My father-in-law who fixes up old cars told me that the all aluminum engine in this discovery is the same as an old Buick engine that is very desirable to hot rodders.

I bought this 1995 Land Rover Discovery 7 years ago for fun and ended up loving the way it drives and feels, so it became my daily driver. I’ve ridden in many jeeps; I think this truck rides like a Cadillac compared to a jeep, especially off road. Many things have failed during my ownership that I’ve jimmy’d back together thinking I would just buy something else. I’ve had a hard time letting go of this truck, because I genuinely love driving it.

It is a lot of fun to drive, it sits high enough to give the driver good visibility of the road, it is quick, I’m a V8 fan, and I love that it just looks different than all the other cars.

We live in a weird world where high-performance SUVs could win a 60-mile-per-hour sprint against sports cars from just a few years ago. Here, Top Gear sets up a three-way drag race against the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR, and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, and the results show just how quickly these high-riding models can cross the quarter mile. The Cherokee SRT is the patriotic choice among the three, but it's down on power in this fight. Meanwhile, the Range Rover's menacing growl sounds the best, and the Cayenne Turbo S has the most horsepower. You'll have to watch the video to see which SUV will win this battle. Related Video:

Aston Martin DB10 spied in action on James Bond Spectre set

Spectre, the next film in the James Bond franchise, is due for release on November 6 of this year. That means there's filming happening right now all over Europe as scenes are stitched together, and one of them involves the Aston Martin DB10 shuffling through maneuvers at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, England. Our guess is that Bond has become an unwelcome guest at a fancy event – there's a Porsche 959 and a Bugatti EB110 in the courtyard Â– which is why he is forced to make one of his quick-reversing escapes under fire. While that was being captured last week, the Spectre production crew put together another behind-the-scenes clip from filming in Austria, which gives us a look at the Range Rover Sport SVR and Land Rover Defender "Bigfoot" crushing it up some snowy mountain passes.
