This is a very beautiful and very fun ONE driver 1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata Limited Edition in immaculate condition. This vehicle was purchased in 1994 from my local Mercedes Benz Dealership with 1500 miles on it. This beauty has never seen snow or even the winter roads. Everything on this car has been taken care of and there are ZERO issues. This car could not be in any better condition than it appears. Always garage kept. There are many more options included with this car along with some of the specifications listed above. Everything is original including the BBS wheels. The interior leather is in perfect condition with no rips or tears. You will not find a nicer kept all around vehicle than this one, especially with low miles. If you don't believe me, check out the pictures for yourself. This car is also part of a limited edition series. Number 0147 of 1500 produced. Paper work is included. There is also a limited edition matching key chain that is included along with a couple of books. This car is really one of a kind and is in pristine condition.

The Miata as you may have already known is a very special car, being rated consistently in the top 10 by Car Driver.  In the spring of 1993, the Mazda created a very special and unique Miata, the 93LE.  This "LE" was a limited edition production car, with only 1500 sequence numbered LEs made for sale in the United States.  Mazda took a fully loaded B package miata (power mirrors, power-assisted steering, leather-wrapped steering wheel, headrest speakers, cruise control, power windows and a power antenna) and added everything they could think of from a performance and cosmetic standpoint to create the LE. Aluminum trim and panels brought out the "retro look" that is making the trend in today's roadster market.  The LE was truly designed ahead of its time. This 1993 Mazda MX-5 LE still remains one of the rarest and best Miatas ever built!!

Mazda Hazumi Concept shows up ahead of Geneva

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

Last week, Mazda officially teased its Geneva-bound Hazumi concept, showing little more than an aggressive headlamp design. But now, thanks to the magic of the Internet, another rendering of the Hazumi has appeared on the web, and, well, it's totes adorbs.
In Mazda's original release from last week, we were told that the name "Hazumi" means "spring up" or "bound" in Japanese, and is "particularly well-suited to a small car that appears to be bursting with energy." And now that we're getting a nearly full glimpse of the thing, we absolutely have to agree. The company's Kodo design language offers aggressive style in a cute little shape, and the usual raft of concept car-spec treatments (no mirrors, huge wheels, etc.) make it look even more comical and delightful.
Indeed, the Hazumi is understood to preview the next Mazda2 subcompact, and if this concept car points the way forward for Mazda's tiniest hatch, consider us totally geeked. Mazda is also set to debut its new 1.5-liter Skyactiv-D diesel engine at the Geneva Motor Show next week, and while the company hasn't confirmed if that powerplant will make its way into the next Mazda2, it sure makes sense, at least overseas. Stay tuned.

Mazda3 diesel under consideration for US, hybrid not so much

Thu, 27 Jun 2013

It's been a long time coming, but we finally clapped our eyes on the real deal, officially official 2014 Mazda3 in hatchback form yesterday. Yet there's a lot more to learn about this next-generation version of what has always been one of our favorite compacts. We know that the US version will come with one of two Skyactiv engines, but what about alternatives? Will there be any... or will the gasoline-fed four-cylinders be powerful and frugal enough to carry the day?
According to Automotive News, the answer is a definite maybe. Mazda North America CEO Jim O'Sullivan has told the trade publication that his employer will consider adding the company's well-liked 2.2-liter Skyactiv diesel powerplant to the model down the road. However, the company first wants to see how the engine fares with American consumers in its big-brother Mazda6 sedan, a model that goes on sale later this year. As for a potential Mazdaspeed3 successor, mum is still the word.
Anything else? Uncharacteristically, Mazda will build a hybrid model of its new 3. We say "uncharacteristically," because the Japanese independent has long shied away from gas-electric powertrain tech. In fact, it's gone so far as to boldly announce its aversion to the technology, with auto show banners proclaiming "Not Electric. Not Hybrid. Not A Drag To Drive." Despite all that, this new generation of Mazda3 will in fact be the company's first full hybrid production model. According to AN, however, O'Sullivan says that the company has "no plans" to sell it in the US.

Will Mazda sell diesel hybrids in Japan in 2016?

Thu, Aug 14 2014

Could the "Zoom Zoom" automaker start making hybrids that go "glug glug glug"? Mazda, known for its fuel-efficient Skyactiv engine line, will be the first Japanese automaker to make a diesel-hybrid vehicle for Japan and Europe. According to the Yomiuri Shimbun, Mazda may start making its oil-burning hybrids as soon as 2016, and the powertrain may reach fuel efficiency levels of as much as 95 miles per gallon (one the more lenient Japanese driving cycle). That'd make such a vehicle line about 30 percent more fuel-efficient than standard diesels and about eight percent more fuel efficient that the Toyota Prius C compact hybrid (known as the Aqua in Japan). Mazda has been dismissive of hybrid and electric powertrains, instead focusing on Skyactiv technology to maximize fuel efficiency from conventional gas-powered engines. Diesel powertrains account for about half of the light-duty vehicles sold in Europe each year, while Japan's diesel sales of 76,000 vehicles last year were about three times as many as were sold there in 2012. In January, Mazda said that it would delay the introduction of its Skyactiv-D diesel engine from what was to be a spring 2014 debut. The reason was to fine-tune the engine's performance/fuel economy balance. Mazda representatives didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from AutoblogGreen about the diesel hybrids.
