Up for sale is a 1995 Mazda MX-5 Miata. The Miata has 158k miles, a 4 cylinder engine, a manual transmission, cold AC, and power windows. It averages around 27 MPG highway and 21 city. The car is mechanically sound, and I haven't experienced any issues with it. It also has an aftermarket stereo (and two speakers) with an Aux and USB port, easily allowing you to listen to your own music.

I had purchased the car in December 2012  from a dealership who'm received it in a trade in. They did a plethora of work to it including a new exhaust system, rear trans seal, crankshaft, timing belt, and AC. It's in great shape, and upon purchase I also received a clean Carfax.

It's a great car to run around in (definitely with the top down!) and I'm only selling it due to recently purchasing a truck.

There is a small tear near the bottom of the plastic window (very common in these cars) as portrayed in the picture, it's not a big tear and I have clear tape covering the tear in order to prevent any water from getting it (and none has got in, it's a small tear.)

If you're interested, have any questions, would like to make an offer, or would like to come see the car, just shoot me an email.

I do have the car listed on craigslist and have the right to end this listing at any time.

Mazda Furai concept designer talks about his car's passing

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

Last week, there was mourning at the Autoblog offices as word trickled in that the Mazda Furai concept - one of the coolest, best-looking showcars to grace an auto show stage since the wild and crazy 1960s -had been killed. It was killed on the track with the folks from Top Gear in attendance. We're sure the gods of driving would have wanted it to die on a circuit, but that doesn't make its fiery passing any easier to deal with.
The Furai is the rare concept car that had a lasting appeal with enthusiasts, partly because it was a real, functioning racecar, complete with a wacky three-rotor Wankel engine and cutting-edge Nagare design. Now that it's gone, though, Road & Track's Mallory McMorrow, who was an intern at Mazda Design when the Furai was being styled in 2007, has published an interview with one of the men who penned the Mazda showcar's striking exterior, Carlos Salaff. It's a great piece on the emotional connection between a designer and his creation, and one you should take the time to read. Click on over to R&T for the full story.

Mazda CX-3 details come to light

Sun, 09 Dec 2012

Mazda may be working on a new CUV, according to Auto Express. Reportedly called the CX-3, the small crossover will be engineered to take on the likes of the Ford EcoSport and Nissan Juke, but with a focus on fuel efficiency and engaging driving characteristics.
The report names no sources, but says the CX-3 will benefit from a new small-displacement diesel engine. The 1.6-liter oil burner will be joined by a 1.3-liter gasoline engine when the vehicle debuts in 2014. Auto Express reports the model may bow as a front-wheel drive offering only, with no all-wheel-drive option.
And what will it look like? Word has it Mazda will continue to leverage the face we've seen on the current CX-5 (pictured). That means the company's shield grille will make the jump, but with more plastic lower body cladding. Inside, Auto Express says the CX-3 will offer buyers fold-flat rear seating for extra cargo capacity.

Mazda reveals new 'Game Changers' advertising campaign

Tue, 30 Apr 2013

Looking to highlight its unique and sporty mindset, Mazda is getting ready to launch its biggest advertising campaign since "Zoom-Zoom" became its tagline in 2000. The new campaign, entitled "Game Changers," will begin in May, and rather than focusing on its sporty past - like it did with Zoom-Zoom early on - the new ads will look at recent advancements made in building its future, including Skyactiv technologies and its new diesel race program, both of which involve its excellent new Mazda6 sedan.
As a part of the ads, Mazda will showcase game changers from the sporting world, including Dick Fosbury who changed how competitors perform the high jump and Laird Hamilton, who redefined how surfers attacked big waves. It doesn't sound like Zoom-Zoom is going away, but "Game Changers" will definitely feature heavily in the Japanese automaker's marketing moving forward. A few examples of the new ad campaign are posted in our gallery, and the press release is available below.
