1963 lincoln continental make offer - $8000 (tarzana)

Make an offer on this one of a kind (kind of, not really) never before seen (im sure they made a lot of them but they are rather rare) super machine of awesomeness. ok that last part is true but do keep in mind this is not a stock car. this is a hot rod Lincoln. this car is still one of the most sought after tuna boat hot rods in film, tv, and daily life. They have used this very model in films from the Matrix to popular HBO shows. you will impress many people with this car.

why am I selling it? honestly I rather wouldn't. I would rather take my time and love on the thing daily until kick the bucket but I also would like to move to another state with the rest of my toys and I do not want to haul this car across country.

yes it drives, very well when it is not leaking. please see below for details but again I cannot stress enough this is a simple repair that will make this car a dependable daily if you don't mind the gas.

the gas, this is a racing motor with a small rv cam ( I have the spec sheet, don't ask me now I will not get up from my comfy couch to go look at it, you understand), this was not done by me. however the car likes 97+ octane fuel and with the high compression will knock a bit with straight pump gas. it will run all day long but you must remember this motor is rated at over 500hp.

lets see, some history.
Kennedy bought a 61 Lincoln but had a grill from a 63 installed because he liked it better.
Brad Pitt once rode in this car (sure it was merely his face on a dvd box but it counts).
Al Bundy, Ted Bundy's older brother, lost his virginity in this car and gifted it to his mother in law who started a tv show based on the dysfunctional family exploits of her now estranged son in law.
Aliens from Pleiades have personally converted 6 people to a very popular religion while riding in the back seat of this car, two of which reside in NOHO and one is starting a band. They would like to use this car in an upcoming music video so I hope you like hip hop.
the current pope is on record saying that his next car will be this car, so I hope you buy it first because I don't want to ship this to Italy.

THE CAR

1963 lincoln continental. 535 horse power. Make me an offer

positives

new/ish SVO 460. super cobra jet aluminum heads.
brand new holly 800 double pump carb.
msd ingnition/distributor.
new chrome alternator.
new starter.
new chrome Saginaw powersteering pump.
new cap, rotor, plugs, wires, coil, fuel filter.
rebuilt beefed up c-6 transmission heavy duty clutch plates and stall converter.
fresh brake pads and inspection as of 1 yr ago and very little miles since.
new headlights, new rear shocks. plenty of extra parts including chrome trim misc. switches, switch plates head light beazel etc. key for locks and trunk although all the extra parts are in sacramento in storage.
retail value of engine alone is 8k. not including carb, msd ignition.
heavy duty trans approx 1k miles.
tires certified at america's tire company.

negatives.

the end seals under the intake manifold need to be replaced so the oil is leaking past. I had paid a friend to clean up the intake and reinstall it because I hurt my arm and could not, he did not do a great job. I have the new gaskets but would rather not spend the time or effort. this is a 2-3 hour job for a hobbyist, much less for a professional. we can discuss this in the price but I know how much this job costs to fix so its not that big of an issue.
has some body rust at quarter panels behnd the tire. has some minor dents. previous owner cut a hole in the hood for air cleaner. seats need recovering. back seat burnt. passenger door front right and rear driver windows do not roll down every time. the motors work, ( i can hear them) but not always action.

Terms

I am not out to scam anyone but I cannot warranty this or any other vehicle, I am but one man. that said this car is being sold AS IS, with no warranty expressed or implied. This is hot rod and project, if you do not expect to get dirty...buy a Honda. I would consider running pick up 30's - 50's plus cash.

This vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel this listing.

2017 Lincoln Continental pricing undercuts Cadillac CT6

Wed, Apr 13 2016

For 40,000 people interested in purchasing a new Lincoln Continental, today is the day they've been waiting for. We have the full and complete list of prices and optional extras for the luxury brand's big, new sedan. The Continental will be offered in four trims – Premiere, Select, Reserve, and Black Label. The Premiere starts at $45,485 (including $925 in destination pricing), while the Select kicks off at $48,440. Speaking of the Select, the base 3.7-liter V6 can be swapped for a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, if you've got $2,250 to burn, driving the price up to $50,690. Going to the Reserve gets you more kit and the 2.7-liter comes standard, but the price increases to $54,840. Finally, the base Black Label starts at $63,840. In the case of both the high-end trims, Lincoln will let you upgrade to the eagerly anticipated 400-horsepower, 3.0-liter V6 for $3,265. All-wheel drive is a $2,000 option regardless of trim or engine. Standalone options include Lincoln's "Perfect Position" seats, a $1,500 feature that adds 30-way adjustability. It's easy to drive those prices up, of course. Lincoln is offering five options packages, spread across the Select, Reserve, and Black Label trims. The Select Plus (blind-spot monitoring and Sync 3) adds $1,255 to the price of the Select. The $695 Climate Pack (automatic high beams, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and rain sensing wipers) and $3,105 Technology Pack (360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, Enhanced Active Park Assist, lane keeping assist, and forward collision warning) can be added to the Select, Reserve, and Black Label. The $4,300 Rear-Seat Pack (heated, cooled, and multi-contour rear seats, inflatable rear belts, and a panoramic sunroof) will pamper backseat passengers on the high-end Reserve and Black Label, while the $5,000 Luxury Package will add LED headlamps and a 19-speaker Revel stereo to the Reserve trim. Standalone options include Lincoln's "Perfect Position" seats, a $1,500 feature that adds 30-way adjustability. That's just silly. More common features include a $1,130 Revel stereo, a $1,750 panoramic sunroof, $750 20-inch wheels, and a $335 CD player. So yeah, don't expect many of those base prices to make it to the showroom without some swelling. By our math, the Conti tops out at a cool $82,400. Lincoln says it's big target for the Conti is Audi A6, and its pricing matches up neatly with that car. The front-drive 2.0-liter turbocharged A6 Premium starts at $47,125.

Ford Motor Company applied this month to get the rights to the trademark for the word Zephyr. We think the MKZ might be rebadge as the Lincoln Zephyr.

Vintage photos: How presidential limos evolved from open convertibles to Biden's armored Cadillac
