For sale is my 2008 Lexus ISF.
Needs nothing mechanically or cosmetically. Touchscreen and everything electronic works fine.
I can lower the asking price if you want some of the aftermarket parts removed and replaced with the OEM.
This price reflects everything on the car right now.
The ISF is rare, and considered by many a future classic and collector car.
For a Japanese luxury sports sedan nothing can touch this car other than the mighty GTR.
It is a blast to drive, and has plenty of power when needed. The car was used for marketing and as a show vehicle
for our company, driven by me the owner. Always maintained well and detailed often, garaged for the winters. Check
out the beastcoast.us feature on it.
Included Modifications (Unless you want them removed and the price dropped)
RARE Greddy Titanium Exhaust- $4,000.00 retail value
ISC N1 Coilovers- $1,288.00 retail value
Tom's and Seibon carbon fiber splitter, spoiler, hood and fenders- $3,000.00 retail value
Note: Unless noted this car comes with the OEM wheels, not the wheels in the pictures.
Any questions let me know.
Model Overview
Lexus has a well-founded reputation for building solid, quiet, reliable luxury cars that, while not dull, are by no
means adventuresome. Apparently, the company has gotten bored with the status quo and has upped the ante
considerably with the 2008 IS F.The IS F is based on the successful V6-powered IS 350, which itself is based on the
company's GS platform--a chassis designed to accommodate a V8. And that's what Lexus has taken advantage of,
inserting beneath the IS F's bulbous hood a 5.0L V8 derived from the 4.6L unit found in GS and LS models.
Internally, the unit makes use of a forged crankshaft, titanium intake valves, and aluminum cylinder heads. In this
guise, the engine puts out 416 horsepower and 371 lb-ft of torque, good to propel the car from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4
seconds, and on to a claimed top speed of 170 mph. All that power is put to the 19-inch rear wheels through an
eight-speed transmission, which can be utilized as either a fully automatic unit, or as a Sport Direct-Shift manual
with paddle shifters, which provides a seamless run through the gears. And, with its lowered stance and sport-tuned
suspension, the IS F performs just as competently in the turns as it does on the straights.Outside, the IS F
features bi-xenon HID headlights, integrated fog lamps, power mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, extended, ventilated
front fenders, quad chrome exhaust tips, a rear spoiler, and special "F" badging.Inside, the IS F sacrifices
nothing in the way of luxury. Standard features include a 13-speaker, six-disc, premium audio system, a power
moonroof, power windows and locks, a power tilt and telescopic steering wheel, and heated, leather-trimmed front
sport seats with 10-way power adjustability. Accents in aluminum and blue with "F" badging highlight the
cabin.Seven optional packages are available, and each includes DVD navigation and a Mark Levinson Premium audio
system, plus amenities like Intuitive Parking Assist, satellite radio, iPod connectivity, and special trunk and
cargo features.Standard safety features include multiple front and side air bags, electronic traction and stability
controls, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, and an anti-theft system. A pre-collision radar system is optional.The 2008
Lexus IS F returns 16 mpg city / 23 mpg highway.

Lexus launching new Crafted Line special editions at Pebble Beach

Wed, 06 Aug 2014

Over the course of the past 25 years, Lexus has done one heck of a job winding its way into the luxury automobile market previously dominated by the Germans. And now it aims to take another step into the luxury arena with The Crafted Line by Lexus.
Set to debut at Pebble Beach later this month, the Crafted line offers the Storm Trooper treatment with high-contrast white paint and black trim. The interiors are done up in two-tone black and red, and Tumi has done up a special set of luggage to match.
The special edition will be available on the ES350 as well as the F Sport versions of the LS460, GS350, IS250 (in both rear- and all-wheel drive) and RX350 AWD. Each will be limited to around 1,000 examples (give or take, depending on the model), with pricing set to start at around $42,000 for the ES pictured above. Scope out the full details in the press release below.

Lexus RC media event in Japan canceled over lack of interest

Fri, 07 Nov 2014

It's a good thing senior editor Seyth Miersma doesn't live in Japan, or he wouldn't have been able to snap a photo like the one you see here, of a fresh-off-the-line Lexus RC F on hand at a first drive for media. That's because Toyota's Japanese arm has outright canceled its RC press launch. Sure, we've heard about events being delayed, but canceled? That's rare. Even worse is the reason: according to Automotive News, the event was nixed due to lack of interest. Wow.
In an email to media, Lexus said the event "has been canceled due to insufficient attendance," according to AN. The News posits that perhaps it would have just been better to hold the event anyway, in an attempt to save face, and that this is another example of the Japanese culture (especially youth) becoming less and less interested in cars. Of course, there's also the thought that local media just didn't want to drive out to Yokohama to drive the RC on a not-so-sexy press launch, which, if you ask us, is an incredibly lame excuse (do your jobs, folks!).
Either way, will this bode well for the Lexus RC's public launch? Will it receive the same lukewarm response when it arrives at Japanese dealers? We'll see.

J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998

Wed, 12 Feb 2014

For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.
