(please note this is not a 1980 model, eBay does not recognize European VIN numbers. This Defender was built in 1997)

A very much sought after Defender with one of the very best Land Rover engines produced.

I genuinely do not know where to begin with this Defender..... You are looking at by far the very best 1997 left hand drive 110 defender available for sale in the world today!! This defender is entirely authentic in every way and absolutely stunning. The paintwork is original and so are the decals. Please study the pictures, there are very small blemishes in the paint however I would not re-paint this Defender as this removes it authenticity. By blemishes, I mean very very small, me being extremely harsh comparing this Defender to my own 2014 model. This Defender has a contrasting white roof which in my opinion is very iconic and extremely desirable. There is also a roof rack as you can see included within the sale.

This Defender has spent many many years in a gorgeous beautiful warm climate and the chassis is superb, has never been welded, has no corrosion and is in impeccable condition. Again please study the pictures to see first hand just how beautiful the chassis is. Again, I could and would love to talk all day with regards to the condition however pictures really do speak for themselves.

The Engine is in fine working order and has been fully serviced, there are no leaks, damage, nasty noises and so on! This Defender engine is not declared 'ran in' in terms of its mileage. I have included a picture of the engine from the very first day I returned to the UK in her just for you to see prior to the service and clean up just how great a condition this defender was in.

Interior wise this Defender is equipped with 9 seats all trimmed in exceptional original genuine cloth! The seats have no damage, rips or tears and again please study the pictures... I do not need to say any more. Other than, you have original factory ice cold AC, gorgeous grey carpets, as new door cards and mouldings, just as you would expect form any vehicle with such low mileage that has genuinely been loved and cared for.

I have priced this Defender very sensibly and am not looking for greedy figures often tried for by others. This Defender is priced to sell, shall not be around for long therefore get your offers in quick before an enthusiast or collector snap her up. Please, no silly offers. I am not wasting your time by offering you for sale this stunning Defender so in turn please do not waste mine.

I have here in hand the UK V5 (title) service history, receipts, invoices and and a full UK MOT (yearly inspection certificate of road worthiness).

Shipping is included within the price to your chosen port of entry however importation duties and tax are not. These shall be payable by yourself upon entry and your importation Agent can advise and handle all of this for you, if you have not got an agent, do not panic, let me know and I shall happily send you details of the agents in Canada previous customers have used and also pass on details of our shipping parties. Should you also wish to speak with customers who have purchased and imported Defenders from myself then please ask.

With regards to my 0 feedback, I am new to advertising on eBay and obviously being UK based I have had to set up a new account. Please do not let this put you off and again, take note of the above statement.

Weekly Recap: Ford GT inspires guitar, foosball table, sailboat

Sat, Apr 18 2015

Ford design vice president Moray Callum had just wrapped up a briefing on the interior of the Ford GT last month, but something seemed out of place. He grinned and pointed behind him, "You might be wondering why I have a boat behind me," he said mischievously. It was there because Ford set its designers on a mission to stretch and showcase their talents: design non-automotive objects inspired by the interior of the GT supercar. Callum received quite a response, too. His team produced a guitar, a foosball table (yeah bro!), a racing sailboat, a Wi-Fi speaker and some furniture. As the veteran design chief explained, "It's a really great exercise both to highlight our designers' talents, but also to really see how our design philosophy can work and how you can use it and get a common response back from a worldwide design team." Guitar View 25 Photos The objects have been on display this week at the Salone del Mobile furniture and fashion design fair in Milan, Italy, where Ford has had a presence for three years. There's also a light exhibition that apparently was inspired by the GT, as well. While this might seem a little far-fetched for the automaker, Ford said exhibitions like the Salone del Mobile give its designers another way to be creative and ultimately produce striking interior style. Ford wants this to be a differentiator, as research shows consumers are placing emphasis on the layout and features inside when they're making a decision about buying a new car. It's a little light hearted – but it's also potentially big business. Other News & Notes Cadillac CT6 platform could be used for Buick General Motors product chief Mark Reuss said the Cadillac CT6 platform could be used for a large Buick, though "not yet," Automotive News reported. The underpinnings can accommodate rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and would give Buick the large flagship it lacks. The report jibes with comments Reuss made at a roundtable with Autoblog and other reporters at the New York Auto Show. When asked if Buick had space for a large car on the CT6 chassis, he replied, "Yeah, I think it does. Yeah, I think we do." Buick has revamped its lineup in recent years with attractive crossovers and small and midsize sedans, but hasn't added the proverbial flagship that's yearned for by enthusiasts. Buick surprised industry observers with the stylish Avenir concept at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year that raised the possibility of a halo sedan.

Tesla layoffs, new safety mandates, and a bumper crop of V12s! | Autoblog Podcast #830

Fri, May 3 2024

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Associate Editor Byron Hurd for a gasoline-powered installment. They lead off by diving into the Tesla layoff news from this week before leaving electrification behind for a bit to talk about not one, but two production V12 unveilings. This isn't a drill, folks; Aston Martin and Ferrari are both committed. After that, they touch on the U.S. government announcement that it would mandate automatic emergency braking systems starting in 2029. They finish up the news segment with a chat about Fisker. Poor, poor Fisker. From there, it's on to the road tests. The Autoblog team has been testing out some EVs and both Byron and Greg had some thoughts to share, plus we get a final update from Byron on the long-term Subaru WRX and some notes from both drivers about the updated Range Rover Evoque.  Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com. Aston Martin DB10 spied in action on James Bond Spectre set

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Spectre, the next film in the James Bond franchise, is due for release on November 6 of this year. That means there's filming happening right now all over Europe as scenes are stitched together, and one of them involves the Aston Martin DB10 shuffling through maneuvers at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, England. Our guess is that Bond has become an unwelcome guest at a fancy event – there's a Porsche 959 and a Bugatti EB110 in the courtyard – which is why he is forced to make one of his quick-reversing escapes under fire. While that was being captured last week, the Spectre production crew put together another behind-the-scenes clip from filming in Austria, which gives us a look at the Range Rover Sport SVR and Land Rover Defender "Bigfoot" crushing it up some snowy mountain passes. That clip is below. Yes, we're excited.
