No reserve.
I just bought a project that I had to have and something has to go. So along with a Mexican Bug, a serious premo 914 Porsche, a rare Veep, all in separate auctions. I am listing my 1955 Thunder Ranch / Beck 550a  Porsche Spyder kit. This is a very nice hand laid straight body that will be easy to finish. The kit includes body, doors, hood clamshell all fitted with latches. Speedster windshield, shifter, exhaust system, proper vintage gauges and steering wheel, steering column, fuel tank, wire harness, seats, lights, new  re manufactured probuilt transaxle set up for mid engine, New 15x6 powder coated wheels with the proper offset, New Goodyear performance tires, new 5 wide front disc brake set up, NOS vintage Titlon peddles and hydraulic cylinders, Spyder Emblems.  Rolls and steers.

Parts needed to finish.
Engine complete, clutch, rear brakes, brake and fuel lines, paint and interior trim gas and oil.

My intentions were to finish it this winter but the other project popped up that I just had to have and I need to make room. If this sells I will have a newly serviced 2000 Subaru 2.5 liter with the subaru title that will be for sale that I intended to put in the Spyder for an extra 1500.00.

As far as shipping goes I will pack up all the parts and secure them inside the car for easy transport. Also I can help your shipper with loading.

Anyways take a look at the pics. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call or email. Tim 816-seven six nine- sixteen 69

Little Red Racing Car Kickstarter project a father/son affair [w/video]

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

Tales of fathers and sons, whether told for adults or for children, never go out of style. It's appropriate then that The Little Red Racing Car, a story about a father and son finding and restoring a 1955 Maserati 300S, is such a stylish piece of work.
Author Dwight Knowlton first started working on The Little Red Racing Car when, after his son was born, he "went looking for the perfect Father/Son/Car book" and couldn't find one. Knowlton's artwork in has been influenced heavily by vintage automotive advertising and Grand Prix posters, and has a very clean, art deco vibe as a result.
Of course, TLRRC is still just a work in progress. Knowlton is hoping the Kickstarter community will help to get the ball rolling, and raise $25,000 to the book printed and distributed. The author even has a stretch goal to have the whole shebang made into and animated film - we love big dreams. Follow on below to hear Knowlton's pitch in his own words, or jump over to his Kickstarter page to look further or buy-in.

Maserati releases quartet of videos featuring new Quattroporte

Tue, 06 Nov 2012

In case you missed it, Maserati has decided to introduce the world to its next Quattroporte well ahead of its official debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January. As expected, it's beautiful.
Not content to leave well enough alone, the Italian automaker has revealed a series of videos to go along with the six images and press release it had already let loose upon the globe's unsuspecting automotive press.
We're still a bit shaky on the details, but Maserati says the Quattroporte's new engine, assembled by Ferrari in Maranello, will "[establish] new benchmarks for Maserati in terms of power and acceleration." That sounds good to us, though we're not sure if that means 530 horsepower as possibly alluded to by the license plate on the press shots. We also note that the automaker says the car is designed to accept "a wide range of engine architectures," so that rumored supercharged V6 sounds likely.

2014 Maserati Ghibli S Q4 [w/video]

Wed, 12 Mar 2014

For one reason or another, this is a car people stare at. They might be drawn to its curvaceous shape riding on immense wheels. They could be intrigued by its gaping, blacked-out grille which houses an equally outsized trident logo, or doing quick calculations about the last time they saw a car wearing the name Maserati. It may be its sports-car-like proportions mixed with achingly long, four-door bodywork that draws their eye.
Or, and I urge you to consider this theory carefully, the people taking notice of this Maserati Ghibli S Q4 might simply be newly alert after hearing the sound of its exhaust ricocheting off any solid thing nearby as I drive past grinning like a certified asshat. Did you hear an Italianate engine song careening through your Ann Arbor, MI neighborhood, in the black of the early morning, just a few weeks previous? Sorry, guy, that was probably me.
I spent a week hammering this all-wheel-drive Ghibli as hard as I dared in the last truly miserable stretch of the God Awful Winter of 2014. I can honestly say that I enjoyed myself, shocked at both the frank way this new challenger luxury car went down the road as well as the attention it garnered in the process.
