Hello, I have a 1991 Mustang gt convertible 65,000 original miles Have dyno sheet 488 rear wheel hp 492 rear wheel torque at 5200 rpm has way more in it. Tuned by alternative on 4/24/13 Vortech V1 supercharger. 331 stroker eagle rotating assembly, 4340 crank, H-beam rods , SRP pistons, Victor jr. cylinder heads 2.05 int. 1.60 exh. Cometic head gaskets. Comp pro Magnum rocker arms 1.6 , 1 piece comp moly pushrods , pro M 77mm mass air meter , Anderson power pipe , Vortech T trim supercharger , 60lb injectors , ford motorsports aluminum valve covers,ford motorsports radiator, spal electric fans , DSS main support ,cylinder heads and mains studded with arp studs. Canton 7 qt. oil pan , Acufab 70mm throttle body and EGR plate , Holley system intake manifold jet hot coated. efi renegade crank pulley. Crane custom blower cam .542 int. .563 exh. , king engine bearings. suspension: Lakewood drag shocks all four wheel have coil overs QA1 k member and lower control arm. tubular rear, upper and lower control arms. BBk caster camber plates, HPM subframe connectors , 8 pt roll cage. motorsport b springs. fuel system: Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump Aeromotive stainless filter , Aeromotive fuel rails Aeromotive regulator , Aeroquip -10 feeding pump -8 feed line and -6 return all aeroquip lines and fittings on car. Exhaust: Mac 1 3/4 jet hot coated headers 2 1/2" H pipe 2 1/2" cat back , Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers, New weld RT-S drag wheels front and rear. New Mickey Thompson tires front and back 275 on back 205 on front. Drilled rotors, EBC pads. probably forgetting a ton but you get the picture. Lexus IS to get Deviant at SEMA
Wed, 21 Aug 2013It's time to start gathering intel on SEMA, and it starts with this drawing of a modified 2014 Lexus IS. Lexus ran a competition on DeviantART, an online community for artists, to find a suitably modified IS that it could build and display at the temple of all things aftermarket in Las Vegas. The winner, as judged by a four-person panel from among more than 600 entries, is the IS rendered above by Rob Evans.
The winner looks like the beginning of a build for an IS entry into Japan's Super GT series, with a seriously exaggerated front spoiler and rear diffuser and fender flares that aren't just punched out, they're throwing 12-punch combinations.
Evans will have his car built by VIP Auto Salon and plastered all over Lexus materials promoting its presence at the show. Oh, and he gets an IS F-Sport for a year, among other prizes. Second place went to Lucia Lee, third place to Guangho Huang. A press release below has more on the competition and the winner.
Consumer Reports: Toyota expected to announce fix for emergency trunk releases
Thu, 13 Dec 2012According to Consumer Reports, Toyota is set to release a fix for trunk release pulls on certain Lexus vehicles that could snap off in an emergency. As you may recall, CR found the federally-mandated emergency releases could break if pulled toward the user. As it turned out, the trunk surround behaved like a fulcrum, putting more force against the center of the release than toward the trunk mechanism itself. While the organization found the problem to exist on 2013 Lexus ES and GS, Toyota was able to replicate the flaw on the IS as well.
Toyota will alert 700,000 owners of 2007-2013 Lexus ES models, 2006-2012 IS vehicles and 2013 GS cars and replace the old ABS plastic release with a sturdier polypropylene part free of charge once the components are available to dealers. The service campaign is expected to begin in January.
Gazoo heads to the N"urburgring with Lexus LFA Code X
Tue, 14 Jan 2014You'd be forgiven for thinking just because the Lexus LFA has ended its production run (it's been over a year now) that Toyota would have ceased its development. You'd be forgiven, but Gazoo Racing is here to tell you you'd still be wrong.
One of Toyota's many works racing teams, Gazoo is returning to the 24-hour endurance race at the Nürburgring this year with a trio of entries. One is based on the Toyota GT86 (which we know as the Scion FR-S), and one is essentially the same LFA that it's entered in years past. But the third vehicle is dubbed Code X.
It's also based on the LFA, but its 4.8-liter V10 engine has been bored out to 5.3 liters, raising its output to untold levels. It's got a full carbon-fiber chassis and a range of other enhancements that Gazoo isn't telling us about just yet, but they should turn the LFA Code X from a road-going supercar beyond a racecar and into a rolling research lab. Considering that Gazoo has been racing at the 'Ring since 2007 and fielding versions of the LFA there since 2008, it'll be interesting to see how the Code X version fares.
