Other than these issues the car is absolutely flawless."

Hello and welcome to the auction for my Flawless 1996 supercharged Mazda Miata with only 20,884 original miles. I purchased the car 8.5 years ago with only 12,500 miles and have enjoyed the car very much. I'm the 3rd owner and purchased the car from a couple that was retiring and moving to Florida, the first owner passed away and left it to the 2nd owner. Back when I purchased the car it was bone stock so I decided to make a few tastefull modifications. The original paint holds a very high luster and is so bright that my camera detected  blinks while taking pictures. The exterior has NO dings, dents or scratches and has always been stored in a climate controlled garage. The interior is very nice and shows only some fray marks on the drivers seat. Under the hood is extremely clean and is ready to show off at a moments notice. The under side of the car looks as good as the rest of it (in other words flawless). This reliable Miata runs, shifts and drives perfectly and is ready for any road trip you can dream up. Here is a list of what I have done to the car over the last 8.5 years.

Jackson Racing Supercharger

Chapperal Wheels 15x7 38mm off set

Falkon ziex tires 205/50-15

Drilled/ slotted rotors and painted calipers

Turn signal air intakes (perfect paint match)

Rear spoiler (perfect paint match)

Clear side marker lights, trunk light, and custom tail lights and fog lights

Custom exhaust (NOT LOUD just a little over stock)

Apex lowering spring (1" front, 1.5" rear) Still rides very nice

Pioneer head unit, headrest speakers, Polk door speakers, custom stealth subwoofer enclose with 8" Polk subs (I like my music to sound good)

Nose screen

Powder coated valve cover, outlet manifold, air box and few chrome accents under the hood

This flawless Miata has only been adult driven in nice weather from May-October and has always been well maintained and cared for. It has never seen a winter and is caught in the rain maybe 2-3 times a season This car has never been raced or beat on and has only seen one driver being ME in the last 8.5 years. The Jackson Racing Supercharger really wakes up this little roadster and pulls nice and smooth and shifts perfectly. Inside and out this car looks as if it was stored in a bubble and will be hard pressed to find another this clean that is still in it's stock form.  In the end this is an amazing opportunity for those of you looking for a first generation Miata with very low miles in this condition. If you have any question or would like to see the car (weather permitting) please feel free to contact me via email or call Rob @ 860 559-4869. Please do not bid on the car unless you plan to purchase the car (it's that simple). If you are local payment will be in the form of cash, if you are shipping payment will be in the form of a certified bank check. Car and paperwork will not be released until payment is cleared by my bank. If you need shipping I will help in anyway I can but the cost is the buyers expense. Please enjoy the pictures and happy bidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mazda spiders return, 42k Mazda6 sedans recalled for webby fuel tanks

Sat, 05 Apr 2014

It seems that Yellow Sac spiders really, really love Mazda. Three years after Mazda recalled 52,000 Mazda6 sedans over spider webs obstructing the evaporative canister vent lines of 2009 and 2010 Mazda6 models, another recall has been issued for 42,000 more of the models built between 2010 and 2012 and equipped with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.
According to the automaker, there have been nine confirmed sightings of spiders in vent lines since the original recall. It seems that covers were applied at the factory to keep the arachnids from entering, but it hasn't quite exterminated the problem. A reflash of the ECU is required that "[changes] the logic behind how the car purges the charcoal canister during normal operation," says Jeremy Barnes, Director, Public Relations & Brand Experience at Mazda North American Operations.
So far, Mazda has not recorded any fires, accidents or injuries due to this tangled mess of webs. Recall notices will be mailed out to owners later this month. Scroll down below for the statement from Mazda, along with the official recall notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Mazda working on lithium-ion batteries to replace lead-acid starter batteries

Mon, Mar 19 2018

In the quest for ever better fuel economy, car companies are looking for every single advantage possible, no matter how small. This is evident in everything from active grille shutters to the 48-volt mild-hybrid electric assist systems like that in the new Ram 1500. For Mazda, the latest target for potential efficiency gains is the lowly 12-volt starter battery. The company announced that it is partnering with two other companies, ELIIY Power and Ube Industries, to develop a lithium-ion starter battery that would be used on mainstream models in place of conventional lead-acid units. Mazda plans to have them ready for use by 2021. The advantage here would be that 12-volt lithium-ion batteries would be much smaller and lighter than the lead-acid ones they replace. And lighter cars don't need as much fuel to move around. Plus, as an added benefit, making cars lighter also often makes them faster and better handling. This is why companies such as Lotus and Porsche have offered optional lithium-ion 12-volt batteries for some lightweight sports cars. A potential downside to the use of these batteries is increased cost. Lead-acid batteries from your local parts store will run you between $100 to $150. AGM batteries could be between $200 and $300. As for lithium-ion batteries, Lotus introduced the option on the Evora 400 in 2016, and the option cost $1,690. Odds are that a company such as Mazda won't be absorbing all those costs, meaning that the cost of these future Mazdas could increase with a change from lead-acid to lithium ion. Related Video:
