This Maserati Gransport has a 400 horsepower Ferrari-based 4.2 liter V8 engine that looks, sounds, and feels amazing. The engine revs so quick, it just begs you to merge onto the highway open it up! The transmission in this car is equally impressive with technology that is very similar to Formula-1 race cars. It has steering wheel mounted paddle shifters that can make gear changes in a fraction of a second or you can put it in full automatic mode and just enjoy the drive at a leisurely pace. This Maserati is in phenomenal shape inside and out. The paint and body are nearly flawless and the interior is exceptionally clean. The seats are very comfortable GranSport bucket seats that have nice side bolsters and they are power adjustable in every way.  Everything works flawlessly.  I keep this in my private jet hanger in Scottsdale, Arizona when it is not driven, and it is available to see at almost any time.

The engine, which is related to the 4.3-liter V-8 in the upcoming Ferrari F430, is "blueprinted"-built with selected components to finer tolerances than the standard Maserati-and has a different exhaust system and inlet manifolds. And taking a cue from Ferrari, the exhaust system has a pneumatic valve to reduce back pressure and make a gloriously rich sound when the "sport" button is pressed.

  • Carbon fiber interior trim
  • Six-speed sequential manual.
  • 4,244 cc 4.2 liters V 8 front engine with 92 mm bore, 79.8 mm stroke, 11.1 compression ratio, double overhead cam, variable valve timing/camshaft and four valves per cylinder
  • It has SkyHook active dampening suspension which can instantly adjust the firmness of its shocks in a corner to prevent body roll and gives incredible handling without affecting overall ride quality.  The GranSport also has a slightly more tuned exhaust system with by-pass valves for additional horsepower and a slightly more aggressive tone in the upper RPM range.
  • Front Trofeo Grigio Mercury lightweight allow wheels with 19 inch rim diam and 8 inch rim width , rear with 19 inch rim diam and 9.5 inch rim width – Gunmetal Grey
  • Red (Rosso)brake calipers

My Maserati was a theft recovery from the insurance company.  Many states unfortunately require that the title is changed to a salvage title after a theft recovery.

Maserati was a theft recovery.  Many states unfortunately require that the title is changed to a salvage title after a theft recovery.  I have a Maserati dealer pre-purchase vehicle inspection report showing every quality aspect of the car, the maintenance and the absolute clarity that this car was never wrecked. Zero frame damage, no body panels were replaced.  This has now been issued a reconstructed title in Arizona. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles performed a complete inspection in compliance with the Arizona Department of Transportation to prove that this vehicle is roadworthy in the same manner as it was originally built at the factory.

KBB value of this vehicle is $46,383.  NADA is $52,200.  This is priced to sell.

Robb Report reviewed the GranSport in February 2006 in their Car of the Year competition:

A fierce but distinguished daily driver The GranSport is a refinement of Maserati’s Coupe Cambiocorsa, with extra power, tighter suspension, aggressive but tasteful bodywork, and interior options that set this sports GT apart from every other car in its class.  The update of Italdesign-Giugiaros original form appears handsome and purposeful The GranSports considerable power derives from a delicious, high-revving V-8 The sound throughout the rev range is worth the price of admission especially when the car is in Sport mode, when freer-flowing exhaust and quicker shift mapping add layers to the motors music. One would not be insane to buy this vehicle for the exhaust note alone The best electronic gearbox on the market apart from the Ferrari 612, this may be the only GT in which four adults can travel in comfort, which places it high on the daily-driver list.  The Maserati also will appeal more to the performance-oriented driver who wants a less flashy exterior, a superior fit and finish, and a race-derived drivetrain.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class leads this month's list of discounts

Mon, Jul 19 2021

Like last month, the biggest discounts car buyers will find on new vehicles are all applied to expensive luxury sedans. Unlike last month when there were two, there isn't a single Rolls-Royce to be found anywhere in the top five. Sorry, one-percenters. But just because the pinnacle of European luxury isn't represented doesn't mean there aren't big discounts to be found on lovely luxury sedans. In fact, this month's list is led by the 2020 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, a technological wonder that coddles its driver and passengers with all the bells and whistles the German brand has to offer. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is offered in many shapes and sizes with several powertrain options. That means there will be a huge variance in prices across the model range, but on average, 2020 S-Class buyers are seeing $11,803 lopped off the car's $109,447 sticker price, leaving an average transaction price of $97,644. That's a savings of nearly 11%. It's worth noting that there's a new S-Class for 2021, but the 2020 edition is still a lovely machine. Up next is the Porsche Taycan, sitting in second place just like it did last month. Buyers are seeing average sticker prices of $125,736 but are paying $113,938. That's a savings of $11,798 — or about 9.4% — off the price on the window sticker. As was the case last month, we're not sure how many of the Taycan's buyers will be able to claim tax rebates due to the Taycan's status as an electric vehicle, but that could potentially represent a further cut off the car's sticker. Rounding out the top three for the month of July is the Maserati Ghibli. With an average discount of $10,161 that represents a whopping 14.3% of the car's sticker price, this Italian luxury sedan actually leads the list of vehicle discounts when ranked by percentage. And if you're a Maserati fan but the Ghibli isn't your cup of espresso, the Levante crossover and larger Quattroporte sedan are also seeing very large discounts. 2023 Maserati MC20 Road Test: Distinctly Maserati, and better for it

Mon, Oct 30 2023

It’s not the quickest to 60 or the flashiest of the bunch, but the Maserati MC20 is a brilliant mid-engine supercar. It also seemingly appeared overnight. One day, Maserati was making subpar luxury sedans, and the next itÂ’s producing a carbon-tubbed supercar with a bespoke engine and looks thatÂ’ll have you going, what the hell is that? But in a good way. Seriously, if an award existed for “most improved” in the automotive industry, Maserati deserves to take home the prize this year. From the MC20 to the hot-selling Grecale, this isnÂ’t the Maserati weÂ’ve known and chided for the better part of this century. ItÂ’s all the more impressive that Maserati is finally catching its stride at the same time Ferrari engines are falling away from its lineup, particularly because the presence of those Maranello-designed engines was the biggest draw to driving home a car with the trident in its grille. Forget about Ferrari, though, because the Maserati MC20 is a great supercar because itÂ’s a Maserati. Let your butt fall into the reasonably-bolstered (but not too crazy) all-Alcantara seat, swivel your legs in over top of the exposed carbon sill, and breathe a deep breath of relaxation. Sure, it takes a tiny bit of contorting to get in, but the cabin is downright plush for being an honest-to-goodness supercar. Give the butterfly door a firm yank downward into place, but make sure to admire the perforated and patterned Alcantara as you do, because itÂ’s just one of many hints at the MC20Â’s quiet luxury. ItÂ’s refreshing to take in the interiorÂ’s surroundings, because while storage may be at a premium, most of the controls and trimmings are easily describable as normal or even ergonomic. The steering wheel buttons look lifted straight off an Alfa and are instantly natural to operate. Your phone will find a perfect resting place in the very secure and well-integrated wireless phone charger in the carÂ’s central tunnel. The wheel-mounted drive mode selector is a chip off AlfaÂ’s “DNA” mode selector, but itÂ’s in the perfect spot to effortlessly change the carÂ’s character in an instant. Even the armrests on both the center console and doors are well-judged to keep you relaxed and well-supported no matter how long the drive. Add to all this the Uconnect 5 infotainment system that is dirt-easy to operate, including with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and youÂ’re left with a supercar that doesnÂ’t make being in it or driving it a chore.

Singapore car salesman jailed for gambling away $280k Maserati deposit

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

Kenny Rogers' country classic The Gambler is right about two things: you gotta know when to hold'em and know when to fold'em. A former Maserati salesman in Singapore is learning that lesson about when to step away from the table, after being sentenced to 33 months in prison for allegedly gambling away a customer's deposit of 350,000 Singapore dollars ($280,800).
According to Asia One, Allan Tan Buan Yuen was selling a Maserati in 2011. He told the customer that the car would take six months to arrive and cost 650,000 Singapore dollars ($522,000). While that may sound high, cars in the Asian country are notoriously expensive.
Yuen asked for a deposit of 150,000 Singapore dollars ($120,400), but instead of handing the money to the dealer, he placed the funds in his own account. Apparently, the customer didn't notice, and over the next few months Yuen received an additional 200,000 Singapore dollars ($160,400) towards the car from him. Clearly, this ruse couldn't last forever, though. When the buyer eventually inquired about his Maserati months later, Yuen admitted that he had already gambled away the entire fortune.
