Here is a rare opportunity.  Up for sale is the lowest mileage first generation Miata currently on the market.  It's a 1991 Mazda Miata with 4,353 documented original miles and has always been garage kept.  All options available for the year including the pricey hard top are here.  As expected, the car is absolutely in showroom new condition with no issues of any kind (mechanically or cosmetically.)  It still smells new inside.  The original factory bar code stickers still remain on the center console, rear package tray carpet and convertible top boot.  The factory convertible top window still has the original protective slip paper on both sides of the glass (which was removed only for pictures and is now back in place).  The factory convertible top boot is still sealed in the original bag with the factory bar code decal in place.  All factory panel VIN tags, safety/information decals/tags are in place and glossy new.  All factory books, service records, factory paperwork, original Mazda window sticker, original Mazda purchase invoice, lug lock key,  2 keys, factory plastic Mazda wallet key, original Paul Miller Mazda license plate, frame and original front license plate bracket are included.  Also, the spare tire, jack and tools have never left the trunk and are still in the factory Mazda covers (see picture).

History: The car was originally purchased from Paul Miller Mazda in Lexington KY in 1991.  The car spent the majority of its life with the original female owner in Kentucky.  The rest of the time was spent in one of Texas's largest personal car collections of 400+ cars.  The cars in this collection are serviced on a schedule by a staff of ASE certified mechanics.  (A/C blows cold)  No mechanical issues whatsoever, just a fantastic like new 4,353 mile car.  Now is your rare chance to own a documented 4,353 mile piece of Japanese sports car history which will do nothing but increase in value.  Don't let it slip away!!

Fun Miata facts:

Road and Track's pick for the best sports car of the 1990's and on Road and Track's ten best sports cars of all time list.

In 2009, English automotive critic Jeremy Clarkson (Top Gear) wrote:

The fact is that if you want a sports car, the MX-5 is perfect. Nothing on the road will give you better value. Nothing will give you so much fun. The only reason I’m giving it five stars is because I can’t give it fourteen.

The original MX-5 came with a 1.6 L (98 cu in) dual overhead cam inline four-cylinder engine, producing 86 kW (115 bhp) at 6,800 rpm, and 136 N·m (100 lbf·ft) of torque at 5,500 rpm.   50:50 front/rear weight balance results in the car having neutral handling.

Mazda heads to Daytona with fierce-looking Mazda3 TCR race car

Wed, Oct 2 2019

Hatchback lovers rejoice, Mazda has turned its stunning five-door into a race car. The Mazda3 TCR will participate in the 2020 IMSA Michelin PilotChallenge and will first debut in January 2020 during the Rolex 24 weekend in Daytona, Florida. Mazda is set to return to touring-car racing (TCR) with an adaptation of its popular compact car. The Mazda3 TCR has a lot of exterior changes that make it visually different from its road car brethren, and a whole lot more performance alterations we can’t see. A massive wing stands tall at the rear, and itÂ’s matched with a bulbous widebody kit with cooling vents behind the front and rear wheels. The new dress also has a front splitter, side skirts, and rear bumper aero. Further enhancements include a new hood, a single centered exhaust pipe, and new wheels and tires. Under the hood, the Mazda3 TCR has a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 350 horsepower. It pairs with a six-speed transmission with paddle shifters. Mazda collaborated with the same company that manufacturers the Global Mazda MX-5 Cup Car, Long Road Racing, to develop the TCR. It is homologated for global racing in 36 TCR championships, and it will make its debut at the four-hour Endurance Challenge at the Daytona Rolex 24.

Mazda recalls 2016-2018 Mazda3s for faulty windshield wipers

Thu, May 2 2019

As the waves of rain showers continue to roll across the United States, Mazda has issued a recall related to a car's most important springtime feature: windshield wipers. Due to a faulty relay, the wipers on some 2016-2018 Mazda Mazda3s might stop functioning. The recall potentially affects 187,798 cars. According to NHTSA recall No. 19V272000, some 2016-2018 Mazda3s might have a malfunctioning windshield wiper relay within the front body control module that causes the wipers to become inoperable. As a resolution, Mazda will replace the old modules with new ones that have an "improved wiper relay design." This can be done at Mazda dealerships for free. This is not the first time the 2016 Mazda3 has been in the news for a recall. Although previous faults have been on smaller scales, the model previously had issues with a fuel shutoff valve causing a fuel leak, a deformed fuel tank causing a fuel leak, an improper weld on the fuel tank recirculation pipe causing a leak, and corroded parking brake actuators. Mazda has set June 3, 2019, as the expected recall start date, and owners may call Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500 to check on the status. The Mazda recall reference number is 3219D. Mazda 767B crashes during Goodwood, suffers heavy damage [UPDATE]

Fri, Jun 26 2015

Update: Autoblog has learned that the Mazda 767B wrecked at Goodwood was being driven by Seniji Hoshino. He was not seriously harmed and was able to walk away from the crash. Hoshino's car was chassis 001 and scored a win in the GTP class of the 1989 24 Hours of Le Mans. A Mazda 767B Group C racer suffered a crash the Goodwood Festival of Speed that tore off the rear wing and did some fairly serious looking front end damage. According to Jalopnik, the racer was taking a timed run during the event's famous hillclimb when it went into the hay bales. The driver is reportedly okay, though. We've reached out to Mazda and Goodwood sources to identify the pilot in question, with no luck so far. Look for an updated post later in the day if we get any answers on that front. Images of the sad wreck seem to be populating on Twitter feeds as we write this. The racing Mazda clearly suffered a big hit today; painful to look at even after the fact. But we're not sure if the damage is beyond the abilities of skilled factory workmen to fix. Our collective fingers are crossed. Mazda has a major presence at Goodwood this year, including the event's art installation. Among all of its vehicles, there are two privately owned 767Bs. These racers have a four-rotor engine, said to be good for more than 600 horsepower in racing trim, and are predecessors to the famous 787B that scored an overall win in the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans.
