This is an absolutely mint 2006 GX470 that was traded in at my local Lexus dealership back in October. It was owned by a non smoker and the mileage is mostly freeway as the owner lived inland and had to commute. The condition of the vehicle represents that of one having 35k, not 115k. It has excellent original Titanium Metallic paint with excellent gray leather interior. The 3rd seat was never used. The tires are 85% and the brakes are excellent. After showing the vehicle to my wife (she fell in love), she wanted to keep it, so I decided to let her and had my Lexus master tech service the vehicle. My wife has been driving this vehicle since last October only driving around 2000 miles. This is a GREAT vehicle and is very comfortable to drive. There are (minor) scratches due to normal wear and tear, but nothing major. It runs and drives like new. You won't find a nicer one for the price. This vehicle was $53218 when new. Mazda and Lexus crowned with KBB 5-Year Cost To Own awards
Tue, 12 Feb 2013We report on a lot of awards, some of which are given out based on more solid criteria than others. This one, the Kelley Blue Book 5-Year Cost to Own awards, seems like one that new car shoppers should pay attention to.
The cost of a car goes far beyond what you pay for the actual metal, leather and rubber at the point of purchase. Fuel, insurance, maintenance and repair costs, and the cost of fees from the state and financing will all weigh on your wallet while you own the car. That's not even taking into account the biggest cost: depreciation, or the amount of money you lose based on what your car is worth years from now versus the day you bought it.
KBB tracks these sorts of things, and they've compiled a list of winners for 2013 models. On the brand level, Mazda and Lexus earn the 5-Year Cost to Own award for having the lowest overall projected five-year totals (though, curiously, we note that Mazda and Lexus each had only one segment winner). There are lots of winners for all the various segments, so we'll just pick out a few surprising ones to share and you can view the rest here.
2014 Lexus CT 200h F Sport
Fri, 25 Apr 2014The idea of the Lexus CT 200h F Sport intrigues me. A compact, premium, efficient hatchback with an added dose of sportiness? Sign me up. It's why I'm still crossing my fingers for Volkswagen to sell the Golf GTD on our shores (though recent reports on that front are bumming me out). And judging a book by its cover, this Lexus certainly looks like it could be an interesting proposition.
Lexus first launched the CT for the 2011 model year, and for 2014, the little hatch has been given a makeover, now proudly wearing the company's new spindle grille, for better or worse. When we reviewed the CT after its launch, executive editor Chris Paukert called it "handsome, well screwed together," and "one of Toyota's boldest offerings in years." That may have been true, but after a slight makeover and some fresh new F Sport duds, I'm wondering if the CT proposition isn't looking a little more unfortunate than before.

Lexus ES350 confirmed for Kentucky production starting in 2015
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Following Thursday's report, Toyota has confirmed that production of the Lexus ES will move to its Georgetown, KY assembly plant starting in 2015. To accommodate the extra 50,000 units of capacity that the ES represents, Toyota will be investing $360 million in the plant and hiring 750 new workers.
In the previous report, sources stated that the state of Kentucky had offered Toyota as much as $146.5 million to move ES production to the Georgetown facility.
The press release, posted below, specifies that only the ES350 will be built in Kentucky, so it's likely that the ES300h hybrid will continue to be built in Japan - where all ES models have been built since the car was introduced in 1989. Toyota's Georgetown plant, which currently builds the Toyota Camry, will also be getting an expansion to its engine plant to produce more four-cylinder engines at a cost of $30 million and will create an additional 80 jobs.
