I have for sale a 1992 Lexus ES300. I bought this car from a neighbor, for my daughter when she graduated from college five years ago. When I purchased it, I took the car to a former Lexus mechanic that did work on the side. He worked for Lexus approximately 10 years. I told him to go thru the car and do what needed to be done. At the time of purchase the car had 93,370 miles. Here is a list of things he did. A/C converted All seals and gaskets replaced All belts including timing belt Replaced water pump New plugs New wires New dis and rotorNew hoses and filters new front axle and boots new battery drain and service transmission new window regulators in rear windows new factory radio off ebay new speakers in rear new brake pads replace third brake bulb. new floor mats The work above was done when I bought the car. The work below was done in the next couple of years. Redo and clearcoat headlights 6 months ago Bottom cladding all around was repainted 2 years ago and still looks great. Factory color Front and rear bumper done at the same time. new battery about a year ago windows tinted about 2 years ago and still look great new rear struts about a year ago new ECU computer module less than a year ago new radiator about year and half ago New power steering high pressure hose about 3 weeks ago.
cassette player refurbished so cassette works all factory manuals including window sticker.
The car is a non smoker car. The car was bought here in Fort Myers Lexus dealer, and been here its whole life. All power options work. Power windows, seats, trunk release, gas door release, sunroof, cruise, etc. The A/C blows cold, but the air thru the center vents is a little weak. All other vents work and it is cold. Just havent checked it out. The car has been a very good car. drives and runs nice. I just bought a 1998 Lexus ES300 from the neighbor behind me for my daughter. She just graduated from Dental Hygene School and now has her license in Florida to practice. The paint is original and looks fantastic. The interior seat covers where replaced and look ok. The car has no dents or dings as I have someone who does paintless dent removal on all my cars. Spare and all trunk tools are in place along with first aid kit . Keyless remote was working, but the button on the side of the key fell out and needs replacing. The key itself is fine. Has another key. This is a very nice starter car with NO RESERVE. It is used, so look at the pictures and check my feedback. Car does not look like it is 22 years old!! Thanks and good luck Email me with any questions.

J.D. Power: Vehicle dependability at all-time high, Lexus and Porsche lead
Wed, 13 Feb 2013
Each year, J.D. Power and Associates surveys original owners of three-year-old vehicles to find out what kinds of problems they have had experienced over the last 12 months, and then it uses this data to create its annual Vehicle Dependability Study. This means that the models in the 2013 study are 2010 model year vehicles, and J.D. Power rates each make as well as the top individual models based on how many problems were experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100).
Debunking the idea that carryover models are more dependable than new or updated models, the 2013 study found that the average carryover model experienced 133 PP100, while all-new or redesigned vehicles for the 2010 model year had 116 PP100; vehicles that received minor changes fared the best with just 111 PP100. The overall average for all makes was 126 PP100, which is the lowest figure since the findings were first issued in 1989.
The Lexus LC 500h has a four-speed auto and that's a good thing
Thu, Feb 18 2016Lexus is sharing some powertrain details on the LC 500h ahead of the big hybrid coupe's debut in Geneva. Its new gas-electric setup strays from Toyota's tried-and-true system found in everything from the Prius to the Lexus GS. It's called the Multi Stage Hybrid System that's designed for performance vehicles, and it has an antiquated-sounding piece of equipment buried deep inside that's supposed to make it more enjoyable to drive. The basics: In the LC 500h, its first application, the Multi Stage Hybrid System will consist of a 3.5-liter V6, a hybrid transmission, and a lithium-ion battery pack. The hybrid transmission has an electric motor for motivation (and we're guessing a second for charging) and a four-speed automatic mounted to its rear, which either means inside or aft and in series. Why add ancient tech to a new hybrid system? Lexus says it preserves the connection between throttle input and engine speed that gets lost in a CVT. And while four seems like an insignificant sum in the face of nine- and 10-speed autos, remember that it is an infinite increase in gear count compared to CVT-packing hybrids. Toyota has been using versions of the Hybrid Synergy Drive system since the first Prius debuted in 1997, and the same system is sold under the Lexus Hybrid Drive banner in most of the luxury brand's offerings. These systems use what Toyota calls an e-CVT – two electric motors paired with a planetary gearset. This lets the engine and electric motors share the job of propelling the car – one motor handles charging of the battery and the other is primarily used to drive the wheels but can also recoup energy through regen. Like a conventional CVT, the planetary gearset arrangement allows the gas engine to run at its optimal engine speed when called upon for motivation and/or charging. But that doesn't make for the most exciting or familiar driving experience, as it affects both power delivery and the sound of the power being delivered. This is where the four-speed auto comes in. Based on the limited details Lexus has shared, our hunch is that the hybrid transmission will meld some form of the existing Lexus Hybrid Drive system with two more planetary gearsets, or the basic guts of a four-speed auto. This will provide the four fixed ratios and the feeling of actual shifting gears – because there will be actual gears shifting.
Kickin' it: Lexus, John Elliott turn Nike Air Force 1 into fashion tires
Mon, Feb 11 2019At New York Fashion Week, Lexus unveiled a collaboration that spanned numerous cultural realms, from the trendy streetwear and sneaker world to the high-art scene to the luxury auto space. Using its new UX crossover as the canvas, Lexus partnered with rising style entrepreneur John Elliott to create all-white tires designed after the iconic Nike Air Force 1. The pairing stems from a different collaboration in which John Elliott partnered with Nike to create a custom Air Force 1. Elliott kept the timeless silhouette simple in white coloring, but created a new look by layering and stacking parts of the shoe's upper to create the illusion of shadows and shades. The tires are intended to do the same. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Aside from the obvious connection of wheels and tires often nicknamed "shoes," sneaker and car cultures have intertwined on numerous occasions throughout the years. Most recently, a Rolls-Royce SUV-themed pair of Air Jordan IIIs popped up, Volvo customized pairs of Adidas Stan Smiths, and Puma made kicks inspired by the BMW GINA concept car. Those who know the Air Force 1 see the parallels all over the tires. The Nike swoosh, the circular heel design of the sole, and the air holes from the shoe's toe box are obvious, with subtle touches such the textures of the shoe's rubber and leather filling the rest of the space. A small "AF1" badge is a nice nod to the shoe's metal lace ornament, as well. Lexus didn't release much information about the art concept, but there are small changes elsewhere on the car. The black wheel arch cladding is white, as are the side mirrors. We're surprised the UX wasn't completely white, grille and all, like the shoe, though. A John Elliiott badge on the lower rear quarter of the car makes sure everybody knows who worked on the project. Unlike John Elliott's Air Force 1s, this UX is not for sale. Sneaker influencer Ray Polanco Jr. was invited to the event and gave some better looks at the tires below: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences.
