2002 Mr2 Spyder Smt Leather Upgrades No Reserve on 2040-cars

Year:2002 Mileage:53000
Location:

Advertising:

Rain Forest Green Pearl MR2 Spyder with tan leather interior. I've owned this car for almost 7 years now. I bought a new daily driver, and I have a project Spyder I'm building up, so this one has to go. Will come with stock wheels (painted black) with decent tires (the pics show winter tires on there).

This car runs and drives great, and is a ton of fun (literally - it's 2150 lbs). It's not the best 53K mile spyder out there, but it runs and drives great.

The Good:
  • 53K +/- miles (I'm driving it on and off, so actual will vary by a small amount)
  • SMT works without a hitch
  • Pre-cats have been gone since 23K miles (when I bought it). Exhaust manifold is ceramic coated, heat shields are in place.
  • Does not burn oil. Been treated to synthetic 5w-30 every 3-4K miles since I've owned it. Trans has been kept with fresh Redline MT-90.
  • NJ Inspection good through 6/2015
  • The interior leather is good, the carpet & mats are good (a little dirty, but it is winter), the dash etc is all good.
  • I just had it re-aligned in the fall, all is spot-on.
  • All stock except for:
    • 2003+ headlights, with 6000K 55W HIDs (cost over $500)
    • Che's adjustable rear suspension arms (all 3 sets) (Cost over $400)
    • Corky's Beast Plate - this really firms the chassis ($160)
    • Front lower brace (TRD-clone)
    • Koni shocks (with stock springs) (cost over $600)
    • Slightly upgraded stereo system (Scion HU with coaxials in the doors)
    • Aftermarket sway bar end links
    • Slotted/drilled rotors, newish ceramic pads F&R (less than 6K miles)
    • Rear decklid spoiler (TRD-clone)
    • 2003+ side vents
The Bad:
  • The soft top has several patches. I have a replacement soft top new-in-the-box that I am willing to sell to the winning bidder at $100 less than the best eBay price, but it's not a give-away item.
  • Previous Salvage title. I bought it in 2007 with a Texas Salvage title and brought it through NJ structural inspection. It now has a NJ title (there is no such animal as rebuilt or branded NJ title, it's just a regular old title and can be registered and insured in any state + Canada). I've been driving it for the past 7 years. Autocheck and Carfax show the same salvage incident 3 or 4 times - jolly nice of them. It was hit (1), sold to a wholesaler (2), sold to me and legally registered in NJ as salvage (3), and then titled in NJ after passing the state structural inspection (4).  Carfax also indicates I had the oil changed 2 years ago in Kentucky with different mileage on the odometer. Highly unlikely I'd do a 1000 mile round-trip for an oil change; the odometer reading is genuine on this car at +/- 53K.
  • The paint looks great in the pictures, real good from from the street, not so good close up. There are some flaws, nicks and minor dings.

Terms: Paypal deposit after the auction ends, balance due in cash or certified funds within 7 days. You are welcome to check the car out before bidding, but only bid what you expect to spend - your bid is a binding offer to buy at that price, not a starting point for negotiations. Also, don't expect to get a bank loan for a 12-yr old car; if you don't have the funds, please don't bid. This is a private sale, as-is, where-is, no warranty expressed or implied.

Shipping: I'm happy to help you ship the car at your expense. I'm not going to drive it 250 miles to meet you halfway, though.

2024 Maserati GranTurismo PrimaSerie 75th Anniversary edition revealed

Fri, Jan 27 2023

Maserati revealed the new GranTurismo’s interior earlier this week — but wait, thereÂ’s more. Just shown is a special launch edition of the GranTurismo that goes by PrimaSerie. If you recall the MC20 CieloÂ’s reveal, that model was also launched with a PrimaSerie special edition model. This GranTurismo follows the trend, but in a slightly different package. To celebrate 75 years of Maserati, this modelÂ’s full, official name is the PrimaSerie 75th Anniversary. In keeping with the “75” theme, Maserati plans on building four sets of 75 matching cars — each of the four sets has its own, unique appearance. That means there will be a total of 300 GranTurismo PrimaSerie models. Pictured here are the two Trofeo models — powered by MaseratiÂ’s Nettuno V6 engine — that will be available. The gray car is technically Grigio Lamiera Matte, and the black car is finished in a paint Maserati calls Nero Scarabeo Matte. If you opt for the Grigio Lamiera PrimaSerie, itÂ’s paired with Corse Red accents on the logos, scripts, air vents, wheels and interior stitching. The 75th anniversary logo can be seen on the wheels, and if you look inside, itÂ’ll be on the headrests, too. Go for the matte black option, and this one is paired with Mint Green accents all over the exterior and interior. Despite the paint color of the cars being rather subtle shades, all the colorful accents on these special editions make them not-so-subtle. Not pictured yet are the Folgore PrimaSerie options. Maserati says the two special editions for the electric GranTurismo will be painted in either Rame (a copper-like color) or Blu Inchiostro (blue). Pricing isnÂ’t out for these PrimaSerie models, but Maserati allows you to express interest for the Trofeo models on its website. Opting for one of the launch editions would make you one of the first owners of the redesigned GranTurismo when it comes out. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. Alfa Romeo Giulia to get Ferrari-related engine

Fri, Jun 19 2015

Alfa Romeo has a long, proud history of using V6 engines in its coupes, sedans, and sports cars over the years, but as the new Giulia sedan approaches, the Italian marque is allegedly turning to Ferrari for its next six-cylinder. This is obviously not the first time a Ferrari-sourced or derived engine has been found under an Alfa's long hood. While 8C Competizione famously used a version of Ferrari's F136 V8 during its short run, the Giulia's new V6 will be offered on a much larger scale, slotting in above an entry level, four-cylinder turbo (likely the next-gen version of the 4C sports car's 1.75-liter engine). According to Autocar, the new V6 will be "specially developed for Alfa Romeo," and will be built at the Termoli engine factory alongside the new turbo four-cylinder. As for the rest of the Giulia, Autocar has been able to shine a light on a number of other details about the new midsizer. It will, thankfully, be rear-wheel drive, and designed to counter the "mostly cold and clinical" and soulless cars of the German competition, Maserati chief Harald Wester told AC. Some of the new sedan's structural elements will even be shared with Maserati's entry level model, the Ghibli. Most notable of all, though, is what the Giulia means for American consumers. After the limited-run 8C and the niche 4C, the new sedan will lead Alfa Romeo's long-awaited, large-scale return, where it will combat the popular BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4, not to mention rivals like the Cadillac ATS and Lexus IS. Look for more on the Giulia next week when it's officially revealed in Milan.
