2007 LEXUS IS 250 – Great Car – Excellent Price

VERY GOOD CONDITION

NO ISSUES – Engine runs great with no issues.

GOOD TIRES

GOOD BRAKES

NO ACCIDENTS – CLEAN CAR TITLE – CLEAN CARFAX REPORT

MINOR SCRATCHES (NORMAL FOR A 7 YR. OLD CAR)

We have owned many cars but this is absolutely the best car we have owned.  Very comfortable, smooth, fast, handles great.  Overall an excellent vehicle.  We really feel bad selling it but due to some personal reasons we are forced to sell it.

We have title on hand.  We are hoping to sell to a cash buyer. Nice and easy transaction.  You can drive this car across the US.  The engine is running great.  Very reliable car.

NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM (TOUCH SCREEN) IS NOT WORKING.  It stopped working last year.  We have not had any (repair) estimates to find out how much it would cost to fix it. We never really used it.

I just took the car to CARMAX this morning and I have a written offer for less that our asking price.  By the way, the offer states the car is clean with no body or frame damage (clean Car Fax) for your peace of mind.  They are actually selling two 2007 Lexus IS 250 with same mileage (same condition) for +- 16k retail.  I am also including a picture so you can see it for yourself.  Great opportunity to buy for less than retail and have the peace of mind that my car is clean with no issues.

J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998

Wed, 12 Feb 2014

For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.

What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?

2013 Lexus LS 600h L

Wed, 15 May 2013

I have spent the last seven days driving the Starfire Pearl (read: white) 2013 Lexus LS 600h L you see here. And after roughly 500 miles of errand-running, highway-cruising, commuting and people-schlepping, I can safely say this: I don't get it.
The LS hybrid is a nice car. It's comfortable, has every amenity you'd ever want in a luxury boat, and with its freshened appearance for 2013, it looks modern, integrating the company's new spindle grille into an overall package that's elegant. None of this is bad news. But let me explain why I still cannot wrap my head around the overall LS 600h L package:
