2008 Lotus Elise Sc Rare And Immaculate 60th Anniversary Edition on 2040-cars
Lisle, Illinois, United States
2008 Lotus Elise SC Rare and Immaculate 60th Anniversary Special Edition Lotus In 2008, Lotus created a special 60th Anniversary Supercharged edition and built only 43 of these cars. Of those, only 19 were offered in Phantom Black with the silver stripe. I searched the US for one in 2009 and found this vehicle for sale at a dealership in Cleveland, OH. It had been sitting in a dealer showroom for two years and had only been driven 180 miles to and from an auto show in Ohio. I purchased the car as NEW in January, 2010. It had never been titled. It was shipped in a closed trailer to my home and has never been in inclement weather. This car is in incredible condition. Never a scratch, nick, or dent. Paint is all perfect. Non-smoker. Car still smells new. Every function works perfectly. One
owner car always meticulously maintained by Lotus dealership. TJ Waszak, arguably the best
Lotus mechanic in the Midwest, has personally performed all maintenance, tech
prep, and service and has offered to be a personal reference to the quality of
this car and the way it has been maintained. Back in 2010, TJ added a Moroso Oil Pan ($700)
to this car to increase oil capacity from 4 to 6 quart wet sump and reduce risk of
oil starvation. Also, added Schroth
4-point harness (wide) shoulder belts for safety. The car was recently serviced for resale, including new tires, oil and filter, and a complete tech inspection to confirm car is in perfect condition. Car has been detailed and looks perfect. Car had new brakes and complete brake flush at 16k miles. Car also comes with battery-minder (trickle charge to protect battery) and WeatherShield Car Cover ($350) in great condition (car stays covered in garage). I have the original window sticker that shows price at $63,120. The 60th Anniversary edition was a $7,495 option. It offers components that were only available this one time on an Elise SC. This is the most sought-after car ever to come out of Norfolk, UK. Car comes with the following special features: ·
Upgraded black leather interior utilizing Silver contrast stitching ·
60th Anniversary logos embroidered in the headrests ·
Car is all hand-crafted and this is the shortest production run ever ·

Lotus is building 60 extra light, extra aerodynamic Exige Cup 380s
Thu, Apr 20 2017Lotus is never done adding lightness and once again turned its attention to the Exige. Like so many other special Lotuses, this one, called the Exige Cup 380, makes the same 375 horsepower from its supercharged 3.5-liter V6. However, the weight savings is a significant 117 pounds compared with the 2,447-pound Exige Sport 380. This savings comes from the inclusion of many carbon-fiber parts including a one-piece rear hatch, side intakes, hood, front splitter, side sills, and seats, among others. Lotus also removed the gas struts for the hatch to save 2.2 pounds. And if that's not enough, you can save another 2.2 pounds by choosing the optional HVAC and air vent surrounds, and 22 pounds with an optional exhaust system. The Exige Cup 380 also produces significantly more downforce than the Sport, 43-percent more to be exact. That results in maximum downforce of about 441 pounds at the Cup 380's top speed of 175 mph. The car achieves this thanks to a revised front bumper and splitter, vents above the front wheels, more vents behind the rear wheels, and a new rear wing. Even the windshield wiper rests in a vertical position to aid aerodynamics. The Cup 380 doesn't just benefit from better aerodynamics and less weight. The rear tires are wider than the Sport 380 at 285 mm. The Cup 380 also has two-way adjustable shocks and adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars. Even the stability control can be adjusted to the driver's needs. The car is stopped by four-piston brake calipers at all four corners, and a standard steel roll bar protects the driver. If owners wish, they can also add an FIA-certified full roll cage. Lotus will only build 60 of these Exiges, and they're only available in Europe. They're not cheap either. In the UK, buyers will spend GBP83,000 in the UK and 109,900 in Europe. That means this Exige would cost between $106,000 and $118,000, at current exchange rates. Related Video:
Lotus Evora, Exige, and Elise add lightness to Geneva
Thu, Mar 3 2016The folks at Lotus have been quite busy over the past few months adding lightness to their vehicles. Since December, the company has introduced lighter, quicker versions of the Evora, Exige, and Elise, and all three members of the trio are present at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Each one is special in its own way, but if you crave a nimble sports car, you probably wouldn't be disappointed with any of these new models. The Evora Sport 410 is the most luxurious member of the bunch, at least by Lotus standards. At 2,921 pounds, it's also the heaviest, but a 410-horsepower 3.5-liter supercharged V6 makes this one the most powerful, too. The coupe can rocket to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds and to a 186-mph top speed. Lotus will make just 150 of these special Evoras per year, and they'll have carbon fiber parts for the roof, tailgate, sports seats, and more. Best of all, this will be the only one of these three that will get a North American version. The Exige Sport 350 Roadster is the coolest member of this group, featuring tartan seats that we absolutely love. It's also the quickest of the three, reaching 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, and it tops out at 170 mph. The rapid sprint is possible because the 345-hp 3.5-liter supercharged V6 only needs to push 2,480 pounds. The Elise Cup 250 rounds out the group with the lightest weight at 2,053 pounds (2,030 pounds with the optional Carbon Aero Package) but the least power at 243 hp. However, it certainly isn't slow with a 60-mph run in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 154 mph. Lotus plans to make just 200 of them year each year. If you could pick any one of the three, which would you choose? The Evora might be the most livable every day but chucking around the Elise could be a barrel of fun. There're also those fantastic seats in the Exige. Let us know in Comments which one you want the most.
The Caterham Seven Sprint is a perfect retro-style British roadster
Mon, Sep 12 2016A Caterham Seven oozes retro style. Modern engineering may mean the car no longer shares any parts with its original Lotus counterpart, but one look at the little roadster and it's easy to see the car's heritage. Caterham loves pumping out variants of the Seven, and the 2016 Goodwood Revival seemed like the perfect place to announce the latest version, the throwback Caterham Seven Sprint. Caterham calls the Seven Sprint a design "that was seemingly planned in the mid-1960s but never launched." It's apt then that the company is using it to kick off its "60 Years of the Seven" celebrations. The Seven Sprint is based off the European-only 160 model, meaning it's powered by an 80-hp turbocharged three-cylinder Suzuki engine. While the bonkers Seven 620 R may be the biggest and baddest Caterham available, the bare bones Seven 160 just feels more appropriate here. There are a number of retro styling touches throughout the car. The limited edition Seven Sprint comes wrapped in one of six colors originally offered by Lotus in 1966 and 1967. The Chassis is powder-coated grey, just like the Series 2 Lotus Seven. The cream-colored wheels feature polished hubcaps, while the interior features a wood-trimmed wheel and the interior is trimmed in a wonderful shade of red. The body has been slightly reworked to look more like the original Lotus designed car. Mechanically, not much has changed. Power from the Suzuki three is fed through a five-speed manual. Some of the suspension bits are similar to Colin Chapman's original design, but that's true of the standard 160. The car should be just as much of a riot as any other Caterham, just packed to the gills with style. The Seven Sprint is available only as a fully-complete factory car. It's unknown if any of the 60 produced will make it to the US. Prices in the UK start at GBP27,995, or about $37,000.
