2005 Town Car Limousine. New Engine!! New Rear!! on 2040-cars
Somers Point, New Jersey, United States
UP FOR AUCTION IS A 2005 LINCOLN TOWN CAR LIMOUSINE. IT WAS CONVERTED BY FEDERAL LIMOUSINE COMPANY. I'VE HAD THIS LIMO FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR. I HAVE USED IT FOR PERSONAL USE DURING THAT TIME. THE CAR HAS 355,000 MILES ON IT. THERE IS MINIMAL RUST ON THE OUTSIDE, BODY IS IN GOOD SHAPE. THIS CAR FLOATS DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 80MPH. VERY SMOOTH. IT HAS THE EXTRA LONG 5TH DOOR. THIS IS A VERY NICE OPTION TO HAVE. IT MAKES IT VERY EASY FOR EVERYONE TO EXIT THE LIMO. THE PASSENGER AREA IS VERY NICE AND HAS LED LIGHTS AND FIBER OPTICS. TIRES HAVE A LOT OF TREAD LEFT. I HAVE PUT OVER $7000 WORTH OF WORK INTO THIS CAR IN THE LAST YEAR. THAT LIST INCLUDES: NEW ENGINE WITH APPROXIMATELY 59,000 MILES NEW IGNITION COILS AND SPARK PLUGS NEW ALTERNATOR NEW OXYGEN SENSORS COMPLETE BRAND NEW REAR INCLUDING AXLES, AXLE SEALS, CARRIER, SPIDER GEARS, BEARINGS...EVERYTHING NEW WINDOW TINT ON 2 OF THE WINDOWS NEW VINYL TOP NEW REAR SUSPENSION AIR BAGS NEW BLEND DOORS MIDDLE SEAT IN PASSENGER AREA WAS REUPHOLSTERED NEW INSIDE COVERS FOR FENDER WELLS NEW POWER STEERING HOSES JUST HAD THE A/C SERVICED THERE ARE A COUPLE OF THINGS THAT NEED TO BE DONE. CATALYTIC CONVERTER ON DRIVERS SIDE MAKES A RATTLING SOUND. ROCKAUTO.COM SELLS THE CAT FOR $143.00. THE PARTITION WILL NEED A NEW MOTOR SOON. THE PARTITION WORKS IF I TAP IT WITH A HAMMER. BECAUSE THERE'S NO PASSENGER SEAT, THE CAR MAKES 5 SETS OF 5 BONGS EVERY 30 MILES. IF YOU INSTALL A NEW SEAT, THE BONGS WILL GO AWAY. THE DRIVER'S WINDOW GOES SLIGHTY OFF THE TRACK WHEN GOING UP. THIS CAR IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND I WOULD DRIVE IT ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITHOUT EVEN WORRYING ABOUT IT. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A 9 YEAR OLD CAR AND IT IS NOT PERFECT. I JUST CHANGED THE OIL AND FILTER, SO IT IS READY TO GO.

Lincoln teases electric concept SUV that will debut soon
Mon, Apr 11 2022An electric Lincoln concept vehicle is going to be revealed on April 20, and today Lincoln is giving us a quick glimpse of what to expect. Before we detail the few shots of the car itself, here’s all Lincoln told us about the vehicle: “The global concept serves as inspiration for our fully electric Lincoln vehicles coming in the near future.” So, expect to see elements taken out of this concept car applied to production cars later this decade. As of now, the main theme we can see in the teaser is light. Lincoln is using LED lighting tech all over the car, and itÂ’s even in some unique spots like the roof, hood and fenders. ThereÂ’s a good chance this lighting doesnÂ’t make it anywhere near a production car, but it gives us a look at where LincolnÂ’s heads are at with design. Clearly, light will be key. Where the light makes more sense is in the light-up Lincoln badges all over the concept. We can see the massive light-up badge in front, smaller light-up badge on the side and the “Lincoln” spelled out with light-up letters on the rear. ItÂ’s also important to note that this concept is an SUV of sorts. We can see very little of the actual design, but itÂ’s no surprise to see Lincoln using the SUV body style as inspiration for its future EVs. The little we can see of the grille/front of the car makes it look like a wide and largely empty expanse of space. Most of the detailing is shrouded in darkness, so weÂ’ll just have to wait until April 20 to see what Lincoln has cooked up for us. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. McConaughey's bizarre new Continental ad is perfect parody material
Tue, Dec 20 2016So let's say you're running a car company and have a luxurious new flagship sedan and need to advertise it. What do you do? Did you answer with "film a commercial with a barely coherent Hollywood actor standing in a pond?" If so, perhaps you work for Lincoln, which brought back Matthew McConaughey to do another bizarre car ad. It starts with McConaughey and a Continental standing on a body of water. He starts talking about staring (or not staring) at the Conti, and then about sitting in the back seat (or not). The ad then cuts to McConaughey in the back who replies to the McConaughey in the front seat. Presumably, there are two McConaugheys at this point, and the front seat one just laughs in a slightly unsettling manner. He then makes a clicking noise, closes the center console and drives away. You can't make this stuff up. It's thoroughly strange, but we can't say we're entirely surprised. When Lincoln first launched some bizarre ads with McConaughey muttering sweet nothings about the MKC, the company got loads of attention. Admittedly a lot of that attention was to make fun of it, but you know the old saying that there's no such thing as bad press. Lincoln even brought him back for an encore in ads for the MKX and MKZ. In truth, we're also glad to see another bizarre Lincoln ad, mostly because we're hoping for another round of great parodies like the classic Jim Carrey spoof that aired on Saturday Night Live. Check out the ad above to see the strangeness. Related Video:
Ford recalls 650,000 trucks and SUVs for defective wipers
Thu, Apr 21 2022Ford announced earlier this month that it is recalling 652,996 F-Series pickups, Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators produced for the 2020 and 2021 model years to address an issue that may cause their windshield wipers to separate, reducing visibility and leading to potentially hazardous driving conditions. According to the Blue Oval, one of its suppliers used worn tooling components that resulted in wiper arms being produced with splines that are not tall enough to fully engage the motor pivots they're mounted to, which can cause the connection to strip when the motors are turned on. This could result in the wiper arms not moving at all, or engaging only intermittently. "Worn wiper arm spline tooling core inserts at the supplier resulted in insufficient spline tooth height, which can cause the arm attachment to strip when used with a certain wiper motors with higher torque," Ford said in its defect report to NHTSA. "Potential symptoms include erratic or slow wipe speed of the driver or passenger wiper arm. An improper functioning wiper arm may potentially result in reduced visibility in certain conditions, which could increase the risk of a crash." Ford says the vehicles were not produced in VIN order, so while not all of the nearly 653,000 vehicles have bad wiper arms, they're all suspect until proven safe. Ford will notify owners of the recall campaign starting in May. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
