Selling my garage-kept 1968 Lincoln Continental with an original 47,333 mi. in the color Belmont Green with green leather interior. Lots of options, many of them rare. Everything is original except for having installed a Pertronix II setup a recent basic tune up. Does have air conditioning but it doesn't work at this time (I know it at least will need recharge, I've never turned it on).

It was a Minnesota and Iowa car until I brought it down to Georgia. It does not seem to have the telltale signs of having been driven much, if at all, in the winter/rain and the previous owner's father (who was the original owner) only drove it on occasion. I only drove it on sunny days here in the ATL. I did plan on a complete paint job, though, as it does have some rust in the typical spots - but it looks to be surface rust.

Sale includes a spare MEL 462 engine and associated transmission from a 1967 Lincoln Continental, both of which were rebuilt in the late 80's. The engine was running about a year ago but I do not have the equipment to run it to demonstrate - it turns. Also comes with all of the parts you see in the trunk which include a case of oil, a Motorcraft filter, a new timing chain and sprocket, new pushrods, a set of new belts, a new high-volume oil pump and associated gaskets. You also you see the Pertronix box inside of which is the original points/coil. I also include a cover that fits the car perfectly (not shown in photos). I also have a spare front passenger door from the same car the aforementioned engine/tranny came from. I can bubble wrap that and throw it in the trunk for you (it's heavy as sin though). Perhaps you may want that...

The car will not change hands until payment has cleared. Happy to deliver the car, engine, and transmission to you within a 100-mi radius of my house for free. Delivery of the engine will not include the engine stand. Any further than 100 mi. and I'll charge a fee. Delivery by me is at my convenience and will most likely be only on a Sunday.

By the way, the tires are pretty much new (maybe 2,500 miles on them) and the tie rods have been replaced. Yes, it does have a spare tire and the original tire jack kit. No rust on the truck lid (a common problem).

Please see video on YouTube (http://youtu.be/9XTopyw1KZk) (you'll have to copy/paste that link) and photos and let me know if you have any questions. Happy to take photos by request.

If you want to ship the vehicle using a vehicle shipping service, I'm happy to be there for the driver but I can't arrange or pay for shipping for you. I'm nearby Atlanta and off of a major truck route from Florida to the north (I-75) so I'd imagine it wouldn't been all that hard to get the car shipped. It was about $375 for me to ship it from Iowa to Georgia but I can't guarantee that price.

Know that, as with ALL car sales, this is an as-is sale. If you purchase the car sight unseen, you are purchasing an unrestored classic Lincoln in great shape for its age that gets compliments every time it sees the light of day and has won a couple "top 5"-type trophies at local car shows. So long as you pay for the required shipping, you'll also get a spare engine and tranny at no additional cost. Plus all the other parts you see in the trunk. It, like any car, has its issues and I have expressed in the video the issues that I am aware of. I'm not trying to screw people, but do not come back to me whining about something I didn't mention and apparently should have known about (because I'm apparently some know-it-all of every tidbit of everything) - it's a 45 year old car and it needs someone to love it. I'm selling it because, while I do love it, I won't be able to "love, love" it (do all the work I want to do to it) for a couple years and I thought maybe someone might have the time now for it.  I've seen 5 year old cars in terrible shape - this is a really great original Lincoln that you can work on, drive, and still enjoy over time - it ain't no rust bucket POS junk missing key parts. So let's not play that "I want money from you because..." game... it's not happening. Again, this is an as-is unrestored classic car purchase - there are no refunds, no partial refunds, no warranty, and no whining.

Viewings will be scheduled and at a location convenient to me, not where the car is stored for security.  I'm happy to meet you at the ATL airport with the car if the meeting is at a convenient time for me.

2024 Lincoln Nautilus First Drive Review: Lincoln's moonshot (with nits to pick)

Thu, Mar 14 2024

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – It was only a decade ago when Lincoln seemed destined to go the way of Oldsmobile and Mercury. Odd styling, cheap retro interiors and blatant parts sharing with supporting Ford vehicles had this storied American luxury brand trailing the competition by a significant margin. Then things started turning around with the reborn Continental sedan in 2017, followed by the massive and massively improved Navigator the following year. In hindsight, I equate those to the Mercury and Gemini space programs that led to Apollo and the game-changing moonshot. After driving the all-new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus throughout the Palm Springs area, it could very well deserve the accolades and ticker tape parades bestowed upon NASA in 1969. Starting with the new styling, this second-generation Nautilus manages to stand out from the crowd without shouting. There's a quiet resolve in the rounded-over corners and subtle sculpting. The appropriately sized grille has suggestions of woven Bentley rods while a distinctive horizontal bar connects the Lincoln emblem to the narrow LED headlights. Below, two brushed metal accents anchor the fascia with a classy foundation. Down the sides, a distinctive flourish spans almost the entire length of the front doors, and the absence of traditional door handles gives the profile an unusually clean look. Those door handles are integrated into the window frame in the same manner as the Continental, further emphasizing the way reflections and shadows dance across the gentle curves of the bodywork. Around back, there are echoes of Audi or Porsche, but not in a derivative way since it integrates well with the rest of the Nautilus. To my hyper-critical styling eye, I can only find the slightest of nitpicks in a series of horizontal stripes present in the rearmost side window that are repeated in the edges of the headlights and taillights. My nitpicking is typically a good omen, as it means there isn't anything significant to fault it for, and that could very well be the theme of this review. While the exterior is suitably attractive, the interior is downright stunning. The biggest attention-getter is the 48-inch curved panoramic display that spans the entire length of the dashboard. It's the type of design element expected of a concept or prohibitively expensive luxury vehicle, not a production SUV starting in the low $50,000 range. Even better, it works.

2018 Ford Expedition spied looking stylish

Tue, Sep 6 2016

The Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator got a cool reception for their 2015 warmed-over redesign. But with big, high-riding vehicles once again in vogue, Ford is pushing ahead with a ground-up redesign of its biggest SUVs. Based on these spy shots, the Expedition will continue to serve as the Navigator's more affordable twin. Yes, that's a bold prediction, considering we still haven't spotted Lincoln testing the new Navigator, but study the greenhouses on this Expedition prototype and the Navigator Concept from New York – from the arrow-straight belt line to the extra-long rear window to the aggressively raked windshield, this Expedition's overall profile is broadly similar to what Lincoln previewed earlier this year. While our spies claim the new Expedition will look to the F-150 for design inspiration, we see a departure from past Expedition tradition. Unlike the supposed Expedition spy shots we showed you nearly a year ago – which was nothing more than an SUV with an F-150's nose grafted on, this prototype's front-end styling looks softer and more aerodynamic, with a smaller grille and headlights, almost like an Escape or Edge. This kind of change would explain the additional front-end camouflage. In back, our spies rightly point out that Ford fitted a faux rear end to disguise the rear window's rake – expect the real thing to feature the angled rear window previewed on the Navigator Concept. Look at the last image in the gallery for a better idea of how the Expedition's rear window will actually look. We can't say a lot about the taillights, because of the camo, but non-LED taillights are present. We'd expect Ford to offer LEDs on higher trim levels. While the F-150's styling might not make the transition to the Expedition, its powertrains and emphasis on lightweight aluminum will. Our spies report the biggest SUV will ride on a new T3 platform and feature an aluminum body, with the F-150's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. Expect a ten-speed automatic transmission and start/stop tech for sure, while the smaller 2.7-liter, twin-turbo V6 could slot in as the Expedition's base engine – we're less sure on that one. And we're even more uncertain of the rumors of an Expedition Hybrid. Our spies report it could mate a 3.5-liter V6 with an electric motor(s) and battery packs for a more economical full-size SUV. Expect to see the 2018 Expedition debut in January, at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show.

2025 Lincoln Aviator revealed with new face, more tech, no more PHEV

Mon, Feb 5 2024

The 2025 Lincoln Aviator is here wearing the model’s first refresh since its launch for the 2020 model year. ThatÂ’s a long period of time to go without any significant changes, but luckily for Lincoln, the Aviator never really fell out of favor. This refresh follows the Ford ExplorerÂ’s update for 2025, its platform mate, and the scope of changes made to the Lincoln is similar. The exterior wears the new Lincoln family front fascia with a taller grille, new LED headlights that creep into the grille itself and an updated front bumper. Nothing changes out back, but Lincoln says both the LED daytime running lights and LED taillights now feature welcome and goodbye animations. Two new colors join the palette – Cenote Green (pictured first in the gallery at the top of this post) and Whisper Blue Metallic – and a couple of new wheel designs arrive for 2025, too. None of these updates drastically change the handsome Aviator, which weÂ’re fine with because this sleek Lincoln three-row SUV has always looked dashing. Only one engine option is available for the Aviator, which is the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 that makes 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to either the rear wheels or to all wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission, which Lincoln says is re-calibrated this year for smoother performance. Unfortunately, the Grand Reserve PHEV trim that was dropped for the 2024 model year will not be returning in 2025. Lincoln tells us that its take rate of just 14% wasnÂ’t enough to justify continuing to build it, which is a real shame, because that was one quick plug-in hybrid SUV with 494 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. The good news on the mechanical side of things is that the adaptive suspension is now standard instead of optional. The air suspension continues to be available as either an option on the Reserve trim or standard equipment on the Black Label. The biggest changes come inside the Aviator. A new dash design does away with climate control buttons, tucking them into the touchscreen. The start/stop button moves to sit next to the other “piano key” style shift buttons, and the center stack is simplified with more empty space for beautiful trim to sprawl across. The storage areas in the center console are slightly re-jiggered, with the one pocket on the left being the new wireless phone charger.
