading to the U.S. to 643. Note, Mazda is still only building 3,000 cars total. The 30th Anniversary Miata is available as both a roadster and the retractable hardtop Miata RF. All of them will be painted Racing Orange and will be fitted with RAYS ZE40 17-inch forged alloy wheels, orange Brembo brake calipers and Recaro seats. The cars also come with a Bose audio system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The cars still retain the 2019 Miata's updated 2.0-liter inline-four making 181 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. Cars equipped with the manual transmission get a limited-slip differential, Bilstein shocks and a front shock tower brace. This special edition isn't cheap. The manual soft top starts at $35,915, and the manual RF starts at $38,515. Adding an automatic ups the price by $499 on the soft top and $400 on the RF. That's up from $27,080 for a base roadster and $32,945 for a base Miata RF.
