Are you ready for anything? NO.  Because you don't have this truck.  If you're man enough for it, this truck is a zombie killing off-road monster.

Pound for pound, and dollar for dollar, there is no better truck on the market to meet YOUR needs.  Designed to excel in the Amazon, the Sahara, The mountains, or the Outback, This truck was built from the ground up to tackle anything,

Equipped With a Safari guard steel front bumper made of plate steel forged in the fires of Mt doom, This thing has a winch mount, deflector plate, and a brush guard for when you need to smash through the woods, or the traffic in a hurry.

Rock sliders for when the almost 18" of side clearance isn't enough.

Oversized off road tires ensure traction in even the harshest mud bogs or snow covered mountainsides.

Raised on heavy duty lifted suspension, there's hardly an obstacle on the planet you won'e be ready to tackle.

A Steel roof rack fit for the toughest of men.  What do you need a epic roof rack for? if you're asking that question, you're not man enough for this car
put your gear on top. put your boat on top. put TWO couches on top, Camp on top.  And, a ladder to access all that.

Does it have four wheel drive?  It ONLY has four wheel drive.  Four different settings of it.

Class IV trailer hitch to haul your tractor through the backwoods, and a winch mount so you can pull all those other wimpy cars on the road out of the snow and mud when they get stuck.

With a factory jump seat installed in back, this truck seats 6, So you're ready to take your whole assault team on your next mission.

How many head lights does it have? 2? 4? 6? no.  EIGHT.  So you're ready to light up the night.  Perfect for blazing trails through the middle of nowhere, or scaring off your enemies, like zombies,  or just leave them on so you can work late into the night.

Did you forget to turn all those lights off last night? Battery dead in the morning? No big deal, the truck's got an extra.  With the flip of a switch, you can jump yourself.

Whether i was tearing up a field, blasting through mud bogs, pulling E-350 Vans out of ditches or snow,  This truck was ready.  Whether I was hauling a hundred boards of lumber, camping in the backwoods or hauling a trailer,  This truck can handle it.  I've driven it through feet solid of snow and seen 3 axle municipal snow plow vehicles stuck and i kept going.  If it can be done, this truck can do it.  Loyal to me for 10 years, this Beast of a machine never left me stranded.

And with just a little work, this tank is ready for anything.
Now for the bad:
A/C needs a recharge, Steering Stabilizer needs to be replaced (included) Rust/hole in jamb at rear doors, Cruise control vacuum needs leak repaired, Power steering leaks, Rear windows open intermittently, Computer faults cause dash (engine) lights, Does not pass cook county emissions test. Antilock sensors failing, Handbrake sensor failing. Folding seats lock up occasionally.

As a bonus:
I will include all the spare parts I've accumulated over 10 years of land rover ownership including an extra alternator, differential, radio, stabilizer bar, steering dampener, Air Filter housing, relays, spare tire cover, and more.

GM, Audi, Jaguar halt Russian sales amidst ruble's collapse

Fri, Dec 19 2014

The value of Russia's ruble currency has sunk like a stone tossed in the Volga for much of the year, losing over 40 percent of its worth since June. The change is having bizarre effects on the auto industry there and leaving some automakers scrambling to adjust. According to Bloomberg, Russians are buying up luxury goods including automobiles at the moment to have a physical investment in case the ruble sinks further. However, with the money worth so little, the companies aren't making much from these transactions. Things are so dire that several automakers are temporarily ending deliveries until the situation stabilizes. According to Bloomberg, General Motors stopped sales on December 16 with no set date to start again. Audi did the same thing but with the intention to resume once it has adjusted model pricing. Jaguar Land Rover terminated business until December 19 to see how things changed. Toyota is increasing its pricing, as well, but keeping business open at the same time. Some automakers have subtly been reacting to the slumping Russian auto market all year. The moves have included Volkswagen cutting production by 30,000 units from its factory in Kaluga. Ford also got rid of 950 workers from two plants due to low demand. Some analysts have even speculated that the contracting industry and possibility of lower import duties into the country could cause companies to end their manufacturing in Russia completely.

Jaguar Land Rover to badge vehicles based on horsepower

Wed, Sep 27 2017

Add Jaguar and Land Rover to the list of automakers changing their nomenclature due to the realities of engine downsizing. Spy photos of an unreleased Jaguar F-Type model show a badge reading P380 AWD. The letter P evidently refers to Petrol (British for gasoline), and 380 is the engine's horsepower. According to Auto Express, the entry-level F-Type will be badged P300, indicating the power output of its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Land Rover is expected to follow suit with the new badging nomenclature. Diesel models will get a D instead of a P, while electric and hybrid models will get an E badge, along with a number corresponding to total system power. So, expect the I-Pace to sport an E400 badge on its hind end. One question we have, though, is how the disparity between mechanical, metric and imperial horsepower will be dealt with. While such power-specific badges are arguably unnecessary, we expect the trend to proliferate as engines continue to get smaller but turbocharging and electrification keep horsepower climbing. At least JLR's badges are easier to understand than the messy way Audi plans to rename its models or the way BMW completely dismisses actual engine size in its naming convention. Jaguar crossover won't be based on Evoque or have off-road chops

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Jaguar's long-rumored crossover won't be built on the same platform as the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, says the Australian site Car Advice. The future of the new CUV remains uncertain, but if Jaguar does dip its toes into the SUV/crossover pool, though, the new vehicle will likely be a car-based soft roader, lacking (or perhaps more appropriately, not needing) the off-road-engineered chops inherent in Land Rover's small CUV platform.
Jaguar product planner Steven De Ploey explained to Car Advice, "There's many groups around the world [platform sharing] - obviously Volkswagen Group is doing it all the time - but I think we have to be careful. He added, "Jaguar is something quite different... It's about capability, but very much on-road focused capability." That seems to gel with our suspicions that the XQ, as it's expected to be called, will share its platform with an upcoming small Jaguar sedan, the oft-rumored X-Type successor.
Still, we'd recommend taking any mention of a Jaguar crossover with a grain of salt. Based on many of the (quite compelling) statements made by De Ploey against a Jag crossover and previous statements made by Jag's design boss, Ian Callum, the case against a leaper-bearing crossover seems strong. If a high-rider were to arrive from Jaguar, though, the article insinuates that it'd be more in line with the BMW X6 or upcoming X4 - sort of a coupe-based crossover. Like we said, grain of salt. If a Jag crossover is going to arrive soon, the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show is the most likely locale for its debut. We'll find out in a few weeks.
