Land Rover Series 3 Iii Military Style Convertible, Lhd With Fairey Overdrive on 2040-cars
Cambrils, Spain
|
Hi and welcome to my Auction for this 1976 Series 3, 2 and a quarter Diesel Military Land Rover replica. This car benefits from a brand new canvas soft top that can be removed completely or folded back to just behind the doors for a Truck cab look, new Desert storm yellow paint job excellent 10 seat capacity interior with the rear jump seats being fold able, nobody needs to get left out for the ride! It would make an excellent Hunting or Mountain Tour vehicle. Many new parts. New galvanized rear capping's and lights, new front lenses and new series 3 Grille and front light guards. New Lap belts in the front Freshly serviced and just passed it's government road test. Only 55,000 miles on the clock and drives like it too! A very tight Series 3 in all aspects. Freewheeling hubs. As you can see from the photos, the ladder frame chassis is in excellent original condition. With all the latest U.S. heightened checks on Defenders this is a major advantage as it is plain to see how original it is! This car will have no problems with the law upon entering the USA! The law for classic cars entering the U.S is that it must be over 25 years old. 37 is well over that! Left hand drive as well unlike UK cars! Being a Land Rover from Spain it is superb in it's originality. Spain is a hot, dry country for most days of the year and no harmful salt is used on the roads. A real killer of Land Rovers and Defenders from the UK and northern Europe. Many European Land Rover sellers are also re-fitting Land Rovers for sale to the U.S but these are being held up for longer due to increased vigilance over these vehicles. Don't be caught out! I track down only the best original cars and leave their key identity intact. Another advantage of coming from Spain is that they fitted their own interiors which are much more comfortable then the English cars. Everything else is the same standard Land Rover Series 3 as this was built in England (VIN plate is evidence of this) and then exported to the Land Rover Santana factory in Spain for finishing touches particular to the Spanish market such as the interior and different rear lights. This one has been put back to the proper Land Rover lights which is something I always do to my Vehicles. Many more photos here. Virtual test drive video here. The reliable diesel engine is non electronic (excellent Prepper vehicle!) and will run on just about any form of Diesel including Veg oil. I can arrange shipping to the States from Barcelona Port for $1900 on top of final purchase price. You are welcome to seek your own company if you can find cheaper. Remember this price is from Spain NOT the UK. If this is not what you want at this time i am constantly seeking out other vehicles. Please remember that this is a 37 year old classic car and as such there will be imperfections. It is not a 3 year old car! Please inspect the photos! We could have all the dings taken out but then we would be asking $20,000 like the others do! Overall for it's age a very straight original low miles car with the very desirable overdrive. I would also like to point you towards my 100% Feedback rating. all questions welcome, I am British so no language problems! If you message me you can skype if you prefer to talk on the phone. |

Jaguar Land Rover exploring 3D HUD and infotainment projections
Wed, Aug 21 2019With its most recent technology research, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is exploring the use of 3D projections for a world before and/or after autonomous vehicles come to fruition. In collaboration with the United Kingdom's University of Cambridge, JLR has developed concepts for a 3D head-up display that shows information on the road ahead and a system that projects personalized 3D infotainment for vehicle passengers. As of right now, hundreds of production vehicles are equipped with two-dimensional head-up displays, some color, others black and white. Using various techniques and different technologies, manufacturers display information in a flat image in front of a driver. Some might find it distracting or unhelpful to have this in the driver's line of sight, and JLR might have found a solution. Rather than wedge the information in between the person and the view ahead, a 3D system that uses augmented reality could display the info onto the road in front of the driver. JLR thinks the system could project navigation directions, safety alerts such as lane departure, hazard detection or other bits typically found in a car's infotainment or instrument cluster. Some might find this to be even more distracting that 2D head-up displays, but to each his or her own. While the 3D head-up display is something that could be used right now, if it were released and passed legal, part two of JLR's 3D technology research is imagined for a life where truly autonomous vehicles are skating across the country. Using head- and eye-tracking technology, the system could lock into the position of numerous people in a vehicle and give each of them a personalized 3D projection "screen." This could be used to track a trip, look up points of interest, or even watch movies. JLR points out this could be used during ride-sharing without bothering others in the vehicle. The work with the Center for Advanced Photonics and Electronics at Cambridge is still in development for now, but it's only a matter of time before 3D tech makes it into cars in some degree.
Jaguar Land Rover planning to allow owners to earn cryptocurrency
Mon, Apr 29 2019Jaguar Land Rover, Britain's largest auto manufacturer, said on Monday it is testing software that will allow drivers of its cars to earn the IOTA cryptocurrency as a reward for sharing data. The company is developing what it calls "smart wallet" technology to be installed in its automobiles. This would reward Jaguar car drivers with IOTA coins for actions such as enabling their vehicles to automatically report useful data, such as traffic congestion or potholes to navigation providers or local authorities. Drivers could also earn rewards if the car participates in a ride-sharing program, Jaguar said. The tokens earned could be used to pay for tolls, parking and charging for electric cars. The overall goal was to "achieve zero emissions, zero accidents, and zero congestion," the company said. Global car companies are exploring blockchain applications, figuring out different ways in which they can leverage the technology to suit their different needs. Blockchain, the system powering cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, is a shared database that is maintained by a network of computers connected to the internet. The British car company is testing the technology at the new Jaguar Land Rover software engineering base in Shannon, Ireland, where engineers have already equipped several vehicles, including the Jaguar F-PACE and Range Rover Velar, with "smart wallet" features, the company said. It does not yet have a timetable for when it will be commercially available, said Jaguar, a subsidiary of Tata Motors. The IOTA token is based on a distributed ledger technology that enables people and machines to transfer money and data without any transaction fees. IOTA trades on digital asset exchanges and was last at 27 U.S. cents per token. "The smart wallet technology ... can be easily adapted into all new vehicles," Dominik Schiener, IOTA co-founder and co-chairman of its board, told Reuters on Friday. "IOTA wants to enable interoperability with all these different players. So there is no Jaguar coin, no BMW coin, but one universal token for this machine economy," he added.
