Must sell to pay IRS this rear. Would not sell if didn't have to raise the tax money.
This Spyder is in remarkable condition. There are only a few minor rock bites, one on the nose and two by the rear wheel well. Pictures are attached. The only item not working on the car is the power antenna. The motor runs but, I believe the antenna was broken off prior to my purchase. Radio works just fine without it. I have owned two of these vehicles and this is the best one yet. There is very, very little wear on the driver's seat exterior bolster. Also, both defrost vents are cracked from the sun. ALL of my 3000 GT's and Stealths had this issue. There are no known mechanical problems of any type at this time. I have religiously changed the oil and fluids for the past two years of ownership. I use Pennzoil Synthetic oil. The brakes are sound, both disk and emergency. All options work except power antenna. Top retracts and restores flawlessly with all glass moving as it should. I have also replace the hydraulic fluid in the reservoirs due to age and trash in the tanks. Additional fluid will be provided with the car. I also will include the top diagnostic cable for the car that troubleshoots problems. This came from one of the members on the Yahoo site. There are no interior leaks around the top or windows. I purchased the car two years ago for $15,500.00 from a person in Las Vegas. I drove it home to Kentucky without any trouble. I have had no trouble to date except changing the battery and replacing the header mounted limit switches for the convertible top. I have also replaced the nose and tail "Mitsubishi" decals as the originals were very faded. All parts were purchased from 3S Warehouse in Pennsylvania. A great resource for 3000 GT items. Also, I replaced both interior door panels as the areas around the arm rest had billowed due to heat exposure. While doing that, I replaced the front door speakers with Fosgate speakers as they were slightly torn from age. I do not have the original wheels but I did keep some of the parts from the door panel replacement. These are included with the vehicle for no extra charge. I also have a remote for the car but, I needs to be programmed to this vehicle. It will also go with the car. This car has every feature available on SL model. While it is not a VR4, it has significant power and almost all of the same options except all wheel drive. I have had a Stealth Twin Turbo and it about took my head off when I floored it. I am now too old to do that kind of thing so this cars performance suits me just fine. Read the reviews and visit the forums on the 3000 GT on Yahoo. They are very helpful and great sources of encouragement when you feel overwhelmed by the sophistication of the vehicle. Payment should be cash and cash only. I may help with the delivery of the vehicle if it is sold to the east side of the Mississippi River. Please feel free to have the car inspected by a third party. Only ASE mechanics have touch it since I owned it but, I am not a mechanic and cannot vouch for any performance or operational issues other than those mentioned above. I will cooperate fully on any inspection. The new owner will be responsible for all costs of licenses, fees, taxes, shipping and any other costs above the sales price. I reserve the right to sell the car locally and withdraw it from E-Bay upon sale. I am available to answer any questions and wish to sell this car PRIOR to April 15, 2014. However, I will be flexible if necessary. I have purchased many cars over E-Bay and understand about paying so much for a vehicle, sight unseen. That is why I encourage an inspection. It is cheap insurance for peace of mind. Thanks for looking! Bid high and bid often so that both of us can meet our needs and the new owner of the Spyder will have a dynamite car to cat around in this summer. |

2024 Maserati GranTurismo revealed, twin-turbo V6 or 750-hp EV: 'We're going to let buyers decide'
Mon, Oct 3 2022Maserati is in the midst of a renaissance; it's branching out into new segments with cars like the MC20 and the Grecale. While it's counting on these models to widen its target audience, it's not forgetting about its existing customers and the cars that brought them to the brand. The new, second-generation GranTurismo is a blank-sheet redesign that's evolutionary where it counts and revolutionary where it needs to be. First, the elephant in the room: this is a big, luxurious coupe launched in an era when big, luxurious coupes are disappearing at an alarming rate. What's the point? Min Byung Yoon, Maserati's lead exterior designer, explained the grand tourer (a fast, upscale car designed to quickly and effortlessly drive across a country) is one of the pillars that the company's image is built on, and keeping this tradition alive is important. Customers care more about image and usability than tradition, however, so the new GranTurismo receives several important updates. Maserati will offer the GranTurismo in three different flavors: Modena, Trofeo and Folgore. The first two use a version of the excellent 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 inaugurated by the MC20 and also found in the Grecale. Known as the Nettuno engine internally, it develops 490 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque in the Modena, figures that increase to 550 and 479, respectively, in the Trofeo. It's bolted to an eight-speed automatic transmission in both applications, and it spins the four wheels — the original GranTurismo was rear-wheel-drive. This content is hosted by a third party. Andrea Baccino, the chief engineer for the Italian firm's electric powertrains, told me that making all-wheel drive standard across the range is a way to expand the GranTurismo's usability. It's now a viable year-round driver, even if you live somewhere in rural Vermont. The system is rear-biased but variable: it can send up to 100% of the engine's torque to the rear wheels or split it 50/50 between the front and rear axles. The V6 is front-mid-mounted to achieve a 52/48 front-rear weight distribution, and the GranTurismo weighs around 3,957 pounds, which is surprisingly low considering it's not exactly nimble: it measures about 195 inches long, 77 inches wide and 53 inches tall. Hitting 62 mph from a stop takes 3.9 seconds in the Modena and 3.5 seconds in the Trofeo, and top speed checks in at 187 mph and 198 mph, respectively.
Maserati Ghibli revealed ahead of Shanghai debut
Tue, 09 Apr 2013We knew it was coming, and here it is: the 2014 Maserati Ghibli. Maserati's plan of selling 50,000 cars per year by 2015 starts with the Ghibli, which will be positioned in a more volume-friendly market against the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series. The Ghibli will make its official debut later this month at the Shanghai Motor Show.
Although our first look at Maseati's newest sedan is limited to just three images, we can see that the car will have a sportier exterior design than its bigger brother, the Quattroporte, to go with an equally luxurious interior. Under its long, sleek hood, Maserati has confirmed that the Ghibli will utilize a pair of 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engines - one gas and one diesel - both mated to eight-speed automatic transmissions. A rear-wheel-drive configuration will be standard, and the Italian automaker's new Q4 all-wheel-drive system will be available.

2019 Maserati Levante GTS First (Wet) Drive Review | A brief taste of a Ferrari-flavored SUV
Thu, Jul 26 2018If it rained any harder, someone would've had to scrounge up an extremely old man to build a giant ship and start herding animals. Lake Huron is dryer. My shoes were still unwearably soggy the next day. So, not exactly the best environment to sample the 550-horsepower, V8-powered leviathan of a performance SUV known as the 2019 Maserati Levante GTS. Sure, it has all-wheel drive and a limited-slip rear differential, but those are traction aids, not magic. In any event, our time with the "lesser" of two V8-powered Levantes would be limited, compromised and extremely damp, but several laps around the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Mich., nevertheless provided a taste of what one might expect under better conditions. Chiefly, you can expect noise. Beautiful, beautiful noise. Even with our heads and ears encased in helmets, the V8 sang a nasty warbling wail. Though built by Ferrari in Maranello, the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 doesn't build to the expected screaming Italian crescendo – it's deeper, more muscular and still deeply invigorating. You'd undoubtedly drive like a buffoon just to hear the thing. Second gear may be popular. Maserati Levante GTS View 8 Photos Stuffing a V8 into the Levante was never originally intended. It was only supposed to have a V6. Nevertheless, a group of engineers secretly took it upon themselves to see if they could fit the Quattroporte GTS' V8 into the Levante, because why not? Turns out they could and in the process, even beef up the engine. Rather than being lambasted by their bosses for going rogue on their little skunkworks project, Maserati instead green-lit not one but two V8-powered Levantes: the 550-hp GTS and 590-hp Trofeo. See, screwing around at work does have its benefits. The differences between GTS and Trofeo are largely horsepower, some minor cosmetic differences, and the Trofeo's extra standard equipment and heftier price tag. Respectively, that would be $121,475 and $171,475. The priciest V6-powered Levante S GranSport goes for $93,475. Maserati Levante Trofeo View 13 Photos Maserati didn't stop with the engine, however. The chassis was tuned to handle all those extra prancing horses, and while suspension componentry is shared with the rest of the line, tuning is specific for the V8's. The Sport Skyhook adaptive damping system was also retuned, while the air springs feature six different height levels spanning a total of 3 inches from its lowest to highest position.
