I have decided to sell my Land Rover Discovery. It's a series I not II so it has the real off-road frame (looks like structural I-beams) and drive train from before they "mom-ed" it. I've been used to American cars my whole life, but when I found this in Army Green with a really hard to find 5 speed, I had to have it. I also liked that these Rovers are in full time 4wd (all wheel drive) with the option to manually shift in to part time, diff lock 4x4. The problem is that it's my daily driver and I'd like to get something with better (30+mpg) gas mileage. This Rover is super clean inside and out.
I would not be exaggerating to say that it is the nicest, cleanest, Disco I've ever seen. In my search for this one, I came across train wreck after train wreck. People just didn't take care of them at all. But this one doesn't leak oil like a sieve as nearly all do In fact it doesn't leave puddles at all. There is the tiniest amount of surface rust in the rear door jams (nothing compared to typical Rover rust, and I applied rust-blocker right away) and none underneath at all! The rare 5 Speed Trans seems unstoppable. The body has the straightest lines you'll find on one of these and there are no dents in the metal. There is a 2" lift from the previous owner and the thing feels like a tank off road and in snow. Probably as safe as a tank too. And on the flip side, she's been on road trips and rides very nicely on the highway as well! Starts, runs, drives, stops great every single time.
It has brand new:
-Tires
-Muffler/Exhaust
-Battery
-Fuel Pump
-Wiper Motor
-Heater Switch
-Rear Power Window Switches
-Rear Driver Window Motor
-Rear Wiper Arm and good new blades all around
-$2000 ARB winch-ready front bumper
-Radio head unit- Pro installed, expensive on Land Rovers, but I already did it so you don't have to!
There is a small amount of clear missing on the rear passenger door as shown, the paint itself is fine and there is zero rust in the area. The dash lights/dimmer switch no longer works. Vibrates when accelerating hard. Again, least amount of rust you'll find on one of these!! Frame is completely clean!
Thank You!!
~~ $500.00 deposit required within 24 hours of purchase. NO REFUNDS, be sure of what you are bidding before you bid. Full payment due in 7 days. Rover will be re-listed and again I will offer no refunds.
For any questions or details I left out or any picture requests please just ask! Thank You.
Normal wear for 1995 vehicle is expected and I'm selling it 100% AS IS with no promises or guarantees.
On May-29-13 at 11:25:00 PDT, seller added the following information:
**UPDATE: The vibration is now fixed. It was just the flex coupler.**

Is Jaguar's 3 Series-fighter the brand's last chance?
Wed, 16 Oct 2013The upcoming line of compact 3 Series-fighters from Jaguar, often referred to as the Jaguar XS, could consist of a sedan, wagon and possibly a coupe and GT model (think BMW 5 Series GT). The car's all-aluminum architecture also will provide the basis for two new sports utility vehicles. Just how important is the much-touted "baby Jag" project to parent company Jaguar Land Rover? A JLR executive reportedly says the brand's survival is directly linked to the success of the XS, codenamed X760, Autocar reports.
The brand's survival is directly linked to the success of the XS.
"If the X760 fails, it will probably be the end for the [Jaguar] brand," the executive says. But Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar's global brand director, claims Jaguar will "build the most advanced, most efficient, most refined car in that [compact luxury sedan] segment. Not almost as good as, but better than the best in the world."
A hybrid and electric Corvette, plus we drive the Ioniq 5 | Autoblog Podcast #728
Fri, May 6 2022In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Road Test Editor Zac Palmer. Zac drove the electric 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Greg drove the fire-breathing 2022 Maserati Levante Trofeo. The two dive deep into the relatively heavy news week by starting off with a discussion about the upcoming hybrid Corvette before chatting about what the electric Corvette might be like. They have a chat about the possibility of Porsche and Audi officially joining the Formula 1 field. Then, Greg and Zac get into some quick-hitting news to round out the segment by dissecting the updated Kia Soul (now without a turbo), the 30th Anniversary Edition Land Rover Defender and the new CEO at Aston Martin. Following the news and drive reviews, they rope in Senior Editor, Green John Beltz Snyder to give them a quick download of what went down at the first drive for the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. Finally, they reach into the mailbag and answer some questions from someone who is less than pleased about infotainment systems in some new cars. And lastly, the gang hears back from someone they helped out in a prior Spend My Money segment on the podcast. Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com. Tesla layoffs, new safety mandates, and a bumper crop of V12s! | Autoblog Podcast #830
Fri, May 3 2024In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Associate Editor Byron Hurd for a gasoline-powered installment. They lead off by diving into the Tesla layoff news from this week before leaving electrification behind for a bit to talk about not one, but two production V12 unveilings. This isn't a drill, folks; Aston Martin and Ferrari are both committed. After that, they touch on the U.S. government announcement that it would mandate automatic emergency braking systems starting in 2029. They finish up the news segment with a chat about Fisker. Poor, poor Fisker. From there, it's on to the road tests. The Autoblog team has been testing out some EVs and both Byron and Greg had some thoughts to share, plus we get a final update from Byron on the long-term Subaru WRX and some notes from both drivers about the updated Range Rover Evoque. Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com.
