Estimated to be 1 of 400 sold in Paradise Mica Blue

Driveline:
1.8L 1zz motor – stock/original burns no oil between changes – Castrol 0W30 Euro Synthetic every 5k

30+ mpg at all times.  37mpg with AC on during a recent road trip at a consistent 70mph.

5 speed manual transmission – NOTE:  In interest of full disclosure - the 3rd gear synchronizer is a little weak, condition has been same and unchanged since approximately 60k miles. I switched to synthetic fluid and limited aggressive third gear shifts, it never fails to go into gear or pops out of gear.

Body:
Straight, tight, and solid – everything works 100% including factory CD radio and A/C
All original body panels with VIN labels, carfax shows a minor accident when new but I have never seen evidence of this on the car.

History:
121k highway miles (70-100mi/day commute and 100% Toyota reliability)
Brought up from Florida/Virginia around 2009 with 52k miles and traded into the Jeep dealership I bought it from, it was bone stock at that time.  I drove a 4x4 Dec-Feb as much as possible to avoid the salt and keep it rust free.

Additional Specs:
HARD DOG SCCA-legal rollbar with single diagonal ($$) - for looks and safety, never raced
Brand New Black Top installed this year ($$)
4 Brand New Falken ZIEX512 tires ($$)
CHE stainless header (factory manifold with intact precat included... if shopping, BEWARE of other spyders that still have the factory manifold, the precat often fails and destroys the motor in the process)

New air filter, new serpentine belt, all new DENSO O2 sensors, new battery, recent front brake pads,

New in the box rear brake pads included, extra rear Falken full tread tire included that needs a patch due to a nail.

Has the usual small, cosmetic imperfections of a 10 year old daily driver, most notably clear coat on the rear bumper cover is failing and the rims could stand to be re-powdercoated.  Please email me lumbertonob @ yah00 d0t c0m for a file with detailed pictures of all known flaws.

Car has been a DREAM to own and I’ll miss it! Would prefer to sell to a fellow enthusiast.   My wife and I love the car, but our FIRST BORN(!) is due in January and it may be time to move on to a family car.

Bid to own, not to inspect.  Again, contrary to carfax, I have the clean and clear title in hand with NO lien against it.  I will make every attempt to show this vehicle to all interested parties during the next week.  (cell phone: 609-980-1697)

A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $250 will be required via paypal within 24 hours of auction completion.  The transaction will be cash or verified bank check, in person.  Any shipping arrangements must be made by the buyer.

Gary Cooper's 1935 Duesenberg SSJ fetches record price at Pebble Beach

Mon, Aug 27 2018

The 1935 Duesenberg SSJ formerly owned by Gary Cooper sold for a jaw-dropping $22 million over the weekend at the Gooding & Co. Pebble Beach auction, setting a record for the most valuable pre-war car ever sold at auction. It also appears to have become the most expensive American collector car ever sold at auction, eclipsing the very first Shelby Cobra ever made, which sold for $13.75 million in 2016. The Duesenberg was also the lone American-made entrant in the list of top 10 sellers, which was crowded with the names Ferrari and Porsche. You have to go all the way down the list to No. 21 to find the next American car: a 1930 Packard 734 Speedster Phaeton, which sold for a mere $1.127 million. All told, Gooding & Co. said it realized more than $116.5 million in auction sales over the weekend, with a whopping 25 cars sold for north of $1 million, an 84 percent sales rate and an average transaction price of $947,174. Clearly this is how the other half 1 percent lives. Gooding & Co. said there were five world-record sales at the auction. Joining the Duesenberg were a 1955 Ferrari 500 Mondial Series II, which sold for $5.005 million; a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France Berlinetta, $6.6 million; a 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC Speciale, $3.41 million; and a one-of-two 1966 Ferrari Dino Berlinetta GT, $3.08 million. Oh, and that 1969 Ford Bronco test vehicle we told you about? The one that was rebadged by Holman & Moody as a Bronco Hunter? It sold for $121,000, which was well below the expected range of $180,000 to $220,000. Perhaps it was the presence of all those gorgeous Porsche Spyders and Ferraris that meant collectors weren't interested in boxy, utilitarian off-roaders. View 24 Photos Gooding and Co. had expected the convertible Duesenberg coupe to go for more than $10 million. It was one of only two of its kind built by Duesenberg — the other having gone to Clark Gable — with a specially shortened, 125-inch wheelbase and a supercharged straight-eight with double overhead cams, able to produce around 400 horsepower and a top speed of 140 miles per hour. It features a lightweight open-roadster bobtail body produced by LaGrande out of Connersville, Ind. The car was also owned at one point by race driver Briggs Cunningham.

Maserati adding two more high-performance Trofeo models to the lineup

Mon, Jul 27 2020

Two years ago, Maserati introduced its first high-performance Trofeo trim level to the 2019 Levante crossover. With its 590-horsepower twin-turbo V8, it became the most powerful Maserati in the lineup. It seems it will have company soon, as Maserati teased on Twitter the addition of Ghibli and Quattroporte Trofeo sedans. Besides announcing the new models, the company released a single teaser image and a reveal date. We can infer some things based on the existing Levante Trofeo, though. The Quattroporte Trofeo will undoubtedly get the same 590-horsepower V8, since it already has a low-output 523-horsepower version of the engine. The Ghibli could possibly get the V8, too, since it shares its basic underpinnings with the other two cars. Having a 590-horsepower compact sports sedan would be quite the feather in Maserati's cap, since it would outgun everything else in the segment. That being said, even lower-output versions of the V8 in the Ghibli would be exciting. These Trofeo models will also let the world know they're the fastest versions of their respective nameplates. The Levante Trofeo features the most aggressive bodywork of any Levante, and that will surely translate to the sedans. Hopefully Maserati will also see fit to provide the Trofeo sedans with upgraded suspension and brakes to handle the extra power. We should have most of the details soon. The reveal date for these high-speed Maseratis is August 10. Related Video:

Maserati releases quartet of videos featuring new Quattroporte

Tue, 06 Nov 2012

In case you missed it, Maserati has decided to introduce the world to its next Quattroporte well ahead of its official debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January. As expected, it's beautiful.
Not content to leave well enough alone, the Italian automaker has revealed a series of videos to go along with the six images and press release it had already let loose upon the globe's unsuspecting automotive press.
We're still a bit shaky on the details, but Maserati says the Quattroporte's new engine, assembled by Ferrari in Maranello, will "[establish] new benchmarks for Maserati in terms of power and acceleration." That sounds good to us, though we're not sure if that means 530 horsepower as possibly alluded to by the license plate on the press shots. We also note that the automaker says the car is designed to accept "a wide range of engine architectures," so that rumored supercharged V6 sounds likely.
