For sale: 1986 Lotus Esprit Turbo HCI. 38,619 Original Miles. This is a very presentable and great example of an S3 Esprit. It is ready for a new owner and will be greatly enjoyed by whoever gets to own this rare vehicle. Not many of these Esprit's were built, in 1986 only about 200 Esprit Turbo cars were built in the world. This is a very sought after exotic car and is becoming very hard to come by. If your looking for the exotic feel in a not so crazy price range this may be the car for you. In the past few years the market has went up incredibly on this body style Esprit. The Esprit I'm selling is in good condition for its age and its 90% original state. This Esprit is also a real HCI model car. 

History on this Esprit: We are the second owners of the car. The car was purchased and owned in the Miami area of Florida by the First owner. We purchased the car from Auto Europe in 1995 which is a pretty well known Lotus and Morgan dealer in the state of Michigan. The car had around 30,000 miles when we first got the car. It was driven rarely only on nice days up until the early 2000's when the car ended up being parked after finding out it needed a fuel pump. This Esprit sat in our heated garage for about 9-10 years unfixed. We moved recently and brought the car with us. The car belonged to my father I just recently got around to putting a pump in the car within the year, and had the car completely looked over top to bottom and serviced back at Auto Europe. Car is now running better than ever. We still have no time to really enjoy the car so that's why it is being put up on the market. The car was always kept indoors, climate controlled garages. Never seen snow or salt. So here is your chance to get your hands on a very rare and desirable Lotus Esprit. 

Exterior: The body of this Esprit is in nice shape. Original black paint on the body. Has some clear peel on the head light buckets, mirror tops, and tops of the fenders that is barely noticeable unless looking close. Has some checks in the paint on the roof. Minor scratches and chips. I would like to be honest with the buyer so you know exactly what your buying that's why I will be including a link to Photobucket with many High resolution photos. Paint shines beautiful and you can see yourself clearly in the paint while walking down the car. The whole body is intact. Emblems are all in good shape. Pin striping and stickers are in excellent shape. The glass is in very good shape. All lights are in good shape. The trim and bumpers are also all in great condition. As you know the top does remove, I do have the fiberglass piece you put on after the top is off also. Everything opens and closes as it should. Original BBS wheels are in good shape no rash but they do have some paint peel inside the spokes. Great example of an S3 Esprit in its original state. 

Interior: The interior of this Esprit is in good/excellent condition. The seat leather is in nice shape but does have a small 5" tear in the corner of the passenger seat. The arm rest has been recovered black and I believe should be put back to tan. The dash is in very nice condition. The top of the dash above the instrument cluster has some fade in color. The fan knob is missing and the A/C control knob is missing. Has a MOMO Indy wood grain steering wheel that is in perfect condition and a wood grain MOMO Shift knob. Rest of the interior leather and carpet are in good shape. Headliner is also in good shape and does have the factory clock that works. Everything in the interior works as it should. 

Mechanically: The car is in sound mechanical condition. Runs and Drives straight and tight down the road. The handling on the car is incredible. The car does not have any vibrations or shakes. The motor runs smooth and quiet. Does not burn any oil and does not leak anything. Underneath is dry and leak free. The 5 speed Maserati transmission shifts flawlessly and clutch feels great. The car makes full boost and has a ton of power and is a blast to drive. The car has many new parts. The car has had a new tune up recently plugs and wires. New battery. Starter rebuilt. Distributor was gone through and has a new pickup coil. The fuel pumps and fuel filters are new. The car stops as it should no pulsations or grinds in the brakes. Suspension wise the car rides stiff and rolls smooth down the road. The only issue is the brake light on the dash does stay on and I'm not sure why. The tires were just replaced with a factory sized tire front and rear. The headlights flip up and work as they should. I do have some receipts for the recent work done to the car. 

The front trunk is clean and has the factory spare tire and the jack equipment also. The engine compartment is all together and not missing anything. Engine looks clean some of the factory orange paint has peeled off the intake and valve covers but the engine is clean and leak free. The exhaust is quiet and has no leak or common manifold leaks. All the carpet in the engine compartment is intact. The engine cover is in excellent shape and latches as it should. The rear hood shocks do not work very well. The underneath of the car is clean and looks as it should. No rust or oil residue on the parts. The fiberglass covers underneath are all intact and not cracked or busted. 

I tried to explain this Esprit to the best of my knowledge and so you know exactly what you are getting. In conclusion this is one of the cheaper and best performing exotics of the era for the money. Driving one of these cars is a very unique experience and its something that I would recommend to try. These cars are small, light and quick. Surprisingly with how small the car is it is very comfortable and fells very roomy inside. This will be a bidding style auction. Lotus will return to its roots with mid-range model due out in 2021

Lotus knows it can't keep manufacturing the Elise, the Exige, and the Evora indefinitely. It will reportedly begin the process of rejuvenating its range in 2021, when it launches a light, driver-friendly sports car named Type 131. British magazine Auto Express learned the Type 131 — an internal designation that won't reach production; Fiat already owns the 131 nameplate — will be deeply and unabashedly rooted in the company's decades-long heritage. It will embrace Lotus founder Colin Chapman's "simplify and add lightness" philosophy thanks in part to a new platform that should be modular enough to underpin other upcoming additions to the firm's range. Coupe and roadster variants of the 131 will be offered, though only one body style might be available at launch. Although Lotus is working on bringing the electric, limited-edition Evija to production, the Type 131 will eschew all forms of electrification in the name of lightness. Power will come exclusively from a gasoline-burning engine, though the report doesn't specify whether it will have four or six cylinders. Our crystal ball tells us it will be a turbocharged and/or supercharged four-cylinder, because the engine will most likely come from Geely (which purchased a controlling stake in Lotus), and there isn't a six-cylinder on its palette of engines. If the report is accurate, Lotus will share official information about the Type 131 in the coming months, and the model will make its debut in the second half of 2021. Interestingly, it will slot neatly between the Exige and the Evora (pictured) rather than replacing one or both. It's too early to tell whether it will be sold in the United States, but every Lotus official Autoblog has spoken to in recent months has stressed America is an important market. On the opposite side of the scale, Lotus is also developing its first SUV. The yet-unnamed model will be built on a platform sourced from within the Geely group (possibly Volvo's CMA architecture), and it will be developed with an emphasis on performance. Race Recap: 2013 German Grand Prix is old beginnings, new endings [spoilers]

Just like at Silverstone last weekend, the German Formula One Grand Prix started with Lewis Hamilton putting his Mercedes-AMG Petronas on pole. The only thing missing at the pointy end of the grid was his teammate Nico Rosberg, who lined up beside him in England but back in 11th in Germany because of a team error in qualifying. So instead it was Vettel in the first Infiniti Red Bull in second, his teammate Mark Webber in third, the Lotus duo of Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean.
Again, just like at Silverstone - and Canada - Daniel Ricciardo used his magic beans to impress with the Toro Rosso, lining up in sixth, followed by Felipe Massa in the first Ferrari, Fernando Alonso in the second. Jenson Button in the McLaren, Nico Hülkenberg finished up the top ten.
When the lights went green, it didn't take long for the race to become a black-and-blue affair...

2022 Lotus Emira packages and colors detailed along with European pricing

Lotus just dropped all the nitty gritty details on the Emira First Edition, and it even provided European pricing. Unfortunately, we’re being told to wait for official U.S. pricing information, but this gives us a general idea of what to expect. WeÂ’ll start this off by letting you know that an Emira First Edition is fully loaded up with options, making it extra expensive. Europeans will be paying ˆ95,995 for the model, and in case youÂ’re in the U.K., your price is GBP75,995. The Euro equivalent is $112,000 at todayÂ’s exchange rates, while the pound sterling equivalent is about $104,000. Without U.S.-specific pricing available yet, itÂ’s impossible to nail down an exact figure. That said, expect it to be around $100,000 or a little more for the Emira First Edition here. Lotus tells us what you get for your First Edition money, too. It specifies that this model is the “V6 First Edition,” because a not-yet-detailed “i4” First Edition is coming late next year to launch the AMG-sourced four-cylinder model. The V6 comes with the six-speed manual transmission standard. It also adds the available 20-inch forged alloy wheels with a diamond-cut two-tone finish and two-piece brake discs with branded calipers. A bunch of optional packages are fitted as standard with the First Edition. You get the Lower Black Pack, which gives you a glossy black paint finish for the front bumper air blades, front splitter, side sills and rear diffuser. The Drivers Pack gives you the choice between the Tour or Sport suspension (Sport is slightly stiffer). Tour comes with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tires, and Sport comes with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s. The standard Design Pack adds privacy glass, sports pedals, Lotus-branded floor mats, a black Alcantara headliner and the choice of brake calipers in a few different colors. The Convenience Pack then adds front parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers with aero blades, auto-dimming mirrors and a rear luggage storage set. In Europe, this last pack also adds a reverse camera, but that will be standard equipment in the U.S. by law. You can add even more money to the Emira First EditionÂ’s price by opting for the full Black Pack (an extra GBP1,200 or ˆ1,370). This coats a number of other exterior parts in glossy black paint including the roof, mirrors, Lotus badge and exhaust finisher. Lastly, an automatic transmission is available for GBP1,800 or ˆ2,600, but thatÂ’s one you should skip.
