Offered for auction a 1986 Mazda B2000 long bed truck. Being sold by original owner with 94,662 actual miles. This truck has been used sparingly on a farm until recently. The body is in very good condition. The only body damage was a dent on the front part of the bed right side. It was repaired but never repainted. The paint is dead on the truck and waxing will not bring it back. I've tried. All glass is in excellent condition. The interior is in good condition, needs detailing, and the bench seat on the driver's side has issues.(see Photos). The tires are Kelly P205/75R14 and have lots of tread left. There is NO POWER STEERING and it takes an effort to steer especially at slow speeds when turning. The heater, wipers, lights, and windows all work. There is NO AIR CONDITIONING. The 5-speed manual transmission works very smoothly and has no issues. The motor is cold natured in the winter and needs some warm up time before driving. The truck rides very smoothly and cruises at 70 MPH easily. The bed has a liner, and the the tail gate works well. The dark areas below the tail gate appear to be rust but isn't. It just needs cleaning from crud running from the bed after a rain. The passenger side door handle is broken but can still be opened by pulling the latch straight forward. Carpet is good but needs detailing.
Technical info from eHow: The engine is powered by an inline four-cylinder configuration. Each cylinder has two valves. Carburetion is done by a two-barrel Mikuni carb. Engine displacement is 122 ci. The cylinder head is an aluminum single overhead cam. The truck produces 86 hp at 4,800 rpm, the torque is 120 foot-pounds at 2,800 rpm. Both the bore and stroke are 3.39 inches. The drive ratio is 4.1:1. The braking system has ventilated dics brakes on the front and standard drum brakes on the rear. The suspension is composed of a torsion bar in front and a Hotchkiss leaf spring suspension in the rear. Surprise! 2017 Mazda MX-5 RFs are already being delivered
Tue, Nov 22 2016Last month, when Mazda opened up ordering for Launch Editions of the MX-5 RF, the company estimated that cars would arrive in February. Well, today Mazda announced that some changes in production scheduling meant that MX-5 RFs are ready sooner than expected. In fact, Mazda already delivered an RF to a customer. The company delivered the first MX-5 RF Launch Edition in America last week to Dave Putter. He got the keys from Masahiro Moro, president and CEO of Mazda North America Operations, at the LA auto show last week. More RFs are coming, too. Mazda says that about 500 more will arrive across the country in December. Mazda also said that availability will expand throughout the winter and spring months. So, for people who've ordered a Launch Edition, it looks like you may get an early holiday gift. And for those waiting to check out normal ones in dealers, you won't have to wait much longer. Midsize Sedan Comparison | Honda Accord vs. Toyota Camry vs. Mazda6
Tue, Jul 24 2018The rumors of the midsize sedan's death have been greatly exaggerated. The 2018 Honda Accord and 2018 Toyota Camry together moved more than 262,000 units through May of this year, which is still a ton of cars. Then again, both are down year-over-year despite being completely, and quite impressively, redesigned for 2018. So yes, the midsize sedan's grip on family transportation is weakening. Ford certainly thinks so, yet this change in consumer preferences comes at a time when the current crop of sedans is sensational. They're bigger and more powerful, yet also more efficient. Safety scores are impeccable. They even look better than ever. So before running out to score one of the bajillion little SUVs flooding the market, why not ponder this trio of midsize sedan all-stars that might actually work better? Over the course of three consecutive weeks we tested the 2018 Camry XSE V6, 2018 Accord Touring 2.0T and the perennial critical-darling 2018 Mazda6 Signature. The latter was thoroughly overhauled and, perhaps as such, bucked the segment trend by actually selling more in June this year. Each was a range-topping trim level with all the bells and whistles, plus the most powerful engine available. Really, you couldn't find cars closer in power, price and feature content. View 57 Photos Performance and fuel economy Toyota bucked the turbocharged trend by sticking with naturally aspirated engines for the 2018 Camry, and when it comes to its 3.5-liter V6, it's sure hard to argue with that decision. For starters, it produces 301 horsepower. Let that sink in for a moment. A 301-hp Toyota Camry. That crushes the others, while its 267 pound-feet of torque is only 6 less than the Accord. This is a strong, smooth engine that only gets better when you realize it matches the 26-mpg combined fuel economy of the others. Honda, meanwhile, followed the masses by switching to a turbocharged four-cylinder for the Accord's engine upgrade (and its base engine, for that matter). Though its 252 hp is considerably down on the Camry and its 271 lb-ft is only a smidgen more, the Accord's torque arrives earlier in the rev range without feeling overtly turbocharged. It also has 143 fewer pounds to contend with. When wrung out, this new 2.0-liter belts out a beautiful, typically Honda song made possible by the smart 10-speed automatic (the base 1.5-liter is paired to a CVT that results in more drone than mechanical music) that thankfully doesn't draw much attention to itself.
2020 Mazda3 gets five-star overall rating from NHTSA
Mon, Mar 2 2020Mazda is adding another figurative piece of silverware for its heralded Mazda3, this time in the form of a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The designation applies to both the hatchback and four-door sedan, and front- or all-wheel-drive versions. Mazda’s entry-level compact, which underwent a dramatic redesign for 2019, notched five-star ratings across the board: frontal crash, side crash and rollover crash tests. The Mazda3 has also been named Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, with top scores on all crash tests and ease of use of the LATCH child-seat system, but an acceptable rating for its headlights as the only slight ding. Mazda opted to make its i-Activsense safety technology system standard on the 3 for 2020. It covers NHTSAÂ’s recommendations of having forward collision warning, lane departure warning, crash imminent braking and dynamic brake support, and it adds features like blind-spot monitoring, driver attention alert, automatic on-off LED headlights and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The fourth-generation car also got a stiffer body with a 10-fold increase in high-strength steel and a revamped suspension. Mazda sold 50,741 examples of the Mazda3 last year, which made it the automakerÂ’s No. 2 nameplate, though well behind the CX-5, which moved 154,545 units. Sales in January were off 45.7% from the prior year, when the new version wasnÂ’t yet on sale, suggesting that despite its distinctive looks and accolades from the motoring press, the Mazda3 is fighting an uphill battle against crossover-dom.
