THIS IS A LOCAL THREE OWNER CAR THAT HAS BEEN AROUND OUR TOWN SINCE IT WAS NEW. IT HAS SPENT MOST OF IT'S LIFE IN A GARAGE AS MOST OF THIS CAR IS VERY NICE IN IT'S ORIGINAL CONDITION. WE ACQUIRED THIS CAR AS A TRADE-IN UNIT AND IT HAD BEEN SITTING FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. WE TOOK THE FUEL TANK OUT, DRAINED IT AND CLEANED THE LINES, REBUILT THE CARBURETOR AND INSTALLED A NEW FUEL PUMP. WE ALSO PUT ON A NEW IGNITION CONTROL MODULE AND FLUSHED, CLEANED AND REPLACED THE BRAKE FLUID. IT NOW STARTS EASY, RUNS VERY GOOD AND JUST DRIVES OUT LIKE IT WAS NEW! WHAT A RIDE THESE BIG OLD LUXURY CARS PROVIDE! THE INTERIOR IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH THE LEATHER LOOKING VERY NICE AND THAT HEAVY PLUSH CARPET THAT LOOKS LIKE IT IS INCHES DEEP! ALL THE POWER EQUIPMENT WORKS INCLUDING THE ANTENNA. THE BRIGHT CHROME TRIM AND BOTH BUMPERS ARE ALL IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND THOSE NICE SHINY POLISHED WHEELS AND CENTER CAPS ARE ALL IN FANTASTIC CONDITION. WHILE THE CAR HAS SOME BLEMISHES AS DESCRIBED IN THE ABOVE CONDITION REPORT AREA, IT REALLY IS IN QUITE REMARKABLE CONDITION FOR AN UNRESTORED ALL ORIGINAL 1976 MODEL CAR. THE TIRES ARE 85% OR BETTER AND NO SIGN OF AGE DUE TO TIME ON THE CAR. WE AREN'T SURE HOW LONG AGO THEY GOT PUT ON BUT THEY SURE DON'T HAVE VERY MANY MILES ON THEM AND ARE GOOD TO MAKE THE DRIVE HOME TO YOUR HOUSE NO MATTER HOW FAR YOU LIVE AWAY FROM US. ALL OF THE LIGHTS WORK GOOD INCLUDING THE LITTLE OPERA WINDOW LIGHTS AND THOSE NEAT TURN SIGNAL ACTIVATED CORNERING LIGHTS. WE HAVE THE CAR FOR SALE ON OUR LOT WITH A RETAIL PRICE OF $5500.00 AND WE WILL END THE AUCTION EARLY FOR THAT PRICE. THE OPENING BID OF $3900.00 WILL PUT YOU IN FIRST PLACE TO OWN THE CAR AND YOU WILL THEN HAVE SOME SAY IN THE CARS DESTINY. IF WE GET A LOCAL BUYER ON IT AND THEY AGREE TO PAY MORE THAN YOUR BID, WE WILL HAVE THEM BID ON THE CAR SO IF YOU DESIRE TO BID HIGHER TO SAVE IT FOR YOURSELF THAT IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR YOU. WE HOPE TO SELL THIS CAR ON EBAY AND THRU THE SITE SO EVERYBODY THAT WANTS TO TRY TO BID TO OWN WILL GET THAT OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO. BMW reclaims US luxury sales crown from Mercedes
Tue, Jan 6 2015The numbers, they are in: BMW has reclaimed the luxury-sales crown from Mercedes by a margin of 9,347 cars. Mercedes donned the king's headgear in 2013 after a strong final quarter of 2013 when the new CLA and S-Class poured out of dealerships. This year, led by the 3 Series/4 Series and X5, BMW sold 339,738 units – a 9.8-percent increase year-on-year. Mercedes, led by the C-Class and M-Class, saw its sales go up by 5.7 percent to 330,391 units. We'll have to wait a bit to see if there's another registrations-vs-sales challenge as in 2012, when BMW was anointed US luxury ruler. Behind them, a dark horse named Lexus nudged closer to the leading Teutons, selling 311,389 cars. The Japanese luxury automaker also had the biggest gain among the top three, its sales rising by 13.7 percent compared to 2013. Audi had the biggest sales of anyone among the top five, though, with a 15.2-percent gain to 182,011, which moved it a spot ahead of Cadillac; the Wreath-and-Crest brand dropped 6.5 percent to 170,750. Acura (167,843), Infiniti (117,300), and Lincoln (94,474) took the final positions. Speaking of Lincoln, sales at the once-mighty luxury marque stand as the mightiest jump of any on this list, up 15.6 percent. That's the power of Matthew McConaughey... and better cars and a new crossover, sure. So now that we're back to Round One of 2015, in case no one else has said it yet: "Ok, fight!"
50 new vehicles by 2025: Ford making big push in China
Tue, Dec 5 2017SHANGHAI — Ford will launch 50 new vehicles in China by 2025, including 15 electrified vehicles, the U.S. firm said at an event in Shanghai on Tuesday, as it looks to rev up sales growth in the market and shift towards cleaner electric cars. Ford's sales in China have been weak in recent months, and the company is scrambling to come up with electric and hybrid vehicles to comply with strict Chinese quotas over production and sales for so-called new energy vehicles, or NEVs. The U.S. automaker is undergoing a broad review of its China operations, part of a strategic re-think under new Chief Executive Officer Jim Hackett, which will likely see the company focus on electric commercial vans as well as electric cars. "Between now and 2025, we will launch 50 new vehicles in China, and of those 50 new vehicles, 15 of them will be all-new electrified vehicles," said Peter Fleet, Ford's head of Asia Pacific, pointing to big growth in the "utility" segment. Fleet also said Ford's China revenue would grow by 50 percent over the same period. China is pushing automakers toward electric and hybrid petrol-electric vehicles, setting tough quotas for NEVs that come into play in 2019, and has signaled a longer-term shift away from traditional internal combustion engine cars. The major shift in the world's largest auto market has jolted some automakers, sparking a spate of recent electric vehicle (EV) joint ventures in the market. Ford has announced an EV tie-up with China's Anhui Zotye Automobile Co Ltd. "We've never seen change like we do today," said Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford. "Everything is being disrupted" by the development of autonomous vehicles, trends such as ride-sharing and electric vehicles, he added. "It's clearly the case that China will lead the world in EV development, and so we at Ford are investing enormous amounts of money both here in China and globally to bring electrification into fruition." 2021 Cadillac Escalade vs. 2020 Lincoln Navigator | How they compare on paper
Wed, Feb 5 2020The 2021 Cadillac Escalade arrived late last night, and we all know what that means: It’s comparison time. Specifically, weÂ’re pitting the new Escalade versus the 2020 Lincoln Navigator. The sales gap between the long-time competitors has grown dangerously close for Cadillac ever since the revolutionary new Navigator came out for the 2018 model year. In 2019, the Navigator was only about 4,000 units down from the Escalade. Cadillac intends to widen that gap back up with a new truck, and now itÂ’s time to see if itÂ’s brought the right goods to the party. With the redesigned model that now features an independent rear suspension, these two are more alike than theyÂ’ve been in a long time. The Escalade was stuck with the less space-efficient solid rear end up until now, as GM hadnÂ’t yet made the switch to IRS that Ford long-ago did. Now that it has, these two are super similar from a dimensions perspective. Cadillac was playing catch-up in this fight, so it knew exactly where it needed to aim to come out victorious in a specs battle such as this one. A quick note on the chart below. Both of these models have a “regular” and “long” version. The EscaladeÂ’s long variant is still named ESV, and the NavigatorÂ’s long version is simply named L. In the dimensions section, we distinguish between the two with a “/” — the “regular” length version is on the left, and the “long” version is on the right side of the slash. The numbers are below: Powertrain The Lincoln Navigator still reigns supreme when it comes to power, as the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 is high on both horsepower and torque. GMÂ’s small-block V8 comes close, but ultimately falls short by 30 horsepower and 50 pound-feet of torque to the twin-turbo V6. Cadillac does have an ace up its sleeve, though. It comes in the form of the 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-six engine. Lincoln hasnÂ’t dropped the PowerStroke diesel into the Navigator (and we'd be shocked if it does), so Cadillac has a unique offering in this segment now. The diesel will be optional on the Escalade, but it has less horsepower and the same amount of torque as the V8. We expect the big advantage for the diesel will come in fuel economy, an area where the Silverado Duramax diesel currently outpaces the full-size truck competition. Both of these big SUVs come standard with 10-speed automatic transmissions. Intriguingly, itÂ’s the 10-speed automatic that was co-developed between Ford and GM.
