Hello, up for sale is a 1997 Lexus LX450 with around 181,000 miles and in a great reliable running condition. I purchased this vehicle about 12 years ago with around 70,000 miles in Chicago IL and I'm the second owner. Through out the time that I have owned it, the only major repairs done have been the starter and window shield wiper motor. Thats right, I'm really being honest, these are the only repairs done since I owned it. Through out my time of ownership it has been maintained regularly with standard oil changes, air filter, tires, and battery. For about a half a dozen times I traveled with it on trips ranging around 1000 miles. Having purchased it in Chicago, 6 years later I moved to Texas where it has been driven through a less stressful environment instead through stop and go city traffic. Currently its not my daily driver because it does eat up about 16 highway miles to the gallon and instead I currently drive a more fuel efficient mini van. It has a trailer hitch bar on the back of it, which I'v only used twice. Here is a list of note worthy info about its condition:

Air conditioning filter needs to be replace, currently its not working because of that.

Having been in Texas for the past 6 years, the sun has eaten away the paints clear coat on the front hood and sides. (please check pictures)

The leather inside has small cracks but no rips, its still in great shape.

The engine is a unique in line 6 cylinder that has never had any signs of oil leakage or transmission leaks.

The check engine light is on and after taking it to Autozone I was told that one of the oxygen sensors needed to be replaced.

Part of this oxygen sensor issue has a connection with the muffler repairs that are needed. There is a small noise coming out of the exhaust but the repair for it is nothing major. Any muffler shop would be able to take care of this issue and it seems that it just needs new muffler piping and welding. This does not have any major effect of its driving performance and its still a reliable drive but its a normal wear and tear repair that needs to be done on it. I haven't had time and money...

The tiers are BF Goodrich and have been purchased about a year ago but are still in great shape with not a lot of miles on it them.

The battery is fairly new, bought it 6 months ago.

Overall this Lexus has served me well and the next owner will not be disappointed. This vehicle has been one of the most reliable and durable rides ever built by Lexus (Toyota Land Cruiser) these rides do not brake down. These vehicles were built to last and I still see them around with many of them being sold with over 250,000 miles and still run great. I wish there was a way to truly show ones honesty on this listing because has the seller/owner I'm not trying to make a huge capital gain but on the other hand I want to sell this a reasonable price, after all I purchased it for $28,000 back in 2000. I'm at a time where I would prefer having the cash around instead of the vehicle.

The starting bid is $4,000 and I am located in McGregor Texas 76657, about 15 minutes away from Waco. If you have any questions or would like to come and check it out in person feel free to send me a message and we could arrange to meet up. I would prefer we meet in Waco with the vehicle for a test drive. With that said thank you for your interest and I hope this is the right vehicle for you.

This Lexus LC Super Bowl ad is like a Sia music video with sweet wall dancing

Tue, Jan 24 2017

What you see above is the extended, 60-second version of Lexus's "Man & Machine" Super Bowl commercial. The car/machine half is obviously the new 2017 Lexus LC 500 coupe, and the man in question is Lil Buck, a so-called movement artist (we think that's like a dancer). Both are moving to Sia singing "Move Your Body" from her latest album, "This Is Acting." So yeah, it's basically a music video with a car featuring prominently in it, which is fine by us. (In fact, it was directed by Jonas Akerlund, who specializes in the genre.) We see the machine and the man on split screen, and then the voiceover attempts to tie it all together: "Machines don't have emotions, but the rare few can inspire them." And then Lil Buck seems to defy gravity by slithering into the car while the door closes. The coolest part is how he dances on the walls around the Lexus. Revolving sets with fixed cameras are neat, especially with a car stuck in the middle. The spot closes with Lexus's new tagline, Experience Amazing. Like most corporate mottos, it says almost nothing about the brand. But hey, the commercial is fun to watch, and we happen to like the new LC, so they're doing something right. A 30-second version of the spot will air during the big game. Related Video:

What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?

Toyota, Lexus dominate KBB's Best Resale Value Awards

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

Toyota and Lexus stormed the 2014 Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards, winning a combined 18 categories including best brand and best luxury brand. This marks the third year in a row that both automakers have won the Brand and Luxury Brand resale value awards. In all, Toyota won 11 categories and Lexus won seven.
Honda made a good showing, as well, winning two segments (Accord Plug-In Hybrid and Civic Si) and putting one car on the top-10 Best Resale Value list (CR-V). Chevrolet did even better, winning two segments (with the V6 Camaro and the Corvette) and placing three cars on the top-10-overall list (again, the Camaro and Corvette, plus the Silverado 1500).
The other winners came from Jeep, Dodge, Infiniti, Subaru and Audi. To give you a clearer picture of the Toyota and Lexus domination, their 18 mentions represents more than half of the 34 awards (including the top-10-overall list).
