You've found it! A very sharp example of the SWB 3.9L EFI V8 County Classic Range Rover in Epsom Green with Lightstone leather upholstery and Walnut wood trim on door cappings and shift console. Built in 05/95 and still turning heads today. I've enjoyed owning this fantastic SUV and I know I will miss it when it's gone. It's lived in Sunny Southern California it's whole life so there is only light surface rust on the under carriage. The paint is in really good shape with the exception of the fading on the bonnet (hood). I would take it to the detail shop and keep it waxed every couple of months. A new detailer went crazy with the buffing machine on the hood and did a number to the clear coat. It's a good thing they stopped him before he kept going onto the rest of the body panels. I take all of my cars to this Car Wash and they usually do an amazing job so I didn't make a huge deal out of it. They gave me credit for 3 months of unlimited washes and I thought that was a fair deal. Over time it's gotten more noticeable as there is no heat insulation underneath the hood. The photos on this listing were taken just recently and it's hard to see in these pictures. I will take a close up of the hood and post it soon so you may see what I speak of. The EAS (electronic controlled air suspension) was replaced with a 2" lift coil spring suspension and Bilstein Shocks that allows the clearance for the oversized Yokohama tires and gives it (in my opinion) a perfect stance. It also has the Factory TWR (Tom Wilkenshaw Racing) 5 spoke wheels and front brush guard to complete it's rugged good looks. Moving on to the inside you will first notice the alcantara suede trimmed headliner done in dark charcoal (BMW M5) and works well with the contrast of the Lightstone Connolly leather seats and details upholstery. I take this Range Rover out and get complements from other drivers sitting next to me at the lights. When I pull up to valet parking at restaurants people are always asking what year it is because it looks so clean. It's not perfect but it's all there if you are looking for one that can be restored to a true show quality piece. I know that the Air tank for the EAS is still there as well as the Control module underneath the front passenger seat and the ride height sensors at each wheel should you want to go back to  Electronic controlled air suspension with 3 selectable modes and 2 automatic modes.

As with any vehicle of this age you are going to have things that need attention. Tata Motors posts quarterly loss and warns of inflationary costs

Mon, Jan 31 2022

BENGALURU — Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) owner Tata Motors reported a quarterly loss on Monday that was bigger than expected and warned of rising inflationary costs. Automakers worldwide have been roiled by chip shortages, supply chain disruptions, COVID-19 restrictions and rising raw material prices after a short-lived recovery towards the end of 2020. "Demand remains strong despite near term concerns ... the semiconductor supply situation is improving gradually whilst inflation worries persist," Tata Motors said in an exchange filing. The company expects chip shortages at JLR to continue through 2022 as suppliers gradually ramp up production, and is also engaging directly with chip manufacturers to secure supply longer-term supplies for the Range Rover maker, it said. Tata Motors' consolidated net loss came in at 15.16 billion rupees ($203.23 million) for the quarter ended Dec. 31, compared to a profit of 29.06 billion rupees a year earlier, when an easing of pandemic-related restrictions led to a pick-up in sales. However, the recovery was short-lived as acute semiconductor shortages and supply chain disruptions delayed production, and Tata Motors slipped back to losses. For the reported quarter, analysts had expected the Mumbai-based company to report a loss of 3.30 billion rupees, according to Refinitiv IBES data. Tata Motors' earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) margin, a key measure of profitability, was 10.2% for the quarter, above estimates of 9.3%. Total revenue from operations for the quarter fell 4.5% to 722.29 billion rupees, below estimates of 775.93 billion rupees. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. All-electric Jaguar XJ coming soon on platform shared with 'Road Rover'

Mon, Jun 24 2019

We've been posting on the likelihood of electric Jaguars for a while now, especially the XJ leading the charge as a new EV flagship. Rumors at the beginning of 2018 predicted an XJ EV on our doorstep by the end of 2018, the 50th anniversary year of the XJ. By April this year, it was looking like the battery-powered XJ would use the I-Pace platform and make an appearance sometime in 2019. Now, Automotive News Europe reports that during Jaguar Land Rover's Investor's Day presentations, the automaker said it would debut a "large SUV and a large premium sedan" on its Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) suitable for EVs, hybrids and traditional ICE-powered cars. The sedan in question is the next-gen XJ. Nick Rogers, JLR's product engineering boss, said electric MLA vehicles will get 90.2-kWh batteries that return range of up to 400 kilometers (292 miles) on the European cycle. That would effectively be the same size battery as the I-Pace, which rides on its own one-off platform, and the same range; in the U.S., the I-Pace is rated at 234 miles. It's said the XJ's design, produced by former Jaguar design chief Ian Callum and his team, has already been cleared. It swaps the four-door body for a five-door, a la the Audi A7, and introduces a new design language for the car and the carmaker. Car and Driver says the new statement sedan aims to be "a cutting-edge alternative to the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class," and Autocar saying it will "remain Jaguar's flagship in preference to a large SUV, such as the rumored J-Pace." The point of introducing the EV first is to establish the car's technology and sporting credentials — hopefully before the Porsche Taycan and Audi E-Tron GT arrive. Eventually, an ICE version of the XJ powered by an Ingenium inline-six should come; that will welcome buyers not ready to make the all-EV switch, a necessary move in keeping with the XJ's competition for global sales with the S-Class and 7 Series. However, leaving room in the design for a conventional drivetrain will force compromises that the all-electric competition doesn't face. Production of the current XJ ends at the Castle Bromwich facility on July 5. The new sedan is slated to be "announced in the near future" and built at JLR's plant in Solihull, which assembles Land Rover products. The same MLA platform will support a road-focused Land Rover as a sibling to the XJ, dubbed the "Road Rover" internally.

A hybrid and electric Corvette, plus we drive the Ioniq 5 | Autoblog Podcast #728

Fri, May 6 2022

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Road Test Editor Zac Palmer. Zac drove the electric 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Greg drove the fire-breathing 2022 Maserati Levante Trofeo. The two dive deep into the relatively heavy news week by starting off with a discussion about the upcoming hybrid Corvette before chatting about what the electric Corvette might be like. They have a chat about the possibility of Porsche and Audi officially joining the Formula 1 field. Then, Greg and Zac get into some quick-hitting news to round out the segment by dissecting the updated Kia Soul (now without a turbo), the 30th Anniversary Edition Land Rover Defender and the new CEO at Aston Martin. Following the news and drive reviews, they rope in Senior Editor, Green John Beltz Snyder to give them a quick download of what went down at the first drive for the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. Finally, they reach into the mailbag and answer some questions from someone who is less than pleased about infotainment systems in some new cars. And lastly, the gang hears back from someone they helped out in a prior Spend My Money segment on the podcast. Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com.
