1996 Mazda Miata Mx 5 Motorhome Tow Vehicle on 2040-cars

For sale is my 1996 Mazda Miata 2door convertible. This vehicle runs great drives great. Best of all it gets 32+ mpg in town. About the car..I got the car from a friend that purchased a new convertible when he returned from Iraq. Sense I've had the car I've put new tires, brakes, front end alignments, paint and pinstripes.. He had installed a new AC compressor to and had AC serviced at the dealership. It blows cold! What else,,,oh I added a chrome roll/crash bar behind the seats. The pant job is about two years old. The car is set up to be towed behind a motorhome. I have towed it several hundred miles and have had zero problems. It's so small and light you can't tell it's back there. I also added a pioneer touch screen with nav along with Rockford Fosgate speakers. The only cosmetic blinis he's are on the front where some of the paint is chipped when I dropped the tow bar trying to hook it up by myself. There is also a spot where the paint is starting to peal on the same plastic bumper, otherwise the car runs and looks very good for it age and mileage. It does not smoke or make any engine noise except for an occasional belt squeak. I have a new belt in the trunk along with an oil filter. The seats have covers as the drivers side shows signs of wear. If your interested or have question. Just email me with any questions or concerns. I want whoever buy it to be as happy as I was when I purchased it. I've tried to describe it as best as I can. The reason I'm selling is I recently purchased another car and I don't have room for them all and one has to go. This is a fun little car to drive and I'm going to miss it. The pinstripes were custom as I'm a huge FSU fan and would drive/tow this car to the games but they can be easily removed in case your a UF fan or something.lol |

Mazda Miata could get retractable hardtop in New York
Fri, Mar 11 2016The upcoming New York Auto Show just got a little more exciting because Mazda could debut the latest MX-5 Miata with a power retractable hardtop there. The best evidence comes from Autocar, which has an image of Mazda's invitation. The message promises a "world premiere" in the Big Apple and further teases, "Help us blow the lid off the New York Auto Show." The last Miata PRHT made up 52 percent of the roadster's sales mix in the US, so creating another one is an easy decision for the company. According to Autocar, expect the new roof mechanism to be lighter and more compact than the previous design. It would still add some weight compared to the cloth top, but customers would get the added insulation and security from the hardtop. With the NC PRHT as a guide, don't expect many changes for the new other than the roof. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 155 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque with either the six-speed manual or automatic should still make for an exciting drive. The hardtop just makes life a little more comfortable if you have to deal with rain or snow for part of the year. We can't wait to see it. Related Video:
Takata air bag recall list
Tue, Dec 9 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed yesterday that 33.8 million vehicles with Takata airbags are going to be recalled. It's the largest recall in automotive history. The already record-breaking rate of automotive recalls this year shows no signs of slowing down, especially since millions of cars with defective airbags made by global supplier Takata are under ongoing scrutiny. The federal government is warning owners that inflator mechanisms in the air bags can rupture, causing metal fragments to fly out when the bags are deployed. The faulty air bags have already been blamed for multiple deaths. How do you know if your vehicle is safe? The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released an updated list of vehicles under recall. Sometimes however, the government's website will crash and the list may not be complete. Check your VIN at the NHTSA website to make sure. The list of cars affected by the recall has not been released, but seem to span multiple models over the years for many of the automakers.
Sell your own: 2004 Mazda RX-8
Fri, Jun 2 2017Looking to sell your car? We make it both easy and free. Quickly create listings with up to six photos and reach millions of buyers. Log in and create your free listings. Combine "sports car" with "user-friendly" and, in most forums, you have yourself an oxymoron. Sports cars are – by definition – sporty, but rarely do they qualify as easy to use. One that did and, regrettably, has faded from the scene is Mazda's RX-8. Initially launched in 2003, and out of production within roughly a decade, the RX-8 was perhaps the rotary-powered answer to a question few – at the time – were asking. Happily, Mazda produced it anyway. With its front mid-engined platform, freestyle doors and +2 seating, the RX-8 came as close to offering day-in, day-out utility as anything this side of an extended-cab pickup. And its nod to practicality did little, if anything, to diminish the essential goodness of the menu. Mazda's design team provided a high-revving rotary, nimble handling and almost telepathic steering, combining them into a frenzy-filled dollop of locomotion. The result was no more than mildly fast and furious, but in properly motivated hands the RX-8 delivered a high level of entertainment for a relatively modest outlay. This for-sale example, a 2004 RX-8 with automatic transmission, requires just $6,000 and – not incidentally – the ability to buy into its premise. The automatic will be perceived by many to be a negative, but might also suggest a more gentle ownership history. And without benefit of a clutch and shifter, the new owner can concentrate on the driving, with the Mazda's absurdly direct steering and slot-car cornering. The asking price is on the high side (book average is about $5K), but know that similar cars might bring upwards of $8,000. And at 91,000 miles it's been used, but perhaps not used up.
