1977 MGB CONVERTIBLE
We're proud to offer this outstanding MGB in a no reserve auction environment! This MGB looks as good in person as it does in the photos. Take a walk around and you will be hard pressed to find fault. While there are a few minor imperfections, you really have to hunt for them. The painted finish is a quality repaint in it's original color. The wire wheels are in good shape. I believe the shade of grey that was used is just a shade or two darker than what was original.
All the brightwork, including side mouldings, door handles, trunk hardware and luggage rack appear to be in excellent shape. Inside, the condition of the interior is impressive as well. While the photos seem to show a black interior color, the seats are a deep midnight blue. They are free of any rips or tears. The rest of the interior is up to snuff as well. There are no dash cracks, and the door panels appear as new. The black carpeting is free from any stains and shows little wear. The only negatives regarding the interior are as follows; the center armrest is hinged to reveal a shallow storage space. The armrest cover merely sits over the storage space, having come loose from the hinge normally holding it in place. Also noticeable in the photos, there is no radio present.
Starting the motor on this MG is a breeze. Pulling the choke all the way out, depressing the gas pedal all the way to the floor, this car almost always starts on the first attempt. The Monza exhaust gives this car a very nice nice throaty sound. Having owned a few British cars, I would have expected to see some evidence on the pavement of some sort of oil drip, but did not see any. Isn't it the law that British cars must leak some? Under the bonnet is an unmolested proper engine bay. Everything here appears very original, albeit with many new hoses, clamps and some wiring.
This truly is a nice car to drive. It feels tight and solid at most any speed. It just feels right and you'll know when you take it for even a short drive. The tires are a matched set with better than 90% tread life remaining. The brakes feel more than adequate in stopping this car safely. If you like this car only half as much as I do, you'll be pretty excited!
