It is with much sadness that I have decided to put my 2006 Exige up for sale.

Since getting the car I have made a number of changes and improvements to ensure reliability and performance:

The details:

2006 Solar Yellow Lotus Exige with Vision Function 2 SC and Charlie-X tune. The install was done at Vision Function approximately 8,000 miles ago. Don't have a dyno plot but having ridden in an S260, this car would trounce it. It is neck snapping fast.

Sports pack and Touring pack. Dual oil coolers (one replaced during oil line recall) ,Traction Control, Track pack shocks.

Current mileage is 18,445 miles.

Body work is in excellent condition with no damage or paintwork anywhere on the car. The front splitter has no curb damage.

Tires (AO48's) are less than 3,000 miles old and have a ton of tread left.

Clear and free Indiana title, clean car fax.

Less than 400 miles ago I had the oil line recall done, a brand new Pro-rad triple pass radiator fitted, coolant flush and replacement and followed it up with a full alignment. All work was completed by TJ at Gator Motorsports in Indy. These guys are the best at what they do. ($1600).

All fluids and filters were changed less than 200 miles ago- Mobil 1 engine Oil, Motul Brake Fluid, Redline MT-90 Transmission oil.

To capture the oil blowby I fitted Radium dual catch cans ($420). These have less than 100 miles on them.

To make the car breath right and sound right I stripped away the back end and fitted a BWR Quarter stick exhaust with heat wrap and fitted a Difflow Railer Jnr diffuser. The car sounds like it moves now. If you have never heard a QS exhaust on full throttle, it is awesome. ($1300). Fitted less than 200 miles ago so parts are brand new.

I wanted repeated start ability and I don't track (save that for my Triumph 675) I fitted an Optima Red battery.

Hids are fitted as well as all supplemental lighting being LED. I disabled the DRL as they are just annoying.

The head unit is a JVC Nav/Hdd/CD unit. Easily connects to your phone through Bluetooth for music streaming or hands free talking on the phone.

Center console with boost and oil temp gauages. Calipers freshly painted matt black with yellow raised lotus lettering.

Lotus sells loads more cars, earns way more money

Fri, Aug 11 2017

Sports-car company Lotus has reason to be excited. It released some facts on its sales and financial performance for the 2016 and 2017 fiscal year, and it has seen some impressive improvements. According to the company, it sold nearly 60 percent more cars in mainland Europe compared with the 2015/2016 fiscal year, and it sold six times as many cars in the U.S. compared with that year. This helped it go from a loss of GBP16.3 million for the previous year in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) to a GBP2 million profit EBITDA. The fact that those numbers are given before all those extra expenses is noteworthy, though, as it means the company isn't truly profitable yet, despite major gains. The company did report numbers that only excluded tax, and those show the company still lost money. But the good news is that it lost much, much less money than the year before. Before taxes for the 2015/2016 fiscal year, the company lost GBP41.2 million, and this year, it only lost GBP11.2 million. The company expects it will be profitable before tax in the coming year. So Lotus isn't perfectly healthy yet, but this, combined with Geely's recent acquisition, shows it's well on its way to becoming fit as a fiddle. We like the cars Lotus makes, so we hope that things keep getting better, and that we'll maybe get more Lotus models in the future, beyond just the Evora road car and 3-Eleven track car. The black and gold Lotus Evora Sport 410 GP Edition is heading to America

Thu, Apr 6 2017

Few race teams have such deeply iconic liveries as Team Lotus. From the Gold Leaf cars from the late 1960s to the bright yellow Camel cars that lasted until the early 1990s, arguably none is more iconic than the John Player Special cars that brought world championships to Emerson Fittipaldi and Mario Andretti. Now that same sleek black and gold paint scheme can be had on the new Lotus Evora Sport 410 GP Edition. Even better, it's heading to America. While the GP Edition isn't anything more than a special paint scheme, what a wonderful design it is. The livery is based on the John Player Special Team Lotus cars that competed in Formula One between 1972 and 1986. The black paint is accented with gold stripes along the hood, fenders, doors, and rocker panel. Gold Evora Sport 410 logos adorn the rear while a "Word Champions" emblem flanks the engine cover. The Evora Sport 410 is the lighter, faster version of the thoroughly reworked Evora 400 that we drove last year. Lotus says it's the fastest road car the automaker has ever built. It hits 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds and tops out at 190 mph. They US version has been specially curated by Lotus engineers in order to be both light and meet federal crash test standards. Unfortunately, Lotus is only building 150 total each year for worldwide markets. Related Video:

Volkswagen looking to acquire Proton, Lotus?

Thu, 26 Jul 2012

Let's say you're an automaker bent on world domination looking to grow your sales. That's going to have you looking at Asian markets, because that's where some of the biggest growth has been, and that's exactly what Volkswagen is doing as it considers making another run at Malaysia's Proton.
Reuters reports that Volkswagen is interested in at least a partial stake, if not a controlling interest in Lotus-parent Proton as a way to continue a production presence in the region without having to build its own factory.
Volkswagen already builds the Passat in a DRB-HICOM facility in Pekan, Malaysia, and plans are in place to build the Jetta and Polo there, as well. With both southeast Asia and its relationship with Proton figuring so importantly in Volkswagen's plans for expansion, buying into Proton can help ensure stability. Volkswagen is being tight-lipped about the whole idea, but CEO Martin Winterkorn did recently say, "it's our clear goal to continue the successful (expansion) course of past years with great dynamics and stability," which sounds an awful lot like deals are on the table to smooth the path to further growth.
