This is a two tone Mark ll, one of 16, with maybe 3 originals left, Dark Bronze roof, Light bronze lower. This car is at least 80% there. The frame is bad. Listed below is what the winning bid receives.

This car has a nice body for being 57 years old.

The front floor pans have already been replaced.

Exhaust in the car is very solid.

A good radio core with the KNOBS to use for a conversion to am/fm.

A real nice instrument cluster, with working gauges.

Power seat motors, front door window motors.

The rear seat can be dyed and reused, the front will have to be redone.

Passenger side rocker molding is in decent shape, And you will get a NOS driver side rocker with the car. [$700 value]

Hood chrome trim is very nice shape.

Front and rear bumpers clean up real nice and are good driver quality.

Both taillight assby are there, and the hinges are in good shape on the fuel tank side.

The car has tinted glass, all good, but it is a non a/c car.

It come with a good set of hood hinges, no slop or worn out.

The grill will clean up nice, and the center bar is perfect, no dents or cracks. [$350 value]

Now a description of the engine and rolling frame.

The frame had 2 SMALL bad spots that I repaired with heavy steel patches. Then gave a quick coat of black paint so it would not get surface rust.

The engine is a 57,000 mile engine with no leaks, no taps, no smoke, no gunk build up inside. This motor needs nothing, it sounds great. This motor came from another Mark ll. I drove the car before I cut it up. The carb may need rebuilt, as it has been sitting in my shop for 3 years, and the gaskets may have dried up.

The transmission from the same car. It shifts smooth, with no leaks.

Rear brakes are on the frame, front ones need to be switches from the donor car to the rolling frame.

After you make the switch to the good frame, you will have a lot of parts that are extra, or you could sell. There is a complete suspension and a rebuilt trans in the donor car.

Parts I know you will need to finish. Vent window motors, quarter window motors, door locks. I THINK I have a outside mirror and a trunk medallion, that you could get rechromed, again, I THINK!

Please do not ask what the reserve is, bid what it is worth to you. I will try to answer all your questions asap.

Lincoln poised to double MKZ Hybrid production

Thu, 18 Jul 2013

The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid has been something of a hit for Ford since the beginning, exceeding the company's modest projected 15-percent take rate for more than two years (we say "modest" because that still means an overwhelming majority of Lincoln customers are passing up on the gas-electric powertrain even though it costs the same as the standard model). Either way, Lincoln builds 700 MKZ Hybrids at its plant in Mexico each month, but has sold 715 of them in each of the past three months. That's why, according to a report in The Detroit News, when the restyled 2014 MKZ Hybrid arrives (non-hybrid pictured), Ford is doubling production compared to 2013. Instead of the hybrid model being 20 percent of production, the new hybrid will make up 40 percent.
Ford is doing well with hybrids in general - its portion of the electrified vehicle segment jumping 12 points in a single year to 16 percent. Assuming Ford doesn't change the pricing strategy (along with the changes Ford is making to calibration to improve fuel economy), the sedan could continue to "[show] other luxury hybrids how it's done" when it goes on sale later this year.

2015 Lincoln Navigator gets lots of updates, still not all-new [w/video]

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

If there's one brand that could really use some fresh, all-new product, it's Lincoln. The MKC crossover is on the way and looks promising, but the just-revealed 2015 model year update of its fullsize Navigator would appear to stop somewhere short of being "all-new." This, despite replacing a product that's been on the market since 2007. Oh sure, there's a brash new face, complete with the company's love or hate split-wing grille, and the revised rear-end treatment does look better to our eyes (if overly familiar). But in the era of the bold new all-aluminum Ford F-150, the Navigator is still based on the outgoing model's all-steel bones, so it's more of an extensive mid-cycle refresh than a completely new piece.
Unlike the F-150, there's no aluminum suit on this black-tie bruiser
That's a shame, really, because the class the Navigator is playing in features a host of really modern, stylish, luxurious crossovers and sport utilities like the Cadillac Escalade, Land Rover Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and more. Unlike the F-150, there's no aluminum suit on this black-tie bruiser, but that's not to say it isn't bringing some new tech to the table in 2015. Under the hood, for example, is Ford's well-received 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6, putting out "at least" 370 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. That's a solid engine, and should be a whole lot more spunky and efficient than the archaic 5.4-liter Triton V8 currently being employed in the outgoing model.

Lincoln putting perfume on its sales

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

Lincoln has a scent. But unlike those from Mustang, Lamborghini or even Shark by Tara, you can't buy it and you have to visit a Lincoln dealership to inhale its notes of jasmine hedione, mate tea leaves and tonka beans. Essence of Lincoln - that's what it's called - is being piped through the ventilation systems at some showrooms to help "create an emotional connection between the luxury brand and its customers," and olfactorily promote the idea of "luxury and warmth." Where it's not run through the ducts, visitors can sample it on scent cards.
Master perfumer Rene Morgenthaler worked with aroma house SensoryMax to design Essence of Lincoln. Also including traces of Earl Grey bergamot and green tea, whenever you encounter it you're meant to enjoy "a feeling of belonging to an exclusive, forward-thinking group that values style and success." And then buy an MKC. There's a press release below with details and an image to explain more, if you're still having a little trouble smelling the orange blossoms.
