Car is being relisted because it was purchased by a user with 0 feedback and no intent of paying or following through in any way. Up for your consideration today, we have a 2 owner 2006 Lotus Elise with ~29,900 miles on it (I say this because while this listing is active the car is being driven). This car is awesome. I have been the owner since January of 2013. When I got the car then it has about 13,000 miles on it. I have put ~17,000 on it in the last nearly 2 years, and every one of those miles was a blast. Since I have owned it, the car has been well maintained and serviced. I had a local lotus dealer take care of the oil line connector recall when I first purchased, and I have had a set of tires and a clutch / lightweight flywheel installed in that time. Other than that and of course regular oil changes, air filters, and other standard maintenance, the car has been 100% problem free. The car came stock with a Starshield paint protection (seriously don't buy a lotus without it), Stage 2 exhaust, soft top and matching hardtop, power windows, traction control, power doorlocks, central locking, and keyless entry. Also this is a 2006 which means its the first year to get the upgraded LED Tail lights, which is a huge cosmetic upgrade. The car is mostly stock with a few tasteful additions. I added a Carbon Fiber Weighted Shift Knob for better shifter feel A custom Carbon Fiber Lower Dash Panel Custom Black Lotus Front Emblem Stage 2 Clutch added at ~22,000 miles in preparation for forced induction (which of course i never got around to :) ) Lightweight Flywheel (still very streetable and easy to drive) Black Lug Nuts Custom Carpeted Interior (easy removal if buyer doesn't like) Odyssey PC 925 Battery Custom Mount for Battery Polk Audio Rear Speakers Rockford Fostgate Amp JVC KD NX 5000 Head Unit (previous owner installed) Kenwood KSC-SW1 (previous owner installed) Tinted Reflectors (sheet tint peels right off) Also Included: The stock Owners info (books ect) are included Hard Top Cover Soft top bag Stock Front Emblem Stock Side carpets Passanger Footrest 100% brand new Silverstar 2.0 High and Low beam headlights never installed Please ask any questions before you bid! Im here to help. Also Interior pics are the next step (I want to fully detail the interior before taking them) I will also upload a driving video!

Lotus bows out of Paris Motor Show

Mon, 16 Jul 2012

The plan put forth by former Lotus CEO Dany Bahar was to explode the British brand into the high-dollar sports car segment and directly challenge its marquee names. The first explosion came with the surprise introduction of five concepts at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. What has continued to surprise, though, is that the explosions haven't stopped: parent company Proton has had troubles leading to a reworking of its Formula One involvement, its IndyCar effort has had a rough ride, Proton's sale to Malaysian conglomerate DRB Hicom led to a production stoppage, and while the company was reassured that it wouldn't be sold, Bahar was shown the door - along with four of those Paris concepts, as far as we can tell. Yet the company is still making highly regarded cars and going racing.
So it shouldn't be all that surprising that, according to a report in Car and Driver, Lotus won't be attending this year's Paris Motor Show at all. Lotus didn't have much to show off at the Geneva Motor Show or the New York Show as all development was halted for two months, and the new corporate owner and new CEO installed by that owner are still working through the details of its niche English property. We will hope this is nothing more than a step in the reorganization, and look forward to seeing the Hethel firm again in Los Angeles or Detroit.

Lotus Advanced Performance division wants to make your dreams come true

Wed, Feb 9 2022

Lotus took a big step in its quest to position itself as a British alternative to Porsche by launching a division called Advanced Performance. Run by a former Aston Martin executive, Lotus Advanced Performance will design and build one-off and few-off models, among other tasks. Most high-end and specialty carmakers operate a program that gives customers some degree of freedom in terms of customization. Lotus was, until now, largely an exception to this rule. It hopes to make up for lost time by giving its Advanced Performance division a surprisingly long list of responsibilities. First the department will be responsible for building "ultra-exclusive and unique vehicles" that will not be part of the firm's regular-production line-up. One of these (shown in a sketch above) looks like it draws inspiration from classic Formula One cars. Details are few and far between, but the massive rear wing speaks volumes about the kind of halo cars we'll see in the not-too-distant future. What's unclear is whether Lotus will take customer requests. We've reached out, and we'll update this story if we learn more. Designing limited-edition models and developing race cars will also fall within the scope of Advanced Performance's responsibilities. And, it's the door that buyers who want to customize their car will need to knock on; they'll be able to select different paint colors, trim materials, and upholsteries. Optional extras and a range of Lotus-branded accessories will also emerge from Advanced Performance's headquarters. Immersing customers and enthusiasts into the Lotus world is important as well, so Advanced Performance will organize tours of the brand's production lines, organize driving academies around the world (including on the Hethel test track in England) and prepare "money can't buy" opportunities for clients. There's no word yet on what these experiences will look like; more information should emerge later in 2022. Lotus put Simon Lane in charge of its Advanced Performance division. He's a good choice: his resume includes leading Aston Martin's Q division, whose list of responsibilities looks a lot like Advanced Performance's. Q notably brought us the V8-powered Cygnet in 2018 and the one-of-a-kind Victor unveiled in 2020. Some of its other projects have been more tame: it gave the DBX a long list of carbon fiber parts. Recap: 2013 Australian Formula One Grand Prix is all about the rubber [w/spoilers]

Sun, 17 Mar 2013

A pre-season full of talking points was swapped for a brand-new set of talking points after the running of the opening grand prix of the 2013 Formula One season. The consistency of the regulations from last year to this year and the triplicate dominance of Infiniti Red Bull Racing meant that no one would have been that surprised if the relative order of things remained the same. But teams found so many ways to switch things up that, in typical pre-season fashion, no one was ready to make any bets on in-season performance, and a couple of surprising players suffered the ignominy of getting it really wrong: McLaren knew it was in trouble from the very first test, while Williams drivers applauded their car as the best in years, only to have Pastor Maldonado call it "undriveable" on the very first day of practice in Melbourne.
And then there were those Pirellis, the Italian company talking up the fact that its super soft tires would only go off so quickly that it would force teams to pit at least twice during the race.
Even then, no one could have seen the first round of pit stops beginning on Lap 5.
