This 1990 Mazda MX5 Miata (VIN: JM1NA3518L0125757) is being
offered by the original owner. It has 65,000 miles and has always been garaged.
It is all original with no modifications. The CarFax report verifies the
mileage, lists title change in 6/4/1997 to add spouse and shows no other entries
other than emissions certifications and registration renewals. Plenty of faster
Miatas came later, but few wearing the name remain in this condition. This one
is now available in Minden, NV. Factory options include:
This car was purchased new at Martin Mazda in Woodland Hills, CA on December 18, 1989 and has always been garaged. The clear rear window is original, but should be replaced. The interior retains the factory radio and floor mats. Under the hood, only maintenance items have been changed. No hardtop is included, but a Tonneau cover is included. This car is a poor man's Porsche and a joy to drive. |

Mazda CX-5 facelift leaks online
Mon, 10 Nov 2014It's only been a couple of years since Mazda introduced its CX-5 crossover, so it's hardly in need of replacement just yet. But to keep it fresh, the Japanese automaker is apparently preparing to roll out a facelift for the compact crossover.
The facelifted model is expected to debut at the LA Auto Show later this month, but before it does, a handful of images - apparently scanned from a brochure - have leaked out online. From what we can see, it looks like the revised CX-5 features a new grille with horizontal bars, LED headlamps derived from those on the new Mazda2, new fog light surrounds, new taillight graphics and, of course, new wheels.
Unfortunately we can't see what's going on inside, but it'd be safe to bet that, along with the revised exterior detailing, Mazda's probably taken the opportunity to update the interior as well.
Junkyard Gem: 1989 Mazda MX-6 GT Turbo
Fri, Nov 18 2016The Mazda MX-6 is best-known in the United States as the sibling (or maybe first cousin) of the Ford Probe, which almost became the successor to the Fox Mustang. The MX-6 and Probe were well-engineered and very quick for the era, but never enjoyed great American-market sales success. Here's a rare first-generation MX-6 GT that I photographed last week in a Denver self-service yard. 145 turbocharged horsepower was pretty good for 1989, when a new Honda Prelude Si had 135 horses and the far more expensive BMW 325i ($24,650 for the 325i coupe versus $14,499 for the MX-6 GT Turbo) had 168. This one doesn't have the optional four-wheel steering, but it does have the three-way adjustable suspension. If you drove a turbocharged car in 1989, you needed a nine-band equalizer with analog sliders on the radio. It was the law. It's not rusty, but at 205,575 miles it's worn out. The Japanese-market version was known as the Capella C2, and it boasted some great TV commercials. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. As always, the US-market TV ads are less interesting than their Japanese counterparts. More 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary editions are heading to America
Tue, May 14 2019The 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary edition made its debut a few months back at this year's Chicago Auto Show. The special model was limited to just 3,000 units worldwide, with just 500 heading to the U.S. Miata enthusiasts were so excited by the car that the entire allotment sold out within four hours. To help satisfy demand for this limited edition model, Mazda is allocating another 143 cars for the American market, bringing the total number of cars heading to the U.S. to 643. Note, Mazda is still only building 3,000 cars total. The 30th Anniversary Miata is available as both a roadster and the retractable hardtop Miata RF. All of them will be painted Racing Orange and will be fitted with RAYS ZE40 17-inch forged alloy wheels, orange Brembo brake calipers and Recaro seats. The cars also come with a Bose audio system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The cars still retain the 2019 Miata's updated 2.0-liter inline-four making 181 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. Cars equipped with the manual transmission get a limited-slip differential, Bilstein shocks and a front shock tower brace. This special edition isn't cheap. The manual soft top starts at $35,915, and the manual RF starts at $38,515. Adding an automatic ups the price by $499 on the soft top and $400 on the RF. That's up from $27,080 for a base roadster and $32,945 for a base Miata RF.
