The car has the updated 2002 Limited final edition rear conversion with HRE custom wheels (12K extra spent) and the large AP RACING brakes. The car is very clean and rare. The car is #6 of 20 USA esprit V8 cars built in yellow and #6 of 24 in yellow world wide for 2001. The car is #31 off the assembly line out of 95 world wide produced cars. The engine type "D" means its carries the 918 3.5 V8 engine, it was built in HETHEL UK. The engine number is #LL918-0011-30792 (serial # 30792) Engine build date is October 2000. Gear BOX number 1175. I will include all of the documentation of the car including receipts and owners manuals, service books and Factory window paper with the required build sheets in the sale. This car started in serial # 0163 and ended in 0318, This car is built accordingly. This car came off the assembly line DECEMBER 7 2000 and was delivered and sold new at the DIMMITT Lotus in CLEAR WATER Florida USA dealer. I am sad to see the car go and I want to see it go to the right home. The car has all new parts (mentioned above) and has been completely serviced. The car is CLEAN inside and out and is in great condition. The wheels are HRE they cost over 11K to make, The engine and transmission need nothing as of now and have been regularly maintained. Kimi Raikkonen moving to Ferrari?
Wed, 14 Aug 2013Kimi Raikkonen, easily one of our favorite current drivers in Formula 1, may be making a move from Lotus to Ferrari, according to a Finnish tabloid called Ilta-Sanomat. Raikkonen, who won the driver's championship in 2007 with the Italian brand, is in high demand and is also rumored to have options on the table from Red Bull and his current team.
Of course, a move by Kimi to Ferrari means at least one of the Maranello-based outfit would need to find another ride. Driving ace Fernando Alonso has publicly voiced his displeasure with the Ferrari chassis, and rumors have the Spaniard considering a move to Red Bull to replace Mark Webber. Buckle up, folks, this Silly Season is shaping up to be bumpy...
Lotus said to be planning new sedan, crossover [w/poll]

After former CEO Dany Bahar revealed his plans to build six new models, its parent company was sold, Bahar was sacked, his plans were canceled and a new CEO was hired in the form of former Peugeot chief Jean-Marc Gales. The industry has been waiting ever since to find out what Gales would do with the storied marque, and now we seem to have some indication.
Reports coming in from Malaysia indicate that Jean-Marc presented to the board of parent company Proton a plan for Lotus to build a new sedan and crossover. Though details are scarce, and may seem downright blasphemous for an automaker that built is reputation on lightweight sports cars, it would not be the first time that the House that Colin Built has toyed with either idea.
The company presented the APX crossover concept at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, and the Eterne sedan concept as part of Bahar's far-reaching plans at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The new plans may use these concepts as starting points or could go another direction entirely.
Lotus F1 apologizes for tweeting support for LGBT Olympians
Mon, 10 Feb 2014The Lotus Formula One Team is apologizing after its official Twitter account posted this image of two men kissing in connection to the opening of the Winter Olympics on Friday, February 7. It claims that the original tweet was "unauthorized."
The tweet, which Lotus deleted later that day, can be viewed to the right and was promptly replaced an apology that said, "We would like to sincerely apologise for an unauthorized message posted on our Twitter account today & will ensure this cannot happen again." Responses to the kerfuffle on its Twitter page have mostly focused on confusion as to what the original tweet was and why it was removed.
While the Sochi Olympics have been controversial among LBGT groups because of Russia's laws banning so-called "gay propaganda," the country has a growing importance in F1. In fact, the first Russian Grand Prix is scheduled to run later this season on a circuit around the Sochi Olympic Park. Genii Capital, the team's owner, has business interests in Russia, and according to the BBC, the Lotus F1 team is working on a deal to with Russian mobile phone company Yotaphone to sell it 10 percent of the team.
