Recently traded, Columbia Ford Kia is proud to offer a beautifully equipped 2008 Land Rover Range-Rover HSE Supercharged with the rare Westminister Package! Only 500 gorgeous examples brought to the United States in 2008, this truck being one of them.

Mileage count is 106,397, and it runs and drives exceptionally. The 4.2L V8 produces 400 Horsepower, which creates an enjoyable, refined driving experience. Even more luxurious, the fine interior leather and gadgetry resembles that of a James Bond film. Java Black exterior creates a stunning reflection, with no major defects. See photos, the driver/passenger door jambs have been slightly worn by shoes kicking as passengers enter the vehicle. Otherwise, paint is in 9/10 condition. The beauty of this Range's Java Black exterior is only rivaled by the supple black/terracotta leather seating arrangements. A matching 9/10, the only interior flaw which we've noticed upon inspection is a small amount of wrinkled leather on the driver's seat, and a small blemish on the center console, about the size of a quarter. Despite these small details, this SUV shows few signs of having travelled 106k miles. Power equipment works as it should. There are small blemishes on two of the wheels, as seen in the photos.

Fully loaded, some features including but not limited to:
  • Harmon-Kardon Logic7
  • Navigation
  • DVD Headrest Screens
  • Front-Rear Heated Seats
  • Power Moonroof
  • Westminister Package
The right color, options, and priced to move. Be different from the other Range Rover owners, this one is SPECIAL. Financing and warranty is available through our business office. We are happy to work with you to ship, or arrange for airport pickup from Hartford. If you'd like to set up a viewing or test drive, please call 860-428-0993.

Covering some basics... I've personally inspected the vehicle. While it seems to be one of the most solid machines ever, it is a used vehicle with over 100k miles, and an original sticker price upward of $105,000. That being said, our organization strongly encourages you to inspect ANY vehicle prior to committing with a bid. Repairs become costly easily, therefore a few hours of diligence is a great way to ensure peace of mind and pride in your decision. I've described everything about this Range Rover to you, as I would a family member or friend. It is in no way a guarantee, instead it is my account of what you can expect. Beautiful truck, clean history, ready to go for you today! eBay sale price does not include our $498.25 doc fee, taxes, or finance options. No surprises, what you see is what you get!

Jaguar crossover won't be based on Evoque or have off-road chops

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Jaguar's long-rumored crossover won't be built on the same platform as the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, says the Australian site Car Advice. The future of the new CUV remains uncertain, but if Jaguar does dip its toes into the SUV/crossover pool, though, the new vehicle will likely be a car-based soft roader, lacking (or perhaps more appropriately, not needing) the off-road-engineered chops inherent in Land Rover's small CUV platform.
Jaguar product planner Steven De Ploey explained to Car Advice, "There's many groups around the world [platform sharing] - obviously Volkswagen Group is doing it all the time - but I think we have to be careful. He added, "Jaguar is something quite different... It's about capability, but very much on-road focused capability." That seems to gel with our suspicions that the XQ, as it's expected to be called, will share its platform with an upcoming small Jaguar sedan, the oft-rumored X-Type successor.
Still, we'd recommend taking any mention of a Jaguar crossover with a grain of salt. Based on many of the (quite compelling) statements made by De Ploey against a Jag crossover and previous statements made by Jag's design boss, Ian Callum, the case against a leaper-bearing crossover seems strong. If a high-rider were to arrive from Jaguar, though, the article insinuates that it'd be more in line with the BMW X6 or upcoming X4 - sort of a coupe-based crossover. Like we said, grain of salt. If a Jag crossover is going to arrive soon, the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show is the most likely locale for its debut. We'll find out in a few weeks.

Automotive Grade Linux will be the backbone of your connected car

Fri, Jan 6 2017

Creating a backend for a secure, reliable, and expandable infotainment system is costly and time consuming. The Linux Foundation, a non-profit organization, has set out to promote and advance the Linux operating system in commercial products. Automotive Grade Linux, or AGL, is a group within the Foundation that seeks to apply a Linux backend to a number of automotive applications in a variety of vehicles from various suppliers and manufacturers. AGL's goal is to create a common, unifying framework that allows developers and manufacturers to easily implement applications across platforms. Currently, the focus is on infotainment systems, but AGL has plans for instrument clusters, heads-up displays, and eventually active safety software. At CES, a display from Panasonic showed a completely digital and customizable dashboard that allows information and apps to be moved from the gauge cluster to the infotainment screen and back, all through the use of gesture and touch controls. Although the organization has been around for five years, it's really only been in the past three that the group has been working hand in hand with automakers and suppliers. The first two OEMs to participate, Toyota and Jaguar Land Rover, have since been joined by Mazda, Suzuki, Ford, and, as of this week, Daimler. The latter is important as until now most of AGL's partner's have been based in Japan or the US. Other partners include suppliers Denso, Renesas, Continental, Qualcomm, and Intel. AGL want's to supply roughly 80 percent of the backend, allowing partners to then finish and refine the Linux system for each individual application. Think of how the Android operating system is refined and customized for individual smartphones from Samsung, LG, and Motorola. While the final product looks different, developers can have an application that will work across all AGL systems. Because it is open source, anyone can use and develop for AGL. You can even go onto the group's website and download a copy right now. There is also a software development kit available that helps facilitate app creation on the platform. Vehicle development cycles take roughly five years, so there currently are no cars that run an AGL backbone available for consumers. AGL Executive Director Dan Cauchy says products should be hitting the market later this year, with even more coming in 2018. Right now, the industry is relatively fragmented when it comes to infotainment and related systems.

Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations could build standalone models

Sun, Mar 8 2015

Jaguar Land Rover may be set to turn its Special Vehicle Operations division into something much bigger than a mere in-house tuner. Bloomberg spoke to the head of JLR's high-performance, customization outfit, John Edwards, who hinted that his team may move beyond simply modifying F-Types, Range Rovers and the like. "We're certainly looking at that, and we've got the capability to do that," Edwards told AN. "Is there an opportunity for us to do a completely standalone car? Maybe." Such a move into full-scale, standalone models would be a big step, particularly for a division that's still kind of in its infancy. Bloomberg references the success of Mercedes-AMG, but the German division has had the benefit of decades of growth. AMG spent years and years building high-performance versions of all manner of mainstream Mercedes vehicles, before moving onto cars like the SLS AMG and AMG GT, which have no mainstream analog. In other words, AMG had a long time to develop a reputation building high-performance vehicles that people know and recognize before it moved into building vehicles of its own. We aren't entirely convinced that SpecOps wouldn't benefit from taking a similar approach, delivering additional SVR vehicles, like the rumored XE SVR, before striking out on its own. We'd like to know what you think, though. Is it already time for Special Vehicle Operations to build standalone models, or should it learn to walk before it runs by modifying more of Jaguar Land Rover's existing product. Have your say in Comments. Related Video:
